There are certainly some bad experiences out there. I don't know your specific experiences, but I believe the customers that have these negative experiences simply just don't have the support they need. And maybe given the right advice before purchase they may have found that another product would be more suitable for them. Or that no Robot Mower would be suitable. Thanks for sharing.
is there a reset button inside? I have a update failure at 69% at my new Yuka, now nothing works anymore, hes dead, stuck in the update.. dont want to send it in :D
Sorry there is no reset button inside. If your Yuka has failed its update and you are now unable to connect to the robot via BT or WiFi then all you can do is cycle the power to see if you can get the connection back. If you get the connection back then you should be able to restart the update process and hopefully it update ok.
@@robotlawnmowersaustralia7913 mammotion seid, there could be a bug that bricks the updateprocess. They don't know yet, but we testet everything possible and nothing works. I will get a new one
The Mammotion Luba seriously sucks!!!! It is Chinese so..... I probably wouldn't have purchased it if I knew it was Chinese. I have always had bad experiences with Chinese Products. They never perform as stated by the company. They seem to always be about image but have no substance. I purchased one of these a year ago and it was difficult to set up but I eventually got it. There were many issues with this thing but I managed to work around them. Tech support was almost non existent. The only place to get support is chatting through their app and that is buggy and constantly loses connection. You have to wait for a tech to answer because they are constantly "experiencing a high volume of inquiries" and you have to wait in a queue that tells you your position in that queue. The queue can magically grow and your position moves backwards (like from 2 to 14). Once you get the chat with a tech, you can magically get disconnected when the suggested fixes don't fix anything and the problem proves the be more difficult than a restart. I figured maybe it was just new stuff and should get better with time and updates. Yeah right!! This was the situation when I purchased the unit a year ago. Now with all their upgrades it actually seems to have gotten worse. Now their GPS location system seems to vary by more than a foot and as much as two feet. In places where I had spotty location info a year ago now have no location fix at all. And yet they still have 22 to 27 co view of the satellites. The RTX is viewing the entire sky and sees 39-40 satellites. So if they can't get by with 50% or more co viewed satellites, the tech must be flawed. And don't get me started on the app. You have to use the phone app to do everything with this robot. The app started out clunky and just got retarded with each update. Side Note: This thing keeps an open connection to a Chinese server. A high security risk to have with a country that has vowed to hack the USA. This is a great idea but the execution is abysmal. It isn't getting better either; it just keeps getting worse. I don't know how to express my dissatisfaction with this product any better without starting to use bad language. So I'll stop here. Bottom line: If you want more headaches in your life, switch from manual mowing to this piece of crap robot!!!!
Don't buy anything from this company, I just learned that just because I bought a Neomow s from one of their youtube testers, I can't buy any spare parts for it! so it's like Mercedes doesn't sell or spare parts for their cars to those who buy them used!!! this is commercial madness. avoid being scammed. 😡😡😡
Sorry to hear your experience. Unfortunately when purchasing these product through Amazon or directly from the manufacturer, support is often not very good. As a local dealer we only sell products that we can carry spare parts and support our customers. For this very reason we didn’t stock this product. My front axle broke with it just being set down. My wife must have put it down on an angle. So I have to disagree with you in how strong it is. Also, the customer service is horrible. I'm 2 weeks with no response. I do not recommend dealing with this company. Invest in a Yarbo

Since the last latest update, major update I believe it was at the end of June. I’ve gotten that out of position every time I’ve gone into manual mode. It’s a bug with the update manual. When you hit to solve, it will start mowing.
Product might be good, but their idea of customer service is awful. They took payment and are now refusing to ship because they want more money first! An extra £350 after purchase! It's just an insane situation

Do any of the mowers allow for the use of multiple RTK sources to improve use in low-coverage zones (or to increase chance of shared-view of satellites?)
Apparently it's not easy to get a straight answer on the internet that you can just solder the wire and secure it carefully from moisture. It's an obvious thing to do but since I'm not an electrical engineer I started doubting my sanity 😀 Anyway, that's a useful movie, thanks!
