In this deck tech we discuss strategy and card choices for a Wizard tribal deck lead by Azami, Lady of Scrolls. Decklist: www.moxfield.com/decks/Mr6tZX... Discord Group: / discord
Funny how week ago I ordered bunch of Azami cards and they arrived today and now this video appeared in front of me. Haven't had chance to try her yet but I am very excited!
Love the deck! So well put together and crafted I used your list to make my own deck. I did make a few substitutions: Jwari Disruption MDC I switched for Wizard’s Rebuke - I think wizard’s rebuke, while less flexible, gives us a definite counter to any spell for almost always 2 mana with all the wizards we are running. Sky Diamond I switched for Sol Ring. Coldsteel Heart I switched for Decanter of Endless Water - coldsteel heart coming in tapped doesn’t do it for me. I think we will have plenty of blue mana from our land package so the blue mana from our rock won’t be that significant. decanter of endless water provides a mana of ANY color (which could be useful if we steal a creature with activated abilities) taps the turn it comes in, and gives us unlimited hand size for the tons of draw we are getting.
Alhammarets is a little too expensive for my tastes. Isochron is definitely viable if you want to run it. I wouldn't run paradigm shift just for oracle because its a dead card outside of it.
"0 power commander ive been running for a decade plus " "oh hey in this deck we are attacking" me: (who has never once declared attackers at combat with this deck once) oh......
Inquisitor is a very cool effect if you can pull it off, but at 5 mana and requiring a considerable boardstate to be effective, it just didn't make the cut for me.
@@casual_commander it would be cool to see the effect in a black tribe like vampires or clerics at a lower tap cost. I am also thinking about slotting in talrand to combine with the other drake maker, to have a sizeable air force, especially with coat of arms.
"Now because of our commanders very powerful ability which we have access to in the command zone..." Here, I was referring to our access to Azami in the sense that she's always available to cast and use for drawing, not in the literal sense that we can access that ability in the command zone 🙂
For all my casual decks, i run no tutors, fast mana or one-card win-cons. So far that has seemed to be enough to keep the speed of the game in check, while also still being able to play as many powerful cards as possible. And yep I agree with you there, cheap and casual are not synonymous 🙂
@Casual Commander it is exactly what I'm looking for, ty, but will have to make some substitutions to get into some casual price controlled games online
