You´re right and i had the proof of it a few months ago , my college radio played "Seventeen" and a LOT of people loved it and asked for the song . Maybe if a new band showed up playing this music style it could make it big again
Winger got so much slack from so many people back in the days when MTV actually played music, and I'd sleep at my grandmother's house on weekends so I could stay up and wach Headbanger's Ball. I loved Winger since I first heard Madalaine, and I still do. Critics always focused way too much on how "pretty" the band members were, bands like Cinderella, Warrant, Poison, they basically forgot the music. I still love each and every one of the "hair metal" *note intense sarcasm* bands I was raised listening to, and I will be a headbanger at heart until they put my 6 feet under.
Okay, not only is the guy an uber talented singer, songwriter, musician, knows how to move, and is gorgeous by the way - he also has the most ridiculously blue eyes I've ever seen! Total Package PLUS!
the first I ever saw Kip Winger's smile it was like a bomb dropped into my stomach....WOW! He was one of the sexiest men in music then. Jeez I miss the 80's the music was the best.
Can you count how many ballerina spins that is? Quite a few. And that's hard to do... along with those high leg kicks. :) Kip is like MORE than the whole package. Yes, I am a straight man. But, I also play bass, too... This f*ckin band can really play their instruments, and they had awesome tunes!!
Sherry B, I was vey lucky, there was a meet and greet to meet Kip at Spinnakers in P. C. after concert at Marina civic center, and I live in Dothan, and we waited out by tourbus after concert and met Kip and the rest of the band!!! It was so surreal and awesome! The P.C. concert was in August of '90, and Dothan Al. concert in January of '91!! ;)
Tony Powell: 100% right, man. Reb Beach never really got the due he deserved, yet his guitar tone/sound was among the most important in establishing the late-80's/early-90's pop-metal sound. This song pretty-much cinched his importance to the era.
There are alot of nice looking guys out there, but I have yet to see one that even comes close to Kip. He is just tooo damn good looking. I think hes perfect. wow, what he does to me. LOL
If I could return to any period of my life, I'd like to just be stuck in the metal years. Nirvana made metal bands irrelevant with "Nevermind" in 1991, but I always loved and appreciated bands such as Winger because of their songwriting, playing, and singing abilities. Nothing against Nirvana and the alternative bands, but, come on, Winger knew how to rock ... and still does!
@Mrcrowley1967 Great album. "Who's The One" is such a strong composition. And the video is timeless (remember the pictures of the oil-covered wildlife?)
you have toadmit the 80s rocked..i cant believe after 20 years i still know every word to this song! i was a teen then and was the best years of my life!!lol ;Pkip is sexy as hell!! whoohoo
LOL I favorited this Channel. Class of 86, I'm a metal connesouir from way back: Testament, Megadeth, Pro-Pain in the mid 90's but I like Winger! Always have!
The 80's were about sex appeal , hard guitar riffs and having fun ... Something todays music lacks , it might have one or the other but not all 3 .. So i say long live the memories and the music Aloha !!
Kip is the best lookin man in this WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!!! Kip was HOT back then and is still HOT now!!!!!! Everysong Winger sings is the BOMB!!!!! You know how they say everyone has a double? Is there anyone out there that looks like him??!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everytime i hear this song I think of Jake McKinnon on Aother World The soap opera that was the first time that any soap opera ever used a mainstream song to be aired on national tv.
