Fun fact: On the US there’s a Sasquatch themed store (for truckers and road travelers) and one of their soda flavors is “Grass soda”. So… if we can’t touch grass, it’s because we drank it all.
"It is my job to give you an adventure. It is my job to give you something to believe in." Brother, this is a powerful, resonating statement. Your videos are great, and your words carry the weight of hope.
I think the title provides your answer. These people legitimately think so little of everyone outside their circle that they could say the sky is green and people would buy it.
Grew up in CA. Despite all the craziness of the state, nobody can deny it has some of the most beautiful nature you can find, hands down. You got some great shots too, thanks for taking us along brother ✌️
I miss my home state, the governance ruins the best state in the union. In my opinion there is no more of a beautiful land than California. It makes me sad that I'll never go home.
When the professor drops a video, I stay up and support. Love from Canada. ❤️ P.s. as a Canadian I do not stand behind the industries ruining the videogames industry.
I can feel the diversity already, i have been straight my whole 43 years alive but this person is almost making me GAY. Such a wonderful and fresh soul! It has to be amazing having you as a friend.
California is a very beautiful state. It’s hideously neglected by the people who run it. But seeing this made me happy, reminds me of why I still live here.
Like Samwise Gamgee said: " If I take one more step, it will be furthest away from home, I have ever been". There's so much to see and experience in this world. Dont focus on so called activists, who try to ruin everything they dont like. Go and meet kindhearted people, enjoy nature.
I barely have time for videogames. I found this dude a couple weeks ago. This is like a scientist explaining how a combustion engine works, but it's about the state of game development from the perspective of someone that you want to make games. I'm looking forward to a goty nomination for sungrand studios someday.
There is so much for me to learn, and still significantly more room for me to develop my existing skills. I find things in general very interesting, so I try to do and learn as much as I can. The world is very exciting!
Thanks for the warmth. You know, I think this kind of purity of the heart is what made me fall in love with video games back in the day. When you could feel that whoever made the game on the cartridge was simply trying to take you on an adventure. No ulterior motives, just a good game for you to immerse yourself in and enjoy. This video actually reminded me of Mario 64 with the "Thank you so much for playing my game!" at the end. :)
You only see the worst of California nowadays. It's good to be reminded of it's beauty every now and again. Thanks Jerrel, for being such a cool dude and showing people how real adults handle situations.
The media shows the loudest and worst people in CA, but they're all centralized in the big cities. The people I meet in rural and mountain areas are wonderful and make good friends and adventurers.
What amazes me about all of this is that no one seemed to report on the fact that 90% of the OG developers left before or shortly after the Cyberpunk debacle to form their own company called Rebel Wolves and are making a game Dawnwalker. these positions were filled with DEI hires straight out of college, without mentorships, yet now they are implementing a mentorship program and we wonder why cyberpunk was a debacle. Solid video as always, thanks.
I live in a suburb in SoCal and if I have friends from out of state or out of the country visiting, they always want to see Hollywood. I ask them if they really want to fight terrible traffic, hang out in overcrowded streets, or see a bunch of people from other states who moved here to "make it big". If I'm feeling extra adventurous I'll take a trip up to Little Tokyo but there's a bunch of Japanese stores in my area already so I rarely bother.
I’m 21 years old and you give me hope sir Also beautiful slide show.. seriously. I was about to travel but then borders shut down for lockdown, yatta yatta. Now I am longer friends with the people I wanted to travel with. It’s a weird feeling of “what if” (Canadian, B.C)
21 is the perfect age for adventuring. Canada is very beautiful and has plenty of opportunity for exploring. At your age, I spent all my paychecks on fuel for adventuring. And burgers.
You are quickly becoming one of my favorite RU-vid people. Gaming is fun, but it's not everything. There's so much to do out in life, it would be a shame to miss it. After all, you can save your game and come back to it later!👍
Well said! Gaming is awesome, but so is going on adventures in the real world. You don't have to pick just one. You can do both! Thank you for the support.
