Really enjoy your videos i don't tie jigs but i want to start and your videos are vefy informative and you explain what to do other guys put on music and dont even tell you what to do keep up the great videos ill keep watching thanks jim
Thank you for sharing this video. I use a small clear cable tie in place of the copper wire and it works great at holding the skirt in place. I use a cable tie tension tool to clamp down on the cable tie and the tool cuts the tag end at the same time. I want to try your method to see how that works. Thanks again.
Thanks for your comment!!! I have looked at bass jigs done with cable ties and it does work well. I don't use them because they have a little bulkier look to them.
Great video! Just one quick question, who do you buy your swim jigs heads from? I have been looking around but all of them I see are either expensive or have a super heavy weed guard
Thank you for watching!!!! I got the O-rings at my local ACE Hardware store but you don't need that many. If you have one O-ring it will work but you can only make 1 skirt at a time, having 5 rings means you can pre-make 5 skirts.
The floral wire I've used in the past is 24 gauge and is usually green but not plastic coated. If you have a hobby store near you look for Darice craft wire in 24 or 26 gauge, I recommend 24 if you never tied with wire as the 26 will break easier.
I love the mottled white/gray on that swim jighead. Wire tying is useful for when you use real rubber skirts. They rot out or just get all funked up and melted and if it's wire tied the skirt can be removed and replaced with fresh rubber on that same jighead
