@@bruce6rt yes. provided you have a SRAM compatible chain.

@@Bangbangboom51 nope...if running Shimano cassette and chainring, you'll need a Shimano chain as well.

@@michiganstate149 there's some decent chain brands that's are cross compatible with sram and shimano chainring and cassettes such as KMC and PYC. There's definitely more but couldn't remember them all.

Were still talking about a 450€ derailieur. Better than before, but still expensive as hell.

theres no inherent "problem". For Pro racers however, wireless droppers and deraillers make it a lot easier for mechanics in say ews to replace a torn off derraileur or a failing dropper post. It also eliminates any changes in shift quality when the frame is flexing, and provides more accurate shifting. For the masses, i doubt it will be worth it, but theres definitely people who will be a fan of this.

I usually go trails and downhill park on the same bike. For dh park, I do have a spare set of tougher wheels, and I do remove anything that I don't use at the park - a chain, rear cassette (spare wheel does not have it), a derailleur, droppler. This makes the bike much lighter, especially the unsprung masses. So with wireless shifting and droppler the "DH rebuild" takes just 5 minutes, while with wires - you know. Invested here, saved on 2nd bike.

@@MAXlMUS yeah, there’s definitely other advantages to it, i just meant the main ones, for me personally i have an ads dropper for 3 bike since one of them failed on me, and my trail bike didn’t come with one. so i sold the working dropper and paid 500 for 3 bikes. so yeah there’s reasons to have axs. i might even get the gx axs when my 11 speed nx drivetrain is work out so i can just swap the derailleur from bike to bike

My point exactly. I've been mountain biking for over 25 years with a fleet of bikes at any given time. About half the bikes I've owned I've built and I'm in the middle of building one right now. I've ridden on all sorts of terrain all year round in all four seasons and not once have I ever had a problem that a wireless system would have prevented. However, I have heard and seen many occasions of people who do have wireless systems running out of battery power because they forgot to charge them or some other technical issues. I again say wireless shifting systems are a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Pros use them because they get them for free from their sponsors and it helps them advertise. If they were to fund their own equipment I bet not many will even bother as any advantage is minimal compared to the cost and technical risk.

No one said anything about solving problems. If you can afford it, wireless is much more convenient setup wise and works way better under heavy load. Only downside is the 20h battery life.

This will only work with 12-speed drivetrains. The spacing between cogs on an 11-speed cassette is different.

Mmm for me and most people thats fine second gear you can climb most stuff and if you change to first you are probably tired so the difference is not that much and to me its fine having a little more cadence sonetimes

yeah this low gear sizing is all marketing hype and it's getting out of control. I'm happy my newest bike still came with the 50t. I can't imagine the cadence jump from 42 to 52 tooth, and worse going from 52 up to a 42 tooth. You'd have to spin at like 100rpm to keep it anywhere close to 80 rpm after the shift, sounds like a nightmare to me.

Check with the people who have made the switch. The ones I know would never go back.

it doesn't auto-tune, but tuning is incredibly easy and fine-tuning derailleur position can be done for every cog on the cassette.

Yes. Only SRAM 10-50, 10-52, and 11-50 tooth 12spd cassettes will work with this kit

There is no trim per gear. SRAM has stated it already. No AXS review ever mentions it.

Smart enough not to use even a small rock. We all know this thing will bust easy with a hit on a rock. It is strange that one would put on such a delicate item on a bike that you know is used for riding in harsh terrain.

you just pedal it like a single speed noob. And by the way, it has a low battery warning light indicator which will blink for hours before the battery is completely drain.

Cable stretch, cable breakages, cable routing, outer cable rot, gummy cables, slower shifting. Plus axs only requires a tiny press for actuation.

With my NX I could never get it to work flawlessly. Neither could my bike shop. Worked for a while then needed adjustment all the time. I use archer now and have set it up once and haven’t needed to adjust it for almost a year now. With micro adjustment you can really dial it.
