@@Nick930 Ikr, I feel a bit old now... I can’t get my head around that Crysis 3 is over 6 years old. It still looks as good or better than some of today’s games. It‘s so sad that Crytek lost its position in the gaming industry. They were pioneers of graphical innovation.
You don't realize how costly all of that is, if you're saying this. This is a side game, not the 3rd. They're going to reuse models and textures if they're still up-to-date.
Who Cares Agreed! No Wolfenstein fans wanted 2 nauseating annoying lead girls forced in just because it suits today's trend (no problem with girls in games but today it's forced), no one wanted RPG mechanics and bullet sponge enemies u find in multiplayer games, numbers flying off the screen will be next! 😔.
just refunded this game on steam.. all enemies are just bullet sponges with health bars above their heads... this totally destroys the flow of the game
@@majorkong2828 yup. Personally every bad review I've seen just makes the game seem well structured, so really they are good reviews for people who think for themselves.
Playing this alone feels more like a full game escort mission, it literally forces you to take care of the ai player and the ai is not smart enough to not just die all the time. I would not recommend playing solo at all.
@@acebone2 Guns are fcking loud in any environment but wolf 2 guns sounded like they are fired from a distance. Changing audio to Hifi didn't do anything and I am using Senn Hd6xx and a Beyerdynamic DT1990 pro, 2 of the best reference monitors in their price ranges.
@@sheezy2526 I am talking about in-game surroundings. The guns sound very different according to where you are in the game (indoors, outdoors, in a small room, in a hall etc...). But I never experienced them sounding like they were fired from far away. Maybe check your settings?
The sound effects for the new colossus is much smoother while in youngblood they sound more powerfull, i still prefer the old smooth sound. One more thing that i like more in the new colossus is the HUD, i don't like the sight in youngblood
Because of how acoustics work in a street. In open environments, sounds has nothing to reflect back from, while on the streets, such sounds will be amplified or how we call it, become loud.
The thing that youngblood hud improved on was the objection marker was easier to see, if they could incorporate that into new colosus i would be happy.
@Mussell Bestbrook That's understandable, but with the enemies this time around, it kills the pacing. I don't like how the enemies have a higher or lower level compared to you.
These elements are just there to keep you away from running straight to the end. Other than that, you won't even notice these elements, and improving skills and upgrading weapons already was in the first 3 games to some extent. You don't even have to grind, cause you level really fast.
It’s interesting that Youngblood is priced at 40 in its first week of release. The GameStop employee told me that they were treating it like a DLC more so then a stand alone. Make sense considering the two aren’t vastly different.
Man, I just remember how excited I was for New Colossus after New Order aund Old Blood. Had already pre-paid and pre-downloaded, so once midnight came around on that Friday, I was playing. Had an exam in a 9 am class that next morning and could not care less...and here we are less than two years later with a new installment in the series and it doesn't even catch me eye. After ending the last game, I was really excited to see a near immediate sequel with the liberation of American, BJ at the forefront, and they swap that in for this BS? Franchise derailing move and this game fell flat on its face just like everyone expected. I just don't see how they can recuperate after such a letdown
Personally, Im a huge fan of all of the newer Wolfenstein games. I just recently finally upgraded to the next gen console and once I did, I picked up all the Wolfenstein games including "the old blood", " the new order", "the new Colossus", and now, " youngblood" Having basically played them all, for the first time, and in order, within the last month or so, I can't say much bad about any of them. The old blood seemed extremely short, but still grabbed my attention. The new order was just amazing and made me want more. The new Colossus, what can I say, I loved it! I'm a sucker for a game that has a great story, and these Wolfenstein games have an awesome story. The new Colossus was sick. So with youngblood that's what I felt it was missing. There's only like 4 story cutscenes throughout the entire game, and it felt so much different than the 3 previous games. I also HATED that I couldn't dual wield shotguns and assault rifles. Also, where is the sniper rifle??? It disappeared after the new order.....what the hell??? What's a first person shooter without getting sniper headshots.... Other than that, the "barriers" on the enemies is kinda irritating but I like the leveling up and upgrading weapons. The game is well worth $30 in my opinion
They want people to keep playing the game over time hence the "RPG Elements". Then they try to manipulate there once loyal fans in to buying all the slimy microtransactions.
