Of course. Linux is released under the GNU license, which means that the software is free. Free of costs, free to use, free to modify and free to study the source code. That is the hole philosophy behind Linux
@@punkerts7711This doesn't mean that you can't have a paywall for premium features. You only have to release one free version. Everything you make in addition to the free basic version can be capitalized and this is an important part of Linux, too. Linux would never be so successful without companies who profit from Linux. Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, Canonical, Tuxedo, System76, AMD, Intel, IBM, Red Hat, SUSE, etc… They push Linux because they wanna make profit from it.
Microsoft HAS made a Linux distro. Its called Microsoft Azure Linux. Its an immutable distro. Theyve also made a UNIX distro called Xenix. And Wubuntu isnt based on Windows 11
THIS DISTRO IS NOT OPEN-SOURCE. That opens a whole can of worms. Every distro that people use ARE open-source. It is VERY sketchy if a Linux distro is NOT open source, as its near impossible to see if it has a virus inside.
@@HkRines So? Whst does that mean here? Nothing. The distro is most likely insecure. I never brought up Windows in my comment. Also, please learn to NOT use parentheses like that.
In a past I used ubuntu / xubuntu / kubuntu / lubuntu but with Ubuntu Pro annoying user + snap repository I switch to Debian 6 xfce. Now I have 420 days using without any issue, cause Debian stability.
If it wasn't for security patches, and looks, I would still use win 7. Windows 10 was a perfect OS for me for a long time, and now it's being ruined by greedy Microsoft. Switched to Debian 12, with dual boot to non-updated in a long time windows 10. Living a happy life now. 🗿
Microsoft already made their own linux distro, it's called CBL Mariner, the only issue is that it's not intended for the desktop usage, microsoft uses it to draw gui apps in WSL (basically a linux system emulated inside of a windows kernel) and run it in azure, microsoft's cloud server privider
Just FYI, they stored IPs and Emails in plain text, and they also stored the key to which you access the emails and passwords (not encryption key, but API key) in plain text too, accessible from the network
@@sheepriderkiller1181 is that true? Havent explored much guess i am lagging a little do you have a channel or something which i refer and then i can switch to linux gaming lol
@@dtoxicatedcaffe no, but there are solutions, they might not work 100% but they are working more often than not, wine and bottles are 2 programs for that, they aren't the exact same, because some games might run on both, some on none and some with only one of them, and don't forget the glitches might be different from one to another. i personally find games that don't run like this even if windows exclusive, as exceptions, they even allow modding as usual and the errors might be windows errors
Use Linux Mint, it looks linke Win 7/10, Edge edition supports next gen GPUs and it's more secure. Wine now supports nearly all programms for Windows plus some driver software for Windows thanks Valve supporting the development with Proton...
Microsoft did make a linux distro in windows, it's called WSL, and you have the full command prompt and Linux app support There are plenty of guides on how to enable it on the web
They did NOT make a distro. They made a slow, buggy subsystem for devs to use Linux *almost* natively through Windows, without going through VMs or dualbooting.
I like linux it's just that it is easier to have a cloud linux than Windows, i can do everything i need from the terminal via ssh with almost no latency or lag and still have everything that is only available in windows
I started with debian but like i have been weeks studing everything about linux there is so so so much to learn it is hard but worth it No pain no gain 😂
As soon as linux can download apps as easily ad Windows and had app support than im switching currently as some who has tried linux that does not exist, unfortunately
Unfortunately, many games I like to play are not compatible with Linux. In part, Proton from steam didn't help. In addition, there are always problems with OBS.
I saw a video about this by Micheal MJD and they sent that it was a stolen Linux distro from another Linux with the same looking UI but in orange and it is not secured at all.
This distro keeps changing their name to escape Microsoft lawyers. First it was Windows FX, then Linux FX, and now Wubuntu. Also, they're technically infringing on Ubuntu as well as microsoft this time around. The distro is based in Brazil, and I'm pretty sure it's affiliated with cartels. In addition, they charge license fees, and the server was hacked recently and everyone who bought a license had their info leaked to the dark web. Security researchers bought the hack upload and dissected everything, and were actually able to obtain access again, and the distro maintainers just changed the passwords to things that are super petty, inappropriate, and immature.
The reason I don't use Linux is not because its interface may be different from Windows, but because of all the obscure bugs you'll encounter, such as refresh rate issues.
@@blender_wikiI don't think lag has to do with incompetence. But yeah I will use windows 10, it's like the newest one that doesn't have bloatware (I don't see any somehow)
Thid company is the most unprofessional thing i ever saw, they miterally changed there whole website to a text that insults some dude who shared their security flaws calling me an as****
Windows is still actually much better OS of masses than Linux. I use Windows 11 for gaming but Linux (but also sometimes Windows 8.1) for productivity.
Look, I love watching Surfsharks vids, but PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH ON WHAT YOUR PROMOTING! There will always be someone less prominent in tech than you who could fall victim to a possible virus, definitely a scam OS.
Thanks for pointing it out, my intent was not to promote this distro but rather make people stay away from it but I should've been more clear in the video
@@SurfsharkAcademy it’s all good, just for bad software don’t make it look like the holy grail for the first half of the video as people will get exited.
"This distro is full of bugs" good to see that they try to stay faithful to a true windows user experience. Do they also include the spyware windows comes with?
I feel like this video started off with a bad point, and then cut that off to correct itself and provide a better recommendation, but without switching characters? 👎
I like linux but the installation of other os's and the file wipes n stuff scares me so, yah ill use linux if i build a pc and dint buy a used one that already had windows 10
