Have another nice little mechanicin' video for ya today. My water pump went bad and started leakin' everywhere so since i have to tear things down to replace it we might as well paint some stuff on the way back together!

Good job Ethan. Looks great! You got lucky on that bolt. It's a common problem on the early 90's F150s. I just did mine (also a '92 5.0) and the same bolt broke inside the timing chain cover. Had to cut the timing chain cover off just like you did on your pump. It was rusted in the block so bad, I couldn't get anything to grab hold of it. once timing chain cover was off, had to weld a nut on it to get it out. Long story short. New timing chain cover, water pump, timing chain set. Now working on rebuilding my AC system. Keep up the great work. Gotta love them trucks!

Thanks for your comment I really appreciate it. I'm getting into a new ac compressor here very soon mine is original from '92 I can't believe it still works at all!

@@Ethanthefenceman We're living in a parallel universe, or something. LOL I did my heater core a few days ago.... ordered a new AC compressor yesterday. Mine was the original as well, but had two pistons worn too much. I replaced the accumulator a couple days ago. Oh.. the vac reservoir (tin can) on the passenger side finder well.. bet yours will rust through if it hasn't already. Don't pay $45 for a new one (what a joke!). Cut the end out with the valve with a can opener. Go to grocery store and buy a 55 oz. can of Hormel Baked beans. It is the exact same sized can. Cut a 2" hole in one end and RTV/seal the old end into place on the new can. I added some JB Quick for grins. Toughest thing is eating all the beans. My wife wants me out of the house. lol Take care man, have fun!

Oh hell yeah thanks for the tip I'll definitely do that. Ill film when I get to doing my ac system. Can't wait for that in this Florida heat lol. I have a heater core video too from years ago lol also did a heater core in the ol lady's crown vic. That was fun. I have to edit that and I'll have a video of it too.

Oh Boy, I knew the water pumps in these 302's were no picnic. It has been awhile since I did my last one on a '88 351. NO way in Heck would I ever put RED LOCTITE on the Fan bolts though. That will likely require HEAT to undo those bolts. Good luck getting heat in there with that radiator fan shroud in the way. BLUE LOCTITE 243 is all you need if used at all. I guess I will be in it for the long haul on my job too. Water Pump, Power Steering pump hoses, Thermo, Heater Core, and anything else I find while in there. Might as well do it right, to get my truck from 200K to 300K since it is now my only work truck till I get others with more work to do on them done.

I own a 92 f150 5.0 and I got that soup can looking thing I broke some of the vacuum lines on it and was wondering what is was for

It's a vacuum reservoir I believe. So it's there for when the engine load changes and the vacuum changes, it prevents the vacuum powered stuff in the dash from opening and closing with the vacuum changes.
