One of my friends told me about the website Wish. I decided to check it out, and found a few pretty neat items. As of 2017, it is now legal in Illinois to carry a switchblade, as long as you have a FOID card. So for this Wish unboxing video, we have a Benchmade OTF wooden handle knife. Now one thing to note about Wish, the items you find on there can be very inexpensive. They are mostly knockoff items made in China. The other thing is, they may actually be pretty decent, especially for the price. Now this video is the first knife I received from Wish. I did order a few other knifes, plus a few other goodies that you may have seen already in one of my LSPDFR livestreams.

He chose that spot as it stood a good chance the work crew from the local jail would adopt that area as a clean up zone. So the trash he just discarded on the ground just doesn’t blow around it get cleaned up. Something tells me he’s done this before. Moving in though I think it was strategy and why he should be a general in the army. Plus soldiers would all get well lubricated wish knock-off knives as standard issue equipment at large savings to tax payers.

@@mikegoldenGames We can carry any style of a blade in India ... you can design a blade that shoots out of your dick when you get a boner and it will not be illegal here. *It is illegal in India* to carry a knife (blade) beyond 9 inches long and 2 inches wide, as it comes under the ambit of the definition of “prohibited arms” under The Indian Arms Act 1959. Carrying the kind of knife which is below 9 inches in length and 2 inches in width is thus allowed. So size does matter after all who knew!? So although we can carry this OTF style blade I have zero ideas as to why you would want to. What purpose or functionality does it display? I only see a gimmick with a weak/short blade that will have a short novelty value of the sound you hear *sccccccccccccccchick* when it is deployed. It is not a survival knife/bushcraft/combat/dive/SRK ... what does it do effectively other than do the *sccccccccccccccchick* sound reasonably well? I am confused!

@@matthewhoward4549 at that point its less of a knife and more of a sword, like carrying a fucking scimitar xD OTF knives are good for utility uses. If you're at work and you need to cut open a box, it ends up being much faster than a folder, and much safer than a fixed blade. I could also see it being useful for law enforcement and emergency services, as they could quickly open and close their blade in a pinch. Its nice to be able to keep the blade in the handle when you don't need it, but to have it out when you do

mikegolden Games to much oil. It only takes a small drop of oil on the blade. Then work it back and forth a couple of times and it will spread the oil through out the internal system

You've got to take the tension off the blade before opening it. Just open it against a cardboard box and the spring will disengage. There is pressure on the spring when open and in shut position. You should be able to dismantle it completely after that. As for that loose part that won't screw in anymore, I'm afraid you probably stripped it when trying to remove the button under spring pressure. Then you just pull on the blade to reengage it. Most OTF's I've seen were like that anyway.

Otf knives like to run more or less dry. Don't over oil them like that

You need to take it apart and clean it out good with some spray cleaner compatible with all the different material in the knife. Maybe a gun parts cleaner in aerosol can. Get all the metal shavings and grit from the machining left from the factory and THEN oil it. It will probably function smoother. Or while you have it apart inspect the contact surface and touch it up with fine stone or needle file and improve any machining that was not done well and then clean and oil. I have done that to a few of my cheap switchblades and now they function beautifully.

Thank you for the video. I have that clone Benchmade OTF and I really like it but I know it will break and it was good seeing how you dismantled it. I also note that the blade quality of my Wish Benchmade is poor. I have to sharpen it quite a bit. My daughter bought me a Benchmade 9400 Osborne auto, a bonafide Benchmade, and the blade quality is insane. I am, however, afraid to use it because I don’t want to mess it up. Thanks again for the video. Ignore the trolls. Long nails are important when you work on small stuff so I get it. The women, however, may run the other way. Just saying.

I have the exact same one. No problems with mine. Took it apart did some small tlc on it and its still awsome and working exelent. Im going to mod mine with g10 scales and darken the s.steel with acid wash. Awsome knife.

I have what looks like the same knife. It has no name on it but it’s pretty much the he same knife. The blade is loose when it’s all the way out so this video shows me what to look forward too.

I have the same knife and also had the spinning "piece" problem you had. That is in actuality the head of a screw that holds the barrel sleeve that accepts the screw from the switch, Very simple permanent solution was to put alot of Loctite on that screw and no Loctite on the screw that holds the switch. However, you may find it difficult to do that to yours now that you filled the screw head with epoxy.😒

You should do opposite. Add LOCTITE to screw/threads not oil. Use dry oil on insides. Take entirely apart & buff all pieces w/a Dremel rotary tool & buff attachment

I had the metal handle "Infidel" a few weeks ago and just got my infidel wooden handle this week because I sold the other one. Yes, both are "wish" clones, but i have never reall had a problem with mine. The blade has a very minimal amount of play while open, but for 30 bucks I won't complain. Hahaha. Just for future reference, if you want to take the clip off the knife, just stick a paperclip or something similar thru the window break at the bottom and unscrew it. Oh and the way you couldn't get the switch screw out... Next time try sliding another blade CAREFULLY under the switch itself. It puts pressure enough on that pin it screws into to get the screw itself to spin without the pin moving around on you. Its refreshing to see someone who isn't afraid to open a blade with so many moving parts. And since you opened yours and showed me all the goddamn shavings that are probably in MINE... now i gotta open mine. Which means buying a new precision screwdriver set because i lost my #6 bit. Oh darn. I get to... I mean HAVE to buy new tools... 😁 Thanks for the video, brother.

