I think it's a really advanced form of puppetry basically motorized puppets that are that are operated by a radio controller and for this kind of puppet that's usually done for the head

The hat's face and movements saying "yes" at 1:10 is more expressive than most CGI I've seen in the last 20 years and it's practically a sock puppet. We need more of this in contemporary fantasy movies.

I just referenced it. I was telling someone they need to rest from an injury a little longer. Lol I think in the movie he was just trying dissuade Sara from getting to the center of the labrynth, like most creatures save her few in the labrynth...Although she did kinda end up going back to all her toys in her room, before getting to the center. Hmmm🤔

@shannon9009 2 года назад
@@mineonlyedwardcullen "The way forward, is sometimes the way back." - To look to the future, to understand where you are going in life, you have to understand yourself and where you came from. In order to go forward in life you have to understand what you want, where you're going, and why, and all of that comes from the stories of your past. Before actually ending up in the Labyrinth Sarah had wished for the Goblin King to take her baby brother. Before even that though, she'd been practicing the lines and she could never remember one of them... "You have no power over me." At the end of the movie that's the line she needs to remember in order to essentially defeat the riddle of the Labyrinth and get her brother back. The symbolism of that moment is a culmination of everything she's learned up until that point, she remembers the line because she realizes it is true...Jareth has no actual power over her. This is one of the few characters in the entire Labyrinth that actually was giving her good advice, but the bird on top of his head was attempting to lead her astray the same way as so many other creatures.

I I always loved watching this film growing up. This scene in particular was a favourite of mine. It was only years later as an older teen that I understood the subtext in the old man's reaction to seeing Sarah for the first time. It almost seems like a lecherous comment these days, but still pretty innocent & sweet. Of course, you would not be able to have a comment like that in a fantasy kids film these days! A shame we all get stifled creatively just because some nutjob at Paramount thinks the worse of innocent comments.

Few people know that in reality that Jareth is good in this story is true ... kidnaps children, only the most beautiful, to turn them into Goblin, but only to save them from death, when her sister decides to kill his brother, and that's what it would happen that night. When intervenes gives always the option to redeem the child, and is it what he hopes to happen every time, that the person who faces difficult at times almost impossible tests, in order to awaken the affection she felt for the little brother who has kidnapped, succeed in the attempt. He seems to be attracted to and in love with the girl but in reality it is not, is part of the game, it's just a test. In the final with her sister who chooses his brother ends another win for the Goblin King ... he will enjoy the party for the girl and her brother watching them from the window in the form bird of prey. If it seems strange because you do not know how he thinks a Goblin ... their King then ...
