Totally agree , originally I didn’t want to wear one but then developed tennis elbow. I couldn’t wing without a harness now , only hook in when flying up wind then unhook and ride the swells back and repeat.I just use 5mm downhaul rope , doesn’t slap in your face when pumping up on foil, the ride engine harness is really good.
Probably need a harness riding this SS dart thing. Most good wings go upwind same with or without harness. No thanks on the harness. Try theraband for tennis elbow.
Hi Arnim - Harness line loops are on a lot of different wings now (not just the DART) but you're right -- 100% personal preference. There's no denying that if you're doing a multi-mile upwinder - it really helps to have a harness to rest the arms. Keep getting the stoke!
For a unique DIY harness/leash, check out the Lazy Winger on the OK Kiteboarder channel. No hook dragging the board. I didn't want a harness at first either.
Please check out recent video by OK Kiteboarder, DIY harnass. Game changer! Been using mine a week now on snow, cannot wait to hit the water. Full time hooked in, jumping, gybing, etc…
hahahha -- it should not give a rider the poop stance -- hips forward brother! And....I agree....I love the freedom of as little lines as possible (coming form a kite and windsurf background). That said - harness lines absolutely increase the pull you can sustain -- try them and see what you think.
