G'day guys & girls, welcome to my video, thanks for watching!
In this episode we'll do alot of the engine assembly and begin assembling the head, tune in for episode 4 when we'll finish the head as well as finish most of the engine assembly. then we pull the engine out of the bravo!

@@Finndawg Sweet - remember to use "break in engine oil" - its mineral oil with higher levels of ZDDP which is a heat activated substance which helps the break in process. Probably not super critical on an older engine like this but given the time and money you have spent on it probably worth doing. It will help to get the new rings to "seat" which is important and can take some time. Honing the bore like you have done gets you 90% of the way there.

06:30, where do you fit rpm sensor, I have a w9 engine which is basically an enlarged non turbo type of wlt. RPM doesnt work and mechanics keep telling me wired things about it's location

do you know how tight the valve cover bolts are when putting it back on?

I don't torque them, but don't put them back on too tight, they snap very easily, just hand tight.

hey mate, bit of a different question not related to this video. what's the difference between the ford courier and the mazda b2600? are they the same car just different badges?

Yeah mate exactly the same except for a few cosmetic bits and pieces, I have a video about rolling my courier and transferring all the gear over to the bravo if you're interested.

Thanks mate, I checked the gap just before installing the rings, seems they were pre-gapped by the manufacturer.

Hey mate, I have never seen the 16 valve I just believe there were 2 variants, as you can see in the video I only have the 12 valve.

16valve is a different 2.5l that came in the un bt50/pj ranger

hey mate , ive just started where somebody gave up , never re-assembled a HEAD BEFORE WITH VALVES ETC, is there any chance of some help which order everything goes in , so i have valves in , im stuck on where the stem seals go , any help much appreciated ]

On its side? I think I used the oil cooler holes, but I can't 100% remember, i just found some suitable holes on the side and smacked some bolts through

@@Finndawg I've a Mazda bravo Wlt and it's got a oil leak but I'm not sure what it needs I think rear main seal and exhaust manifold , would you just take it out and rebuild it or what do you think , I suspect it has a rear main seal as the rwc mechanic said and I cleaned the area and it looks like it could be

@Idopainting I'd do the manifold gasket see of that fixes it. Could maybe be the tappet cover too. If not just work your way down. I'd just do rear main and clutch at the same time I'd only rebuild the engine if it felt like it was getting tired.

@@Finndawg yeah well it's only got 240,000 KMS new gearbox and clutch is fairly new

@Idopainting I probably wouldn't rebuild it then, I'd start with the obvious anywhere you see oil follow it as high as possible and then replace any related gaskets. If all else fails go for that rear main but that's a pretty big job so I'd even let it play out if it's not terribly bad.

@@mokhtardz2906 Yeah, it's purely just documenting my rebuild for my own entertainment, if anyone gets anything out of it that's great. But I generally just make videos because I like to look back on my different projects. I have done more tutorial style videos recently though.