If you want to go cheap, try WD-40. I only use QuantumCoat though. Best stuff I have ever used.

I got the same one, but I took it completely apart and cleaned it thoroughly (used a tooth brush and a few qtips where I could), used dry oil (the types they use for sewing machines works very well) literally slathered it and then used a rag to remove it and leave a very thin residue of it. Now it functions flawlessly. No failures. Has some blade play though, but for 30 bucks it works. I also cleaned up the wood and looks much better. Honestly that's the really bad thing about Chinese knives of this type, they tend to be hit or miss in quality and they do not clean them. They just literally throw them together. Almost every single one of these types I've bought I've had to take apart and clean..and T6...why. They strip too easy. Luckily I've had that only happen twice. T8s never had them strip.

Its actually a Benchmade knockoff. Benchmade never made this knife with a wooden handle or with a window breaker. Some Chinese company counterfeiting a decent knife company. Don’t believe me send it back to Benchmade for warranty repair. Good luck

I had the same knife arrive today, and it did not function, button would not move. I notified Wish, and they refunded the entire cost. Then I took it apart, and the spring had fallen off (quick fix)...Free knife....I am going to oil it as you suggested

I bought the exact same knife from wish. Looks identical to this one in video. Mine is marked BENCHMADE and on back D2 McHenry. $34 total. Best part is it was a few days late and I got a full refund. I'm curious if there's something I can do to make sure it stays working. I noticed the slide has a little play and I thought about tightening it? So far, it's not bad at all for a clone. I didn't get a BENCHMADE box like you did but got same sheath which is quality. Here's what I wonder...how are whoever is making these not getting busted for copyright and trademark laws,? I mean WISH has to know they are selling counterfeit knives.

I bought one of those at big R , but haven't had any problem with mine and the blade sharpens razor sharp. But iv only had it little bit better than a week , so I guess we'll see.

Love my Wish "Benchy" Infidel OTF. $14 has never purchased a better knife. Had it for MONTHS, and I have been abusively opening and closing it repeatedly since day 1. Wonderful knife for the money, TBH.

@@kevinmathis1278 Admittedly, I did take mine apart on day two of ownership, wiped out the oil and some dust from manufacturing, and left it entirely dry, so as to not provide a sticky, oily surface for crud to get all over. I've had mine in my pocket daily for a year now, and still no issues to report.

Ganzo makes some pretty decent knives (for a Chinese company). Dunno if they make OTFs though. I'm partial to Microtech for the real deal OTFs, but $$$. You get what you pay for.

I just picked one of these up at a flee market for $50. Figured it was a knockoff but it felt solid. Didn't realize wish has em for $8 though. I got got harder than I thought I was. :/

Wish has a bunch of knock off otf knives out of china. I.e. this knife, microtech knock offs, benchmades Infedel and pagen are made with better blade steel and dont have a trigger switch screw in the top. There are a bunch of subtle differences between a genuine one and knock offs. However still a decent knife for 42-58 bucks

With that stuff, you apply it then, then work the knife for a few hundred cycles, then clean all the oil off. QuantumCoat is not just an oil, it’s a diamond coating

They are crappy knives in short. Try to use the glass breaker and it measses up the two springs that lock the blade in place. Maybe worth $3.00...

That “rod” that “broke” is the “safety”........ kinda! It will keep the blade from shooting into your hand, leg or really anything you wouldn’t want a knife sticking into. It pops the blade off the springs and track. All you have to do to “fix” it is pull the blade out by hand until it clicks then it’ll be fine. That happens on pretty much all Dual Action OTF knives!

Right, but with this one, you pull the blade all the way and it does click back into position, but then any sharp movement, the blade gets free again.

That much lube will attract dust and metal shavings after sharpening (unless you clean the blade thoroughly after) The real Benchmade Infidel that this clone is based on is known for being a crappy over priced knife to begin with. The Microtech clones especially the new Halo 6 is a damn fine clone and worth every cent of the $50-$60 it costs on Wish.

I have the same wish fake, it frankly is well worth the 22 bucks. Blade play isn't great but neither is the real infidel (or pretty much all sub $1500 otf). Yes is can come off track if you misuse but again do does real infidel. All and all its 1/4th as good as a real infidel at 1/12th the price. If you wear gloves while working and need an aggressively stippled activator on and otf.....and dont want to spend $300 then this is a buy.

@@mikegoldenGames too bad it doesn't work better. I have a Benchmade Infidel mini and a couple of Hubertus lever switch blades which Pakistan makes copies made out of cheap steel. Cobratec makes decent otf knives for around $150.

Cheap Chinese Junk yet from my experience their junk is becoming better than American knives. My new $300 Microtech Dirac came in with a crooked blade, slop and a bunch of blade play. Yet the counterfeit as rock solid as possible for $220 less.

Knives are meant to be taken apart 😂 that's how you maintenance them. It's like saying that your car needs oil, but it's not meant for the oil cap to come off. Especially for this kind of knife where maintenance is an absolute must.

Still for 30 bucks you can’t go wrong but if you decide to wait and buy a high quality OTF there are reviews on RU-vid for some high quality budget options
