joe, i can feel your pain. my grandson has fought cystic fibrosis all his life of 15 years. it was 13 years of failed procedures at every turn. hopeful treatments all failed. i was helpless, i could not change the outcome. i was watching him die. all i could do was place him in god's hands. 2 years ago, as he was fading away he received a double lung transplant that has turned our lives around. suddenly he was transformed into a happy healthy kid. never quit trying and never lose faith. good luck nd may god be with you.

Not an active commenter on RU-vid, but man I can't imagine how you keep sane when you're feeling powerless to help your kid. Most I've had to deal with regards sick kids, was a perforated appendix... And that's a straightforward problem to deal with. Your continued making of films for our enjoyment is very much appreciated.

I love the Dog, my man. He looks like he is well taken care of and he also has those first glimmers of, ( in my opinion), a primal intelligence that serves him well. Dogs are like people, some of them are sweet, some rude, some happy, sad, crazy and some of them can be taken out of their comfort zones and subjected to new things and the wild. A loyal dog is better than most 5 random guys.

I know this video has been out awhile but I just saw it. My daughter was reliant on bl00d transfusions her entire childhood because of myelodysplasia/aplastic anemia. Then she got iron overload from all the transfusions so she had to be hooked up to a portable pump which meant needles continually. I literally felt like I was helping to torture my child. She’s now an adult with kids of her own and she has told me, “I appreciate everything you had to do for me”. I’m sure your lovely daughter will one day understand the hard choices your family has had to make as well. Be blessed and thanks for taking us along your adventures!

thank you for your videos. I am a 73 year old Oregon great grand mother how was raised with parents that hunted, fished in the Ocean for Salmon and some time tuna 20 miles out. I can no longer go camping and things but it is very good to see yours.

Hey Joe, I’m from down in Texas and the weather is extremely cold and snowy and a blizzard, which is pretty extreme for this part of the country. A couple of years ago I ran on to your videos and subscribed to your channel. I just want to say that by watching your videos, I learned about how to start a fire with wet wood by splitting it. I had to build a fire in my pit to stay warm because the power has been out so long, and the wood was wet from the snow. I thought of you and your videos on how to get a good fire started. I really enjoy your videos, and thanks for the helpful advice in them for times like these.

I haven’t watched a good joe episode since you lost scout. I also lost my dog around the same time and we would watch you together. Some of the best times I had with that dog were watching you and scout farting around in the forest. I recently got another puppy and this was the first episode that I’ve been able to get through, and it’s because he was busy watching the screen for Tripper. Just like my old dog did for Scout. Here’s to the future and lots more great memories! Thanks man

It's good to see you and Tripper back out in the woods. When cooking with cast iron, get the pan super hot first THEN put the oil in before you add any ingredients. That way you'll build up a nonstick barrier and you won't be tearing your taters apart.

Good to Tripper on the mend at last Joe , You'll be surprised just how strong your daughter will be going through this! when you feel like your falling apart yourself! Our daughter has two brain tumours of which numerous Dr's are keeping an eye on and debating which is the best way to remove them as they are right in the center of her brain! Dr's are worried! We're falling apart! but she's like " Look ev1 i'm ok all will be good i've got too much to do as i grow for this to beat me "! She's 12 and wants to be a translator , but not just any? She is learning Chinese , Japanese and Korean! Be possitive stay strong!

My dogs went nuts when Tripper barked lol, he was having a blast and it showed. This made me think back to the camping we used to do, when you had to do everything you did, make our entertainment, and had lots of half chilled half burnt fun. Great video.

I do the exact same thing by feeding my little boy a little bit of about everything I eat, except sweets, etc. this little dog was supposed to be my son’s pup, however he’s been my little shadow who goes most everywhere and sleeps on his bed located right next to my bed. He’s the smartest and best dog I could have ever gotten. Back then we ended up adopting two Chug’s (Chinese Pug/Chihuahua mix) that were brother and sister and were very close to one another so we couldn’t stand the thought of separating them, so we took them both, and have been thankful for getting them both of which they have brought us additional love and attention we were going to get no matter what. Lol Sadly, we unexpectedly lost his sister back in January after taking her to the Vet for a minor ear problem, but we ended up figuring out the Vet and his Tech’s somehow screwed up severely by misdiagnosing our little girl as having diabetes and some type of fatty liver problem. They conducted various Labs, X-rays, and Ultrasound testing, etc. which they supposedly used to diagnose our little Blondie. However, we didn’t mind paying the very expensive vet bill, and expensive prescription that together was more than $2k. for good medical service for my dog which didn’t happen! Nonetheless, I paid them for a very expensive medical care, and filled the prescription medication that was VERY expensive injectable diabetic insulin as well as meds for her liver, and once home we gave her the first dose that morning noting she wasn’t acting like herself and sleeping a lot, and we associated it to her disliking going to the vets office. Once home we gave her first doses later in the morning, and she didn’t act like herself and slept a lot, and we gave her the second prescribed dose late that evening and within minutes she got very sick and nearing midnight we tried contacting every 24 hr. Vet in within 100 or more miles, however nobody answered or returned our calls as we did everything possibly trying to help her, but within two hours she passed away leaving us speechless and heartbroken over our loss, and how this could happen. So, yes I stay worried knowing the inevitable will happen to my little shadow named Nugget, who goes and does most everything with me. I know they can’t live forever just like our friends and loved ones, and there’s nothing more we can do besides morning our loss! Thanks for the video that I enjoyed you doing what me and my cousin used to do many years ago!

So, I've watched so many of your videos, and really enjoy them. I've been an avid camper my entire life and am now passing that on to my kids. One thing I can say that makes your videos so much better than most, is, you talk to us. You bring us on the camp and include us in the conversation. Love the stories! Love the lessons!

Hey Joe I'm from upstate NY, my uncle's used to backpack into the Adirondack mountains for days at a time. They used to have what they called a sulky I believe. It was a two wheeled wagon with a platform they pulled all their gear in and out. You could use something like that, or a set of wheels from a kayak to move and collect fire wood

I haven't watched you in over a year ,maybe two years. I watched you build that fort and your tarps shelter with you and the white husky I believe. Very pretty dogs you have. When my phone messes up I lose alot of my bushcraft people I'm subscribed to. I watched your channel on my Android note eight. Then I got a cricket phone which is a crappy phone . Take your daughter to the Mayo clinic in Minnesota or to Saint Judes children's hospital . They can do wonders . It's not only for cancer patients either. I'll pray for her. Love your videos.