Thank you for sharing your adventure! I live on the opposite side of the planet and it is so cool to have a peek of the true spirit of the distant lands.
Remember when games were just meant to be fun forms of entertainment instead of social commentary? That was only a few years ago, what on earth happened.
@@sungrandstudios So many people are sick of this nonsense, shouldn’t be much longer until these types of companies go under and better ones show up :)
I wasn't expecting to get misty-eyed when I clicked on this video, but I did. I was born and raised in California, and left for good over a quarter-century ago. Before leaving, I'd spent half a year building and maintaining trails north of Yosemite. I'd nearly forgotten how much I loved the trees, the rivers, the granite -- the scenery that engulfs you, shattering any struggles and negativity you may have been shackled by. I'm in my 50s now and in near-constant pain after a few decades of laboring to facilitate hiker/tourist usage. Some day, for some amount of time, I will return.
It sounds like we are both Californian in our hearts. California is not a land of politics. It is a land of beauty and free spirited adventure. I hope you are able to find good pain management strategies so you can enjoy the outdoors a bit.
Lol dang when they ain't even important enough to put on a suit that is hilarious and caught me off guard. I choose adventure and holy moly quite a view out there😀
Life isnt a lecture. Life is an adventure. Let us adventure to our absolute fullest, and achieve everything we very much so desire. We will never grow old and worry about how much activism that we have partaken in. We will grow old reminisce on our adventures
In silver lining news, these people have saved me so much me so much money that I've spent it on fixing up my landscaping instead. I've got a nice outdoor garden with a bench now.
Thank you for staying and enjoying the videos. I don't have any travel logs, and on this adventure, I only brought a phone with a low quality phone with a bad video camera. Next time I'll bring a tripod and better camera do I can do more video for travelogs.
Thanks for joining along. The shirt is actually Merch for my Silver Falls series. A character wears it in the games. www.etsy.com/au/listing/1799526647/classic-beer-t-shirt-usa
Thank you for this video, I live in the city but I spent many years of my childhood in a small town surrounded by trees and vegetation, your video reminded me of those days, it was really an adventure, thank you for this experience.
I once had a professor back in college. I remember him telling us a story about a time when he himself was in college, where he participated in activism. . . But even before he finished college, he quit being an activist because he saw the sad truth about being one. That it's a bandwagon, a process where young, foolish people are tricked by organizers paid by people in high places to advocate causes that are irrelevant, stupid, and detrimental to not just society, but to people just trying to get by with loved ones that depend on them for a living. The ones easily swayed by these organizers are people that only think of fighting and resisting, refusing to look and see the good things that they have today thanks to the system they try their damnedest to topple. The woke people in the games industry are no different. The ones in my teacher's story were kinda archaic, activists in our country back in the 90's and early 2000's. . . The only difference is that the new ones have genuine mental problems. The new people in high places didn't know how financially destructive the decisions they make now are. But these activists, no matter what era or outcome, they write their own endings.
This professor isnt real and this story sounds fake af. Edit: Omg you said they were activists in the 90's & 2000's? Lmfao. The super peaceful time you mean where there was nothing to rebel against? I assumed this Professor wasnt still a child when they told you about their past activism. Wtf. I assumed you were talking about when American activists had a backbone (1960's, where they were brutally murdered for fighting their evil govt). Yea your story sounds real bc there werent very many activists in the 90's. Wtf lmfao. Of course he has this cringe take on real activism - he has no idea what it looked like bc he's still young today in 2024 lmfao.
Thanks my friend, I needed this today. I haven't been able to ruck for 5 days because my phone died(I can't do it without listening to something and distracting me from the tinnitus). I hope you're doing well. Take care!
What an incredible way to wind down my Yom Kippur weekend. Some people would have you believe the world is a bitter and ugly place. Clearly the beauty is there if you just look for it.
That's wonderful. Thank you for joining me and enjoying the video. You are right. The beauty is there. We just need to move the garbage out of way so we can reach it.