How can they sell it for 1300m2 lawn coverage if the battery is drained after 30 min and did not cover even 100 m2? The worst buy ever for us. Besides we bought it from Brico in Europe for 2k while Amazon sells it for 1.5k at the moment (July 2024). We just saw it yesterday. Huge financial loss besides it does not do the job. 22 cm wide mowning, each 30 min to swap batteries, avoids edges, avoids grasses higher than 10 cm, zig zags without logic 4 times on the same spot not covering other spots. It takes 6 hours to do 80% of a 500 m2 plot. I am behind manual the lawn mower again. Absolutely outrageous. 😢
It sounds like your experience has been terrible because no one gave you the right advice to begin with. This robot does mow around 85m2 per hour worked so your experience of 6 hours is inline with the specifications for this robot mower. The battery should definitely last more than 30mins though. It should run for around 90mins and even longer, but it must only be cutting 5mm of grass off or less. They are designed to mow every day and to reach the capacity of 1300m2 the robot would need to work around the clock 7 days a week. That is how they are designed to work. I hope you are able to get the robot working better in the future. Thanks for sharing your experience.
That's no problem for a 'manual' mowing system, but the ideal robot system is fully automated so you don't have to worry about when the mower goes out.
Other than it being a manual task, you can absolutely just remote it out to the lawn and start mowing. It will then return to charge and continue to mow all day until it gets dark.
My robot shuts down shortly after it 'stops working', even with lots of battery left. It's really annoying since I'm far away from it, and can't just go there and fix it. There is no way to remotely power it up through sms, which is a shame. Also, it can not be remotely driven from far away. You need bluetooth to drive it. Again, it's a shame since many times it needs to calibrate the position by driving it around, when it has lost GPS.... and it can't autocalibrate by driving some meters back the same path it came... which would be possible if it remembered the last ... say 25 meters, it drove... All in all, the robot can not be managed from far away... it has the technology to do it. It's just not mature enough. You have to be prepared to travel to the location every time it 'stops working'...
From what I see around the world on youtube, we seem to be pretty lucky in Australia for the amount of GNSS satellites we see in the sky most of the time.
@@robotlawnmowersaustralia7913 Since the last update in germany I have to wait about 3 minutes for repositioning. Can drive around manually, but nothing happens. And then in this video - "Bam, oh i'm here"
You are correct, we didn't explain this in this video. But we doe much the same thing and have two wires coming out one end of the joint. We also put some E6000 glue inside the heat shrink to ensure it seals perfectly around the twin cables.
I wish I could answer this better for you, but you are right the cost of the bigger battery would be insignificant. It is just marketing, they make low profit on the smaller models and high profit on the larger models.
In Australia you can buy these on our website at the following link: robotlawnmowers.com.au/robot-lawn-mowers/other-accessories/underground-wire-locator-nf-826/ Outside of Australia I don't know, but if you google Noyafa NF-826 I would hope you would find someone.
I'm sorry to hear this story. You are very correct though, as Ambrogio do not support the dealers very well and this is why most dealers will not service robots that are sold by another dealer.
The boundary wires are usually 2-5cm under the ground and this meter will test up to 1.5 meters under the ground. So the results would be the same. For the purpose of the video and teaching people how the detector works, showing it on the surface I believe helps.
Thank you for your video. Sadly, you were right the first time: it doesn't work. My robot won't leave it's station when there is no or weak sattelite signal, despite what you shown in your video. I'm on the latest firmware and app version. I contact Mammotion , with a link to this video. The answer was: "GPS is needed to enter or to leave the charging station.". Exact reply below. I don't know why you got it working differently, but I don't and Mammotion confirms it shouldn't work. REPLY-BY-MAMMOTION: Hi. Currently when the LUBA 2 is mowing during daytime operations, even if the RTK signal is weak (showing float or single), the vision module will function effectively, allowing the LUBA 2 to operate smoothly. But the channel that the LUBA return and out the station is still relied on the GPS signal. And the functions related to the vision module are undergoing further improvements. Thank you for your understanding and patience. Feel free to reach out to us if you require any additional assistance.
Thanks for sharing that. We have been contacted by quite a few people around the world reporting similar results to your. So I have been testing this further to see how reliably it works here in Australia, and the results are that it works about 90% of the time. I have posted another video on this today, so I would very much like to know exactly where your robot fails to reset after it has light again in the morning. Here is the link to the new video where I tested it over two weeks. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-__eXamnCdaI.html We do talk directly with the Mammotion R&D team and although they are not releasing this function officially, it definitely works here in Australia and hopefully once they lock the position of the robot when it is on the charging station , then it will hopefully work for everyone. Thanks.
Very bad brand, 1000 problems (I called the after-sales service several times without being able to get an answer regarding the robot's problems, or warranty coverage). A Chinese scam!
