If you stand say 10-15 ft away and talk, how well would it (ECM-LV1) pick up? I need an inexpensive "plugin power" equipped mic solution to connect to a security camera. I'm not expecting quality audio or for what's being said to be legible - I just want to pickup general noise in the space being monitored. If you have any other ideas, I'm all ears.

The mic is good. On Sony a6000 I found it to be working excellent in Mix and Reciever mode. However sound quality dips considerably, when using the only transmitter unit and there is a constant white noise when no one speaks. Still it is better than built in mic. In Mix moder however, it is quite loud and clear and voice level can also be controlled from transmitter unit itself. Receiver only is also very loud and clear.

SONY INDA, Hindi is not either national language or a official language. There are 122 official languages. The official language of India is English. If you market it only Hindi speaking states. 60% of Indians don't speak and know Hindi. I strongly object your unconstitutional marketing. Kindly post video in other languages or Indian English.
