Nice job on the frame, the new hinge sections look way better than the originals. Mine are original and look like they were bashed into shape and the screen does set back a bit further, but you got around that nicely. Easy to break old laminated glass, but leave it in there a while to allow the seals to adapt.
Well that’s always tough when it breaks like that. I think I’d look at some other videos on installing that glass. When I’ve tried it I put the glass in the seal and then the seal in the frame. Another comment speaks to using a cord to put the assembly in the frame. I think it works the same way with a slider in a pick up cab. I think I’d sand the frame and paint it all semi gloss black. A few new looking spots look great, just like your wheels. Not griping at all and think your videos are great. Love your progress. Merry Christmas. 🎄
I might end up just letting a pro do it. It sounds like glass shops can get the glass a lot cheaper than I can. I started to paint it like you said I’m trying to find a good balance of old and new. That’s why I pained the bumpers. Thank you for watching! Merry Christmas!

I'm sure this has been posted but any decent auto glass shop can cut a new windshield for you. I've had a few done locally. It never cost nearly what the vendors wanted for a glass shipped in.
I priced a windshield ( cj3a ) from a auto glass place and it was $225.00 LOL then i priced it from a glass store and it was 111.00 , and it was safety glass. keep up the great videos and dont swap in a v8 ,LOL
You can get laminate glass cut to size...the guys the fit glass to heavy plant dozers ect do it....not to expensive. Wish I could get an old Jeep like your here in England.....suppose my old Landrover will have to do....owned it 50 years. Nick in England
You’re correct I don’t know how I missed that! I still would have some work to do relocating the stock ones to work in a new location. I may still go back to stock someday. Good eye thank you!
Replace the rubber , go to the local glass business that does automotive and get them to cut a new one and with that you can even get a tint , I've had it done myself and even updated with AS1 glass
It was a brand new seal but I’m gonna order a new one for the new piece of glass. From what others have said including you the precut glass is over priced compared to what I can have one cut for. Thank you!
Careful with that magic tractor supply paint, I bought some of that once that was suppose to be flat black. It dried high gloss black and took forever to dry.

The windshield hinge brackets on wrong side or something can’t see but bolts shouldn’t come through from inside probably why windshield so far from dash
I tried swapping sides they only work one way… I think I needed up deciding the arms on the windshield were bent wrong and it messed the alignment up. Thank you for watching!
I broke the glass on my CJ7 years ago, total bummer. A thought on the windshield being too far forward, if you flip the brackets on the cowl the other way around, won't it bring the windshield back?
