That’s actually the case with all the bosses, but I wanted to offer a few techniques that others may not know of…Like when he’s on his horse the majority of ppl don’t know you can stack an element very fast and deal some great dmg. A little something to help kill him faster and more efficiently
I beat him with a water build, full light armor and lvl 15 morale…..i found running from him triggered his fatal attacks a lot more….so I went that route…..the one attack that kept getting me was his fatal attack that he drags his weapon and picks you up with it….once I learned that timing, it was over….it did take me around 12 tries lol
Took me who knows how many tries, but I beat Lu Bu, and I did it strictly by relying on deflects. :p I did not have anything from the water phase to rely on, and I was so focussed on deflecting and doing the occasional melee that I didn't even use any of the wizardry spells. :p About the only thing I got to help me was using yh3e heavens reliance for the 100 plus percent deflect difficulty. Was a big deal, since I used it to deflect his arrows to recover my stamina, and the homing ones in particular lets you deflect every arrow at once. Beyond that, I did it the 'hard way', with a divine beast in the middle. Funny enough, I initially had more consistency deflecting his grounded criticals as opposed to his mounted criticals. His charge and leap on foot takes longer to get to you, so I used that additional time to prepare myself for the deflects. Also found that, if I put some real good distance, I am more able to deflect either of his charge criticals as opposed to a failed reaction while he is practically point blank. Trying to get the Guan Yu armor. It's close, as I got him to level 9.
I went through 2 days of constant trying and let me tell you this straight off the bat, you need to find all the battleflags and have 20 morale/fortitude. What worked for me was to play it just you would with gyobu in sekiro. Deflect everything and use martial arts and make sure to wear armour to boost martial art damage. Then you want to learn his openings, usually when he’s falling around and at the end of each combo you should always spam 1 quick martial you feel comfortable with. (I did it with starfall it was great for dodging his leg sweeps) his health will go down and you should deathblow him simultaneously. It will all come together.
I easily dominate now after many ass kickings I've gotten from him. I use a ice dual blade build and that martial arts move where you side step out the way when he swings wrecks him. I just started playing this recently.
Finally beat him. This move was my kryptonite every time. I could not parry it consistently, but I dealt with it by dodging INTO it towards his left side, ending up behind him, and occasionally still getting the parry. Full lighting setup. It worked 95% of the time and made the fight much less stressful.
@@mojocuiii I finally beat him too yesterday morning. Ice setup works best because it counters his fire attacks; used Ice Weapon. And after parrying his horses charge attack I spammed Imposing Slab 4x to damage him and knock him off his horse.
Ice focused build was the way I beated him on first run of game. The build spells were, ominous chill, imposing slab, lightning weapon and absorb vitality. Also I found some items which heals a little bit on deflection, they help on sustain but the 99% of survival is deflect and don’t be too aggressive on the fight. He eventually dies with enough deflects and fatal strikes.
I think i just got lucky with my random build because after suffering with the first boss, I've got every other boss in the game in like 1 to 3 tries max lol.
still trying I'm now doing the over lvling way at lvl 62 still haven't gotten past phase 2 but my deflection is getting leauges better. I'd say I've died a like 60 times
What Helped Me finally beat him: Get your morale up as high as you can Re-spec your stats so that you’re focused on one or two elements rather than distributed all over the place Use a weapon that scales with whatever element(s) you picked Equip the spirit animal that heals you Have Heatproof ice and an ice spell, the spell that has spikes come out of the ground wouldn’t hurt either Other than that it comes down to skill
99 water. 30 fire. X2 fire skills. 1) increases your attack but increases damage taken 2) the skill that increases the damage of your next spell 3) most important spell : the ice spell that cost 40 points / ominous chill 4) what ever. I Use the one that makes your speed faster. Anyways. Use both the fire power spells. Drop in. Cast ominous chill. Wait 1 sec or so. Cast it as soon as you can. He will most of the time get stun locked and die after 4 casts. Sometimes hell run forward. Just pace back, cast ominous chill at the right time. He diies so easy 👌 hope this method helps 💪
Use entertainer chest and pants. They got max luck stat permanently on them. 36 luck So 36 x2 Can get luck on accessories Another 36 x2 Around 22 - 30 on head and arms Ice attack on everything Damagage dealt on everything Chill accumulation on everything
Use master smiths hammer and the last divine beast for A/A+ equipment drop rate Plus around 200 luck And a build set up to kill this boss in under a minute easy , literly. The loading times are the longest part haha
@@gamer_souls7238 good to hear bro. Honestly, this game isn't hard. It's easy enough to get good and enjoy. Just gotta relax the brain, find the right pace, control your character and control the choices. Be aggressive. But be aggressive deliberately. The critical/fatal strikes are the way to go. Trigger them. Bait them. Learn the timing. It feels good as to defeat bosses by no cheese. Just normal attacks and spirit breaking and fatal strikes. The timing is different on all enemies but pretty forgiving. Sometimes it's like wtf haha, I like it tho. A mix between sekiro and ghost of tsushima even if it ain't on there levels of quality. Lots of builds out there tho. Since new game plus. People have picked up on and focused on the elements. Weaknesses and ultizingnthe fact we can respec for free etc so there's a build we can set up for pretty much anything. Heaps of unbalanced issues in power. Leveling up. Armor and weapons and scales and stats etc etc... But ay, hope where all enjoying it 👌 where you up to in the game now?
Earth and water/ice helped me alot fire is useless rock spell gets him of his horse quicker hardest boss so far kind of a what have you learned test that I passed after 30+ deaths
All you really gotta do is trial and error. Figure out what moves he has, and figure out the timing to deflect those moves. You can do this with literally no armor on. There’s no special trick. Just skill and timing.
Yea I beat him no armor no health upgrades. Also disagree with this guy in the horse thing. I would just run towards him and then wail on him, never got hit when he’s on the horse after I knew the moves. I don’t we scared to fight him because I heard he was rough but he was pretty fist
