Be ware of the FAKES on eBay. You bought a fake shovel of course. Look for seller name freshtea, I bought from her and it is a genuine military product. Pretty tough.
+CiTY_HuNTeR I also bought mine from fresh_tea and it seems to be a genuine one. Can't complain about the quality at all. Do you know if the latest model, WJQ 308-II with a screw cap and steel mine detection stick at the end, are military issue or civillian?
This has never been into service in Chinese army, only been tested by special force. They still use the basic shovel now. About the 2nd gen, I've no idea.

thats disappointing as I really want one of these I have the American Etool anyway, no worries you must have had a duff one cos I havent seen one break like that before.
Portable shovels are a joke. Either use a real shovel, or use a stick. The stick will be a LOT faster in hard ground. Either way, a crappy portable tool that's less effective than a stick/bare hands combo is a waste of effort to carry.
