The most amazing thing about this performance is that at no point did the musicians leap up and run wildly about the hall. Superhuman composure and equanimity.

Don't despair triangle player. In this piece, it is one of the most important instruments. William Tell finally without the triangle would sound terrible! This is the cleanest, best performed William Tell performances on the web. Only one small error about 2 seconds before the end by one of the horns, but other than that, perfect!

you don't just get one instrument if you're in percussion. You have to learn all of the instruments if you're a percussionist, some pieces require you to move around while you're in the pit [the place where percussion plays]. So if you only played triangle, the band wouldn't need you. You would need to know all of the instruments in that section. The conductor may move people around in the pit to get the best result for the band.

I've been playing this rendition or the full length version every day. I don't know why I'm really getting into the William Tell Overture as of late, but it's all good!

Man, it doesn't get much better than this! Camera work was perfect - most of the time the videographer misses the solos and other keys to the performance. This video nails it. On the musical side, nice to see a full compliment of French horns!

The camera work might have been good, but the editing is terrible. It is out of sync the whole time, sometimes by a complete bar!

I live in Milwaukee. And I'm proud to say that we have a symphony that's amazing. I go as often as I can.

Think of all the iterations of this theme that are woven in to our culture, all derived from the inspiration of one man, on his contemplation of another .It really is an object lesson in timeless folk culture , sometimes crass , sometimes poignant ,but reaching its apogee here , still awesome , after its long journey.