Sorry you are having issues with your Landroid and the Worx after sales. The Worx robot mowers are very reliable machines. As do all robots, they do have limitations and things they are good at and things they are not good at. For the Worx Landroid they are not good at slopes on the borders. Other than that we find them to be incredibly reliably robots. I believe if you were receiving good technical support from the dealer you purchased this from you would have a much better experience with the product. Buying from a dealer that is experienced can be the difference between it being the best thing you ever bought, and the worst. Thanks for sharing your experience.
This provide different signal frequencies. It is not often used when locating boundary wire breaks, but can be used if you are having issues with the default frequency.
This is worst product I bought for long time. It is so stupid it is hard to describe. Gets stuck all the time, looses connection, the beacons sometimes disconnect, map is somewhat incorrect, edges does not cut, hard to get one day without issues. Terrible product, please avoid at any cost!
Sorry you have had such a bad experience with this robot. This robot is not one I would recommend for any area that has slopes or uneven terrain (assuming your robot gets stuck because of this). Edge cutting is not one of its best strengths as I pointed out in this video, but hopefully it will get better over time with firmware update. Unless your robot actually has a fault, then I would suggest it was probably never the right robot or your property. I really hope where ever you purchase the robot from is providing adequate technical support and advice on why you are having so many issue with it. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Yes this was a simple test area for the G1. It was mostly to learn how consistent and reliable the robots functionally was. This robot is rated in Australia for 600m2 and as long as the area is relatively flat with not too many obstructions, it will work the same way as it did in this test. As soon as your area becomes more complicated, then this robot may not be the right choice . That is not to say this robot is not able to manage complexed areas, because it can. But, from our experience with Australian customers when the lawn areas require many beacons to combat different levels and areas that are not in view of other areas then this robot can be more difficult to get working consistently.
At least on the bigger Models (L Series, 1300m² and 1600m²) you can NOT start mowing until you run through the lawn exploration > the robot/app told me, I have to do that first! And that's the frustrating part about it, in the exploration mode the robot has to folow the perimeter of the lawn but if he fails to do that because he couldn't find an edge it ends up stuck and abborts the exploration and you need to do it all over again! It took me a whole day to get that to work once just to have it do it's job > mow the lawn. If your area isn't plain, all green and surrounded by walls, a thik hedge or concrete tiles the Vision will most likely fail to find his way. My Vision L took about 1/2 hour looking for an edge on reseeded area, he just failed to find his way around / through and kept trying it over and over. That's stupid. Oh yes, you can use the magnetic strips to guide him around right? NO because you only get 10 m magnetic band with the bigger models, that's a joke because most 1300-1600m² gardens will need more than that. For my reseeded area I would already need about 15-20 m of these strips. Buying more is NOT and option if you see the price. So yeah, get a robot with cables instead, it works better and is cheaper ...
Yes we have received similar comments from our customers, however it can be overcome by setting a small area to do the lawn explore to get it to the mowing stage and then it will still learn the lawn area when it is mowing. I do agree that on large lawns that would require a lot of magnetic strip to contain the robot, then this may not be the best solution. My biggest piece of advice for all robot mower customers, is seek professional advice before buying a robot mower. With so many different types of robots and wireless technology it is getting more and more difficult for the buyer to select the robot that suits their yard the best. The marketing on most of these robots can be difficult to navigate (to say it politely). Thanks for sharing your experience.
@@robotlawnmowersaustralia7913 if only they would listen to professional advice… my parents bought the Vision without asking, someone told them that it would work and so they bought it despite I told them many times that you can’t just buy a random robot without checking all the details beforehand…
Does it affect the lawnmower that you were walking in front of it? I mean when it tried to go through the difficult section. I was thinking the camera could get confused by your legs maybe?
Short answer is yes, certainly when mapping it pays to stay out of the way of Luba. We are still testing how well mapping works when we shroud the GNSS receiver totally so it is not mapping with a combination of both GNSS and vision camera. Hopefully we can show some good results in future videos.
Just a heads up, mine has been on the charger all night, and this morning my position status went from "fix" to "float" and my camera icone said 82 feet, which is 25 meters. It did not say zero meters BUT I'm in a different situation than your test, mine arrived at the charger with gnss signal, sat in the dark overnight, and simply lost satellite signal because the satilties moved. If this is not a fluke, this is great news for everyone who wants to put the charger up against their house or under a deck where it will get occasional positioning fixes.