3:05 and 6:49 - Such good music. The places kinda brought tears to my eyes; very beautiful places that I won't ever be able to go to. Thanks for the virtual adventure, though. 👍
I am glad we could share this adventure. Thank you for joining me. If you would like, you can hear more of my music for free in the links in the description.
It always makes me laugh, whenever these types lecture and condemn the customer base. Look, even in a hypothetical situation, where they are 100% right, what does it change? You build products to meet your customers' requirements, you cannot force the customer to like whatever you produce. It is quite clear that these people don't understand the way the world works.
Dude, those places are awesome. I went California once and visited Yosemite NP and San Francisco. The park was beautiful and breathtaking. What you are showing is also breathtaking. For those who have never been I would recommend at least one trip in your lifetime to see the beauty of Yosemite or some areas he has listed. Also, if you can go to Costa Rica one time as well.
I'm so glad there's been more attention and pushback on woke activists in the gaming industry lately. Hoping this eventually bleeds over into hollywood writers or Netflix writers. Netflix is super blatant about fulfilling these identity checklists just to ruin nostalgic shows.
Such a giga Chad move being nonchalant in throwing punches to these activists. We know we are winning, but the victory is kinda hallow due to being an unnecessary battle to begin with
No commercial company would want to spend more pennies than they have to operate. Especially at a time where tech giants are doing huge layoffs to cut costs. Something/someone is incentivizing these game companies to hire these woke activists as consultants. What's the real incentive behind hiring activists to do a developers work? If we can figure that out, maybe we can have a real chance at putting a stop to it all. Boycotting is clearly hurting those companies but they are still insistent on bending the knee to the other side, not to gamers. Same thing with the movie industry. We're fighting puppets where we should be fighting the puppet masters.
Is there a quick time event for all game devs that they have to complete to avoid going on an unsolicited attack against their customers? Its genuinely strange how often a game dev attacks people, is amazed by the response and privates their twitter.
Forget all this annoying stuff about woke people. Because you inspired me with all this, I'm moving forward towards making yt videos about my favorite old games. You inspired this with your candid tones and talking points that show how much you care. I want to do that now, i want to show people what i enjoy and care about.
I am so grateful that Sungrand has decided to use the fame he got from Concord to make a positive influence in this space. The man we need but don't deserve.
Beautiful country! Hard to imagine that's the same state that San Francisco is a part of. I actually pity most of these woke activists creating modern videogames, because the majority of them have never gotten away from their cities and their online echo chambers and actually experienced the world. It's no wonder then, why the things that they create are so vapid, shallow and soulless.
I rather go on adventure with a real game developer than to be lectured. Also I rather play retro games instead 😊 Thank goodness we got you as a voice of reason. The activists are not worth the suit. Keep being awesome and I wish you a blessed new week. Also you'll reach 100K subscribers soon.
Oh, hey! I remember your username and avatar, awesome. That's been a bit more challenging for me lately. How's it going? We still have great older games and some new games that are absolutely worth playing.
@@sungrandstudios ohh hey all is well man 😊 I just enjoyed a good weekend hanging with my grandma and preparing for my comic book release in November. I appreciate you keeping people like me in the know of what's going on in the gaming industry. Hope you are doing well too? I really had fun on your Livestream from a few days ago
You, know. I haven't subscribed to anyone in years, because of how much channels i have subscrubed to that i don't watch for various reasons, also I hate when people asking to subscribe, makes me to do opposite, especially when they say things like "oh look how much people watch me but not subscribed", turn off video immideatly (I mean, how about blaming us, do something that will make us intersted in long term, if that's the goal?). But you sir, not only the person that says facts (the truth we've been saying for years, but being shut up by different people because we so called "bigots"), but you're also very inspiring, I even came back to learning programming again, dunno how far will I go this time tho, but here I am, doing my small part for the better future of gaming. Thus, You have new subscriber, and I wish you the best.
Your comment is an incredible compliment. I appreciate that. I trust in other people. We all know RU-vid already. What's the point in annoying the viewer by asking for things like liking and subscribing when they know already? Thank you for joining on the adventure. I wish you the best on your programming journey. I'll keep up regular videos to help in any way I can.
