Hey Matt, John Medaille's _Toward a Truly Free Market_ is the best book on Distributism from both a moral and economic perspective. I would recommend that both you and Seamus read this, as a great defense and argument for Distributism against other economic theories like the Austrian School and Keynesianism.

I've been watching freedom toons for a few years now. I never realized Seamus was Catholic. I was excited to see that he was going to be on Pints.

Because he is humble. When he depicts himself in the cartoons, he tends to be scruffy looking, makes fun of himself sometimes, and presents what he saying as simple common sense rather than showing that he is actually pretty darn smart.

@@thorin8871 those are very deep theological questions lol, I believe in fact their have been many popes and other church members who have “argued” those definitions or if they exist, and what I’ve heard is the best “proof” of purgatory is that we don’t gain our eternal bodies until revelations and also that that is when everyone shall be judged “officially”(I forgot the biblical term) so on that day theoretically purgatory goes away and either you’re damned to an eternity to hell or heaven and I believe he’ll is really only reserved for “irredeemable” souls, someone more involved with the church will most likely have a better answer though

Hard to tell which one's better between JP and Shapiro. I couldn't help noticing a rough correlation with his difficulty in doing an impression of someone and that person's apparent closeness to Christ, like ABp Sheen, Bp Barron and other Catholic figures. Not saying there's any actual causality, but it seemed like the holier the person the more difficult it can be to reduce him to a caricature

He dies have great production, but if anything I think he's over-rated (there's a few bangers, bou quench you by the beat and lyrics to modify 1000's if tines you'll get a few hits) Idk, just my opinion. Like *everybody* knows his name. But Chris Webby, Jarv, Watsky, Spose, RA the rugged man, uh ... blanking out on a few but yeah there are probably 100's of people who worked harder, are more skilled, and had nothing handed to them. Not that he's bad, just like, idk what's one .... like Little Dicky was for a minute, but not on the same level. No hate, I'm glad he got to blow up and make it big, timing and creativity in the idea of the pursuit was definitely genius. I just don't think he's all that good or all that funny. But not like nit good or not funny if that makes sense.

Every Wednesday and Sunday our Legion of Mary join as a group and pray the Rosary. Even during this “lockdown” we still Zoom and do our Rosary 📿. ❤️

I highly recommend some of the talks by Dr Alan Fimister around integralism and the New Testament story of the Two Swords, to give a good perspective on the Social Kingship of Christ. Our ancestors in Christendom had the understanding that all of organised society should be associated with the Church, that the institution of the Church was the entire collective of the baptised (not simply the Pope and episcopate), and that Christ gave Peter and his successors power over BOTH the temporal and spiritual swords, but due to man's fallen nature the temporal sword was not to be wielded by the Church except in the case of absolute necessity. The primacy of the spiritual power was therefore clear, whilst not disputing the rights of the laity to exercise the temporal power within the boundaries of God's Law. The confounding darkness of modern times is in part a result of the French revolution and it's pagan barbarian roots, seeking to elevate the temporal power to something equivalent or alternative to the spiritual power, and therefore leading to this weird idea of 'the state', as if temporal matters were somehow divorced from the spiritual. As one of the Popes (I forget who) said, the temporal order derives it's power from the spiritual in the same way as the moon derives light from the sun. If we began to think in these sorts of terms again, much of the confusion and foolishness of Western post-'Enlightenment' thinking would be exposed for tbe nonsense it is.