Thanks. it sounds like you still have just enough GNSS signal at your charging station for LUBA to occasionally be able to position its self. That is why it shows 82ft on your app. So you should have no issues with it returning to work every day after it goes dark. We also posted another video on this today - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-__eXamnCdaI.html
I believe we all work with the same firmware, however I do think it works better here for some reason. We posted another video on this today - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-__eXamnCdaI.html
I asked Mammotion this, “Why can’t the mover leave the station with poor positioning. A lot of users have a roof over the mover (or would like a roof). Once the mover leaves the charging station it gets great positioning.”, but got this reply: “That's because the robot cannot "forecast" if there will be a FIX signal when leaving the dock and what will happen then. Additionally, if there are any unexpected obstacles, it may be at high risk of damaging itself or causing unforeseen damage.” I then asked what the actual risk is and they said this: “The LUBA works primarily based on the RTK. This isn't specifically targeted at your situation, but in some cases, users may create a long channel before the LUBA reaches the mowing area.”
Thanks for sharing. It is sometimes a little difficult to get a clear answer from the Mammotion call center team. We have been testing this further and we posted another video on this today - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-__eXamnCdaI.html. But there certainly are many people around the world reporting it simply doesn't work for them. Hopefully Mammotion will lock the position of the robot when on the charging station and it should hopefully then work for every one.
How do you reset the charger location when it doesn't have access to satellites? When I've tried it without satellite coverage I get a message that it can't reset the charger location. I'm using the 'reset-charger-location' option in the app. It might be doing that wrong.
You will need to make sure the robot has a good position with a FIX position status on your lawn. Then remote control the robot to the charging station very slowly and reverse it on to the charger. Once it hits the charging contacts it will ask you if you have moved the charger. Click yes to moving the charger and it should then be located in the correct position.
This is great, i would not have thought they would enable this without putting it in the notes! Glad you caught it! This is a very handy feature if it works consistently.
Thanks, We posted another video on this today - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-__eXamnCdaI.html Mammotion are not releasing this as a function yet as it is not 100% reliable.
Thanks for the in-depth testing you are doing. I was able to put our charging station on the covered patio where we have electrical outlets for a much cleaner install. Before the last firmware update I would have to manually drive the Luba out of the patio until it got good gps to start mowing. I believe this update will solve that. Have to give Mammotion credit for solving problems!
Thanks, Mammotion are constantly improving the products, We posted another video on this today - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-__eXamnCdaI.html This function is working for me around 90% reliable.
Got my mower last week, thanks for the quick delivery! This video is timely as I am just building a little garage for Luba. Have a frame built and was just looking at what to clad it with. I've read previously you shouldn't use colorbond as it blocks the GNSS. The fact that it drives out with no signal would that mean that it should work fine even when docking and undocking in complete dark - as it will get signal as soon as it leaves? . Or would it be safest to go with different materials. Was looking at 4.5mm HardieFlex (fibre cement) but that might also block signal
Yes it should still work ok no matter what product you put over it. We posted another video on this today - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-__eXamnCdaI.html This is working about 90% reliably. If you do install yours with no GNSS signal on the charger, please send me an email reporting your experience. Or post here what you found. Thanks.
We haven't been able to test Yuka yet, but I would imagine it should work in a similar way. We posted another video on this today - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-__eXamnCdaI.html I have seen from other youtubers that the Yuka GNSS receiver doesn't appear to work as well as Luba does for now.
Update it works the first day several times, but overnight it thought it moved out of the area, my current guess is that I still has some GPS reception but bad one and thinks it moved of the charging station
@@headshotke yes my thoughts are the same. Having connection to any satellites and the robot thinks it is outside the area after many hours of not having a fix. Mammotion have said there is a new fw for Luba 2 soon and there are some changes that might help.
Wow amazing useful video, thanks planning to buy a robot and would love to park it under the my roofed and closed of terras, so it's protect from the elements. But was a bit worried that would not work, I do get poor signal of gps there with my phone, but seeing this video convinced me this would just work!
No, you can only connect one rtk base to each robot mower. You can connect more than one robot to one antenna. This is the case for all robot mower brands that have rtk based technology.
This might seem to be a weird thing to be concerned about, but are you able to change the tone or volume of those beeps in the app? Coz that really hurt my ears!
@@robotlawnmowersaustralia7913 that will work well enough. I actually decided I could deal with the beeps if I had to and ordered one from you a few hours ago! Very excited!
