Despite parading through the halls of the Capitol as a handsome group to deliver their articles of impeachment for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, they appear to have fallen short again of producing the kind of political stunt that can boost Donald Trump's presidential campaign. Rep. Jamie Raskin discusses the Republican disarray as they try to find issues they can rally around that don't also push away voters.

I was just looking up how/if Citizens can have elected officials removed for lack of duties. There was something called “Recall Elections held in the U.S. for State Legislators. “Not sure how they work?There are pros and cons to them. It does say that citizens in each State should contact their Election Officials for specific procedures to be followed in any state. It did not provide any advice other than that. I do know that MTG’s seat in Georgias 14th Congressional District Primary election is May 21, 2024 and the General election is November 5, 2024. We can finally be rid of her this year! New Motto: MTG OUT THE DOOR 2024🇺🇸👍🏻

What did he explain? Did he explain that the "border bill" would add 100 more judges to process illegal immigrants? That it would give cities $1.4 billion of our taxes to cities around the US to pay for the influx of migrants? Did he explain that it would fund an additional 10,000 detention beds for ICE, bringing the total to 50,000? Please answer how any of these things fixes our open border issue, because Representative Goldman did not?

@jvoet123 Serious question. What policies for the last few decades have made the border “open?” Is it not having enough personnel to patrol the border? Is it the “catch and release” policy? Is it the lack of a wall? What policies make it “open” and, more importantly, what is the root cause of the policies that do so? The bipartisan border bill in question did a lot to address root causes if you look a layer or two deeper. And in case you think “decades” above is a mistake, can you point to any time in US history that the border has been “closed?” And if you can, can you identify what is different between that period and the present?
