I did all this, a few times. I've never redownloaded and cleaned software this much. The one I have is search-fine and makes my life terrible. Any help? My anti-virus can't find it, it's not into the browser, it's not on an extension, it's worse than coronavirus.
If you honestly did delete the browser application folder completely, usually in (%appdata%)or/and(ProgramFiles/x86) Of course try the easy stuff first so you don't lose any information, checking your home page/startup pages etc. as in the video. You may have an actual virus inserting the extension. Download and do a Malwarebytes scan. Beyond that, you may need to take it to a local iT guy, I also do remote support.
Thank you so much. For so many hours trying to get rid of it with many malware-searching apps, it was still in there. Had to reset the google at the end because there is no option "remove from the list" for me, but its gone, for now. So thanks... :3
I'm not seeing a major update removing the option to Delete/Remove items on Windows 10 Chrome/Edge. Follow all steps in video. There Might be a program override, or %AppData% issue keeping it there. You could also be in a malicious Chromium (Open Source) browser. Make sure you're using a "normal" top tier browser. Lots of details are needed to help more directly.
When I’m trying to uninstall suspicious malware on my computer, it asks if it can make changes to my hard drive. It asks this when I try to uninstall anything as usual, but I’m still scared to press allow
When I tried to delete the google file, it needed administrator permissions, which I could not do. I could also not remove the hijacker from prefered search engine and an uninstall app from my computer in general, all due to note having admin power.

If it's a self installing script, yes. With situations like this I recommend finding a local small iT shop or at home iT technician. Try following every step in the video first. Only a serious/real "virus" will not be removed by these methods.

So I have a problem where if I open up any web browser (Chrome, Firefox, explorer etc) it opens up 1 page that I can see. But if I open task manager, I can see like 10 pages loading in the background that are invisible. It is running my gpu down the ground. I would love some help
That's not necessarily a problem, Chrome and many other browsers have a plethora of background processes for just a single page on RU-vid. But if you're saying one browser is bogging down your entire PC there might be an issue. Post Ram, CPU, GPU. and if hdd or ssd. Assuming your on 10 as well
@@bits8797 it's even with discord, or Microsoft teams. The worst part about this whole thing is that it got transferred to my laptop from pc due to onedrive😑. So now I have this issue with both machines. I guys 4k down the drain😢. Hard reset won't seem to fix it either. I am bringing them tomorrow to a tech guy that knows allot about viruses or Trojan stuff but it's gonna cost me 240 eu without even knowing if it is going to work or not😕
@@minahabashi9090 Yes this sounds like an issue beyond your browser. If it was just a browser issue I'd recommend turning off Sync/Account Sync for Chrome/Edge etc. Then repeat steps. However, again, it sounds like a virus/program rather than just a simple hijacker.
@@bits8797 I brought my desktop to some tech guy that will reset the whole thing and install new drivers, but then onedrive is still my biggest problem
@@minahabashi9090 That's the best way to do it, a fresh install %100 secures the computer. OneDrive isn't necessarily a 24/7 running OS+FileSystem for you. So locating and deleting in OneDrive should solve the problem(it wont replicate as long as nothing else is syncing it basically.) Making the final issue locating it. Would delete (Downloads) Folder, or look through that nature of folders in OneDrive. Alternatively, Have the iT do a look through, or start from scratch in OneDrive, if you have info available on an external or locally of course first.

Smart Search can be removed traditionally, and does not need a PC reset/factory/re-format. If you do a reset you may lose other personal information you don't want to lose.
@@TWS07s would be happy to help as much as possible, I work iT outside of this youtube and it takes much of my time. Apologies for late replies. Smart Search comes in several forms, Extension, or .exe. Smart Search can be deleted via "Add or remove programs", or the extension manager via what browser you're using(chrome, safari etc), or by deleting the files manually in programs files-after killing the program in "task manager." I have fought Smart Search before, you won't need a reset.
