Just getting into your videos. Great stuff! Watched the hour-long “LS Swap of the LS Swap” on her truck. Looking forward to the upcoming AC video for guidance on my ‘88 K5. My parents bought her when I was 7, got my license in her, and was my first ride….30 years I’ve known that truck! I want to LS swap her one of these days. So I’m learning up on what I can. I found this ‘Will It Run’ Blazer video and had to click on it. I bought a ‘79 K5 out of a pasture in January of ‘21. I wish it was in half the condition as your customer’s. But I got it cheaper than if I were to fill it with a tank full of dinosaur juice. It’s a 2-tone with white and the rib is the same brown, with a few minor cancerous spots despite being in Oklahoma. The interior is trashed and will need floor patch and rocker work. And the wiring did not survive crackhead mechanics, rats, nor squirrels. I hate wiring. Rodent poop is holding the floors together I believe. But otherwise it’s all there. Had an accident about the time it warmed up outside last year and was off my feet for a few months. So I haven’t even gotten around to trying to fire it yet. It went back burner quick. While in the hospital, I ran onto an ‘85 M1009 Blazer that’s been repainted and kept nice. I ended up buying it the day I broke out of that joint, and since have it looking sharp and running nicely. It’s been on the front burner. These old Chevys will get into your bloodstream and are addictive. I’m laying in bed trying to get sleepy enough to sack out but watching your videos has me wired up and the ole fuel pump buzzing lol. Looking forward to watching through all of your past stuff and even more new content, keep up the great work!
Hi Jerry and Emily, enjoying your videos, thank you. I need a break sometimes from the racing. Ya'll are my favorite RU-vid couple, God bless you both. Question: are you able to get Ethanol FREE in your state ? T.S. RACING Doggo says, daddy I didn't know they made 4 cylinder Blazers lol 😆😂😅
Thanks so much for your comment! We're glad you're enjoying our videos! There are places here that sell ethanol free gas, but it's getting hard to find. And they really do make 4 cylinder Blazers now! Not sure how I feel about that! 🤔🤔 --Emily
Yeah I also have a 78 K5 350 automatic with the np203 transfer case and 3:08 gears. It’s the Cheyenne model. I never could get the engine to run right so I put a set of aluminum Chevy cylinder heads I bought off Amazon and fitted them with Elgin SS valves and comp cams springs and the Extreme Energy cam kit and headers and a edelbrock rpm intake manifold and a Holley 6210 quadrajet carburetor and of course the camshaft took a crap as soon as I started it cause comp cams are not good quality so I cleaned the whole engine up and replaced all the bearings and bought a Howard’s cam and it’s runs fantastic and very strong.
I'm sure the cam in this one is a little tired, but it turned out to be a bent valve! You can check out the whole saga here! ru-vid.com/group/PL3Xf8yWArPC5zIs9-4A18lb1NHPvA5Hrg
Chevrolet did warranty the camshaft and lifters even if the warranty period was over. We did a lot of trucks ( mostly 4wd ) and Z-28 Camaros. Thanks for all you do !
