First of all Ovechkin and Malkin are both better than Crosby, and I would pick either of them before I thought about Crosby. But the point in Wayne Gretzky never wen on the ice with out Mcsorely, and that was for his protection. That's how the league works, and how the players govern themselves. If you take a run at a star usually there's a fighter on the ice to make you pay. But it's a good hard hit, and clean, so there's nothing for anyone to complain about.

It's pathetic how Malone, along with everybody else had to (and probably still do) defend Crosby every time someone wrecks him on the ice. Given, Crosby is a goal scorer and an assist monger, but put him on the ice with a banger like Witt or Brashear, and he doesn't stand a chance, unless he has someone like Malone or his butt buddy Malkin to help him out. really it was a bad pass but i think the fight was unnecessary cause sid was fine so didnt need to fight u could if sid got hurt but he didnt so fight not needed
