I've always wanted to see willow beach. I hear the striper fishing is off the charts at that location😎😎😎

After living in Phoenix 4 1/2 years, I finally made it out to this corner of AZ in late February, and I was blown away by how gorgeous it is. First, my friend and navigator who I met up with in Prescott let me make a wrong turn leaving Prescott. I wound up taking us on one of the most beautiful drives I've ever been on. We were on Iron Springs Rd, went through Iron Springs and Skull Valley and hit Bagdad Rd. When Bagdad Rd became 96, and then 97 things got really cool, and 97 ended at Hwy 93 bringing us back on course. There was a planned group canoe trip where we'd meet at Willow Beach get everything hauled up-river to Hoover Dam, then canoe down to AZ Hot Springs to camp a night, then continue back to Willow Beach. Before the trip Some folks stayed near Hoover Dam, we camped at Willow Beach and it was great. On the drive up we found out the trip was canceled due to high winds, but we were still able to rent a canoe to explore a little bit (made it to the landing for the trail to the old river gaugers house site. In place of the night camping near AZ Hot Springs we spent the next night at Hualapai Mountain Park Campground which was nice. I read the surrounding trail system goes back to the Great Depression. Wildlife is too friendly there though from years of people feeding them, and Deer and Elk will walk right through your site. The campground is at 6500ft and the peak is 8300'. Only one of my small group decided to hike there because it was in 40s with high winds still. I'd camp there again even though I use a tent and there was a lot of broken glass about.

It's one of our favorite campgrounds. It such a nice location and very well maintained. The spacing is great so you don't feel cramped. It gets very windy there at times. The last time we were there we couldn't rent a boat because of the winds.

It hasn't always been as nice. I lived in Henderson for over 10 yrs and in AZ and NV as a full-time RVer for another 10 years. Many changes during the 20 yrs I have been going there

That was a great stop on the way to the car doctor. Beautiful recreation area, especially for boaters and fishermen.

Willow beach is a beautiful area. We rent a boat for a day trip up toward Hoover dam usually in October and March.

19:19 There's a beautiful private culdesack of homes for the government workers just off this road to the left. We walked up it as it goes up about 100ft giving super nice views......not too shabby living :)

Willow is a cool place! There is some excellent striped bass fishing there! If you can find out when the fish hatchery is releasing the rainbow trout you get in your boat and fish the area hard with some artificial trout lures. AC Plugs and others. Slow trolled or casted. The stripers love to gorge themselves on the released trout. Some massive stripers have been caught in this area. The heat is insane at Willow in the Summer. The canyon it is in acts like an oven!
