I got a LUBA from the original Kickstarter and it works great. I also have trees around my property. However, I do limit the amount of mows because of the limited charge\discharge cycles on all Lithium Ion batteries.
Thanks, I’m glad you love your LUBA. Most robot mower batteries get between 500 and 1000 full battery cycles before they start to diminish their capacity. So depending on how many cycles you do per day, typically a robot mower battery lasts between 1 year for really high usage and 3-4 years for low usage. Some batteries like the Worx Landroid batteries last for 2000 cycles. They do this by reducing the minimum and maximum charge rate.

All new 5000 models are now delivered with front Omniwheels in Europe. Do you think this will apply to Australia as well once the Luba becomes available?
Hi Franz, no the Australian AWD5000 will have the front tyres the same as the rear tyres. This may change in the future but the first shipment will be without the Omni wheels. Thanks.
@@KarlWang-q3e It’s great to know what model will be delivered to Australia. (There was some confusion in Europe/USA when the new wheels were introduced) Personally I’m not sure if the new wheels would be better or worse. They might struggle a bit more with steep slopes and have a higher potential for things to get caught in them but would be gentler on the lawn when turning. Also I saw some reports about broken front axles upon delivery, not sure if the design has been improved to reduce the likelihood for this to happen with the new wheels
LUBA currently will send a notification to the LUBA app on your phone, but the app needs to be open to see the notification. LUBA will release push notification in future update, but currently ther is no push notifications. These notifications are also dependant on the robot being within your WiFi range.
@@robotlawnmowersaustralia7913 How do you keep track of the mower on large lawns when not in WiFi range. Supposing you wish to anytime, at all times where the mower is and what it's current state/status is, if there's no WiFi at the current mower location, my guess is you have no clue where you're at. I've not yet found an answer to this question.
@@studio_w if the robot is outside the range of the wifi then it will still continue to work as it is programmed. It will not however be able to send you any information of its current status. You will not be able to connect to the robot remotely, but will still be able to connect to the robot via Bluetooth, but you will need to be within about 10-20mt of the robot to do this.

Hi Bart, I opened up LUBA yesterday and I will release a video of it shortly. There is no hardware behind the SIM slot, just a SIM holder. So currently it doesnt look like any LTE connection is comming.
