My Winter Capsule Wardrobe Outfit Combinations video is here! While I’ve been putting together minimalist capsule wardrobes since the Winter of 2015 (when I did Project 333 for the first time), this is the first one I’ve done since discovering that I’m a bright winter in the House of Colour system, so it’s the first one with a deep winter color palette! My capsule wardrobe outfits are typically pretty colorful, but these are by far the most colorful winter outfits I’ve ever put together. I hope this video serves to give you some winter outfit ideas, some inspiration for winter layering, and helps you see that you CAN adopt a slow fashion practice with your minimalist wardrobe - and it doesn’t have to be all beige! Wonderful as always! I was looking threw last years spring capsule and wondered if we are going to see the pink trench coat again this spring? I noticed you did an expanded number of pieces in that capsule because of weather conditions. I wonder if you might do that again this spring You could do 6 tops 5 bottoms 4 layers 3 shoes 2 outerwear or dresses 1 special item And 4 accessories or 2 belts and 2 handbags Love the capsule You could categorize the even numbers 6,4,2 by temperature warmest being 6 summer weather, 2 coldest winter weather, and 4 in between as spring temperatures not too warm and not too cold 6 summer weather 4 mild weather 2 cold weather outerwear to set aside when it gets too warm

Oooh interesting idea... I haven't started thinking about Spring at all, except for color palette. I'm sure I'll want some of the lighter colors in the Winter Color Palette instead of the darks. I actually don't have the pink trench coat anymore, I swapped it for a damson waterproof one recently - better for what I needed, and better color. The old pink one was lovely, but it didn't have a hood and the fabric wasn't waterproof, so I would still get wet. You'll see come Spring!

Shame the pink trench didn’t work out it. It might have looked nice with your navy and pink dress, and your new pink sweater, and your floral lily silk blouse and maybe with the plum culottes.

I love the fuchsia sweater over the dress. That's a look that would be amazing with bare legs and booties for the beginning of spring, when one wants to step away from the blacks, grays, and browns of winter and embrace being "bright" again...but there's still a chill in the air and closed-toe shoes and layers are still needed. Another favorite was one of the simplest: the black turtleneck with jeans, paired with the cocoon cardigan and OTK boots...perfect for sipping mulled wine by a bonfire. The one that didn't "do it" for me was the blue slip dress over the heathered-gray sweater. I think if both pieces were the same color, even at different depths, the contrasting textures would look more intentional and harmonious. I'm loving your revamped wardrobe! (PS--was the blue dress gathering at your knees? If it was from static, an old-fashioned full- or half-slip would solve that. Amazon has them. For this particular dress, do not use anti-static spray. It might leave "water" marks on the luster of the material.)

Love the color! Thank you for doing a colorful wardrobe. This content is needed and I can relate so much better to a color-filled capsule concept. I am really liking navy/blue and deep green as a color combo right now. I like the straight leg jeans. The only top I didn't love with them was the purple one. Maybe felt a little too simple? Hmm, can't quite put my finger on it. That was the only outfit that gave me pause. Thanks for sharing in such a fun way!

I love that purple colour on you! The blue pleated skirt with the green top was an unexpected combo, but it looks really great! The navy and pink dress seems more versatile than I would have guessed for such a statement piece. Love your picks this season.

I was surprised too! I thought because of the cut of the dress it wouldn't layer well, but the fabric is so soft it works well under other things. Quickly becoming one of my favorite items in my wardrobe.

I wear fleece lined tights and I have two overcoats that I rotate, one wool and one down, both black. And then I have cashmere gloves and a wool hat, and some scarves. That’s usually enough!

I love the green top paired with the navy/blue dress and pleated skirt. That’s one of my fav color combos and I wear it often bc I’m a deep autumn and can pull off lots of deep winter colors also. I really loved the fuchsia sweater over he patterned dress also! I don’t super love the slouchy boots w the skirts and dresses tho.

I have to agree. The hemlines should be longer or shorter and not interplay with the top of the boots. Loved the dress! Girlie dresses look silly on me but the light flowy fabric combined with the bright pink /deep blue - stunning. I think your body is much more suited to the skinny jean cut - you have a tiny waist like me and that hour glass shape is so complimentary on you. Thank You So Much for ALL of your style tips! I'm having a hard time getting used to straight leg jeans- love them as dress pants, but not as jeans. Great outfits, although the silk slip dress was getting caught in the top of the boots. Favorite was the turtleneck, jeans, boots and cardi. Everything looked amazing, and the colors were wonderful!

Sadly, silk gets staticky! Rubbing a dryer sheet on the wrong side of the fabric helps, or look for a spray like Static Guard.

I've picked up tips from you here and there, but I would love a video dedicated to tips on how to create a versatile capsule wardrobe with mostly/all dresses. It's what I have been attempting to do for almost a year now and it is really tricky to not get bored and feel like I'm wearing the same thing over and over.

Looking good in your “Winter” palette. I would suggest a pair of navy, just-below the knee boots that will stop that bunching of the silk dress. Also because navy is in your palette, and such a great basic, I think you’ll wear them a lot. Spraying the inside of the dress lightly with Static-Guard will help, too, to reduce clinging to your legs (tights under?). But do it quickly outside, five minutes before wearing, the fumes are annoying! (Yes, it’s safe for silk, I checked with the manufacturer originally, wear lots of silk, and have been doing it for decades).

These videos are so helpful when it comes to styling. I'm in awe of the editing on these lookbook videos too. So well done. I must say, the super cute looks with the navy satin slip dress and the over the knee black boots might not be practical on the day to day as it looks like the boots tend to munch on the hem of the dress. That might prove annoying.

You look even more beautiful in your correct colors. This is why I always suggest a professional color analysis for everyone, it’s the best wardrobe and style investment, ever. My sister and I were lucky, our Mom treated us to one (Color Me Beautiful) in the early 80s (I was about 21), it’s been so useful for 40 years! I don’t know exactly how much a pro analysis costs, but I don’t think they’re very expensive, about the cost of two outfits? They save one tons of money in the long run, because they prevent so many purchasing mistakes. A lot of time something just feels drab, or not right, it might be the color is wrong. I don’t know about the combined color analysis and styling courses, I would want to see thorough training and credentials for the personal styling aspect, too. A lot of amateur, untrained stylists only push their own personal style, age and body shape and don’t understand the artistic principles underlying styling (proportions, line, shapes, scale, etc.).

How are you liking the over the knee boots? I ordered a pair and wondered what you thought of them now that you have been using them? It looks like they slide a little which is fine. Just wondering if annoying or ok?

I’m really loving them, but they do slide a little for me because my legs don’t fill up the whole boot :/ with pants they are perfect, but with skirts I need tights so they can grab onto something.

I'd love to see some of the lower contrast (eg green with black) outfits with a silver belt (for example) to bring a little more contrast. But love these looks, especially these colours on you! That dress is perfection!

You are gorgeous and there were some great outfits, but I do feel many are a bit dated. Skinny jeans and booties are the signature 2010s look for sure. Also, I think there are many updated prints available these days vs. animal print. Although some would say animal print never dies. 😊 I also feel like the midi skirts needed a higher heeled, sleeker boot, as the over the knee boots with slouchy ankles don’t mesh well with midi skirts. Overall, I like the style of video, with numerous outfit ideas and minimal talking!

Mmm I would say they have some brown accents, but they do not look fully brown. More like taupe!
