I've been a metalhead my whole life of 43 years. Sabbath, DIo , Ozzy and Priest are my favorites. With that said , Anyone who mocks Winger as "soft" or whatever is a jealous prick. This dude had more talent in his pinky than most metal bands of the day had at all. Great fuckin singer, bass player, and a great band!
Thank you so much for speaking up for them! I try to every time I get a chance. I'm 41 so we probably remember this time the same way, as awesome..lol I hated the 90's. As a guitar player song writer myself there were no better days for guitar especially than these days. And the whole band rocked, but Reb Beach was awesome as well! Keep Rocking!
One of the few bands that can record the sounds in the studio, then go knock it out exactly the same live . And there's only 10 no 6 no 4 bands I know that can do that......
@CastAirLead No... There were only a very small handful of bands that were performing at this level. Many of the glam bands of the time had lead vocalists who couldn't pull it off live, guitar players who were playing run of the mill licks or were just flat out ripping other players off, and VERY few that had solid 3 or 4 part vocal harmonies. In fact, I can only think of a couple off hand in this league.... Extreme and Mr. Big come to mind.

This band is on fire! Kip's incredible vocals and the arrangement of the song, not to mention the level of musicianship of all of these guys is amazing. Love Winger!
I mean seriously. Underrated. Dude vocals spot on. Playing bass. No lip synching. No auto tuning. Like many “hair bands” Winger doesnt get enough credit for their talent.
I've been a fan of the group Winger since I was in high school back in the late '80s to early '90s and I still am today. Kip rocked back then and he still knows how to rock today. He's still just as handsome as he was then. He just matured. I still listen to them today. All members of the group are still talented and equally handsome. Winger will continue to rock til they can no longer do so. Long live Winger!!!
This is the true meaning of "live". No tricks,no distractions,no bull shit. How about those vocals? Completely underrated and under appreciated. Listen to Karma and get a small chubby. I promise.
I didn't know either. I must've missed that one. I still enjoy listening to Winger to this day. If you were to see Kip today, he's still good-looking. If I could, I'd marry him. He's a hottie. 🥰🥰🥰

They are STILL phenomenal live in 2022. Just wish I had seen them when they were huge - my high school years. Thank you for the Arsenio uploads!! What a great time that was for both music and late night.
Saw them a couple times in their heyday at a smaller local venue. First band I was ever blown away with their live sound. Was less than 10’ from the stage and couldn’t believe how good especially his voice sounded.
He is handsome even today in the prime of his life. He has a hint of gray on the sides of his head but he looks sophisticated in my opinion. I like mature men but not too mature. Kip is just the right age for a lady about to turn 50 later in the year.
One of the best metal bands of all time. They should have been a lot bigger than what they where. Brilliant songs, amazing musicians and yes, kip has an amazing voice !!!
When Kip was bassist for Alice Cooper back in the 80s, Alice said it was only a matter of time before Kip was a star. Fast forward nearly 40 years and Winger is still putting out badass music and with the same lineup (+1) to boot.

That must've been awesome!!! I've never been to any of their concerts. I love listening to Winger. They still know how to rock!! My favorite song by them is "Seventeen". I just love listening to that song. It reminds me of me when I was in high school. I wasn't with the "in crowd" or even popular but I did feel good about myself hearing that song.

He still knows how to rock even today. He's matured and wrote classical music but give him a bass guitar and he'll sing his heart out to his loving fans. He's still a great singer, musician, and songwriter.
Saw Kip Winger in a small bar doing a solo acoustic show about 5 yrs ago. He is not just a phenomenal bass player and singer, he was an outstanding guitar player.
What a GREAT band that a LOT of people liked until Lars Ulrich and Beavis and Butthead told the masses that it wasn't okay to like them anymore,and the weak minded individuals listened.What a shame that so many people just like whatever is IN at the moment and can't think for themselves.I MISS THE 80'S!!!!!! I hated that stupid cartoon. They sound like a couple of potheads if you ask me. I never watched it but unfortunately, I've seen previews of their new movie that's coming out before August. I don't pay attention to a couple of idiots who don't know jack squat about what in the heck they're talking about. I pay attention to good music that I enjoy listening to. Winger was great then and they still are today.
Kip played a solo acoustic show at my friend's bar 2 weeks ago....all I can say is that he still looks and sounds GREAT! Oh, and I kissed him on the cheek and he gave me a HUGE hug...:) What a nice guy!!