I love Youngblood. It even adds to Super Spec's character by verifying his alien speculation with a kernel of truth. Ultimately, the story can be touched up but still good.
Resturn to the castle wolfestain from 2000s was THE best. The time frame and setting is fitting. You had wider types of guns, you had Undead, paranormal, puzzles, normal shooter ww2 missions like old Medal of Honor, then boom you get into high tech nzi labs with robots. I was scared of those small torso jumping robots... And bazzukas when they fly by.
I'm enjoying Youngblood, but I don't like that you can't finish a zone the first time you go to it and you need to keep going back as you find more quests in other areas
W2 was one of my favorite games I ever played, and one of the few I took to 100% completion. Great story, and hard to put down, highly recommend. Have no opinion on Youngblood yet, but I’ve heard it’s not as good
For it's many faults, I do like Youngblood's mission structure and levels a shitload more than New Colossus. And the sounds are a lot punchier. Shame it had to have leveled areas in it, if it was just the 'armor system' and the tougher enemies simply just had a lot more armor and more hi tech equipment I feel it would have lent more to this style of game, over simple numbers. That said, I've had a good amount of fun and played offline. Overall a better 'game' than New Colossus, but definitely a little lighter on the narrative, and New Colossus made more sense as a shooter. I will say, I DO NOT recommend playing it for more than about 2-3 hours at once. It's not a blast-through campaign shooter like the rest of the franchise.
Tbh youngblood is better than tnc in some aspects but the pseudo rpg elements and the grind to progress stuff really makes that game something mediocre.
Diego Mauricio Gomez One thing I don’t like is that the enemies will respawn after you leave a building or area. Makes all the progress feel meaningless and can be upsetting if you’re low on ammo
You said what I was thinking. Youngblood reminds me of Bioshock Infinite. I like these type of physics. Even though a bit darker and realistic is also nice. Both look good.
lol, Youngblood is actually pretty great if people bothered to pick it up and give it a chance instead of going "Eww the internet says this is different I hate it!" no, it doesn't feel too different at all. You can do the campaign solo or with a friend which I think was missing from these games for awhile, but that's just me.
Yeah YB is quite an upgrade in a lot of ways. Movement is great, weapon handling feels much better and the progression system doesn't tie your hands to play in an specific play style. Plus I cannot understand how some people feel that this game graphics are worse when it has one of the best implementations of ray tracing and DLSS in a game.
I feel that was an error to put to female characters with the same characteristics ,it would be much more better if it was a brother and a sister ,so one plays like the old BJ ,stronger and heavier and the other one more faster and light
I think having twin daughters was planned since the New Order if you remember B.J. dreaming about Anya and him having a relaxing behind a suburban house, while 2 little girls are running around.
@@hangdog355 I'm not saying it was made up,what I'm saying is that it would ended much more better just having one brother and one sister, independently if its or not accurate with the game lore ,its about a better gameplay , instead we recieved the same character twice
so glad I decided to pick up W2 over this. RPG elements are tedious in these kinds of games. I'm not even a fan of the way W2 handles it, with in-game challenges, but I'll take those 1000 times over RPG progression. I guess if you had a coop partner, this game would be the better choice, but for the forever alone gamer (like me) W2 is probably the better choice. Also, I love it to dual-wield shotguns in Wolfenstein, so Youngblood is a no no Also Also, I'm not a fan of the sound design changes, I liked all of the weapon sounds of W2 more. Idk why, but I find them more fitting, might be due to my 10 hours playtime in W2 lol.
Good video. Some obvious differences there between the two. I think Youngblood looks gorgeous. The New Colossus looked great too. I was so pumped to get back in and kill some Nazis but when I saw that it was co-op focused it took the wind out of my sails. I don't want to play my Wolfenstein games with a partner. I want the power fantasy of going in solo and wreaking havoc. I still want this game because it still looks fun to play, for the most part. But playing with an AI partner just kills it for me. I do like the gun sounds in Youngblood more. They have more snap to them. And the auto-shotgun sounds more devastating than the one in The New Colossus.
I love the game wolfenstein all its parts and thank you to the maker of this game I hope to continue and make other parts because I love this game very very very very .. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😭
Honestly it looks like they sacrificed some things for others, either is acceptable, young blood just has raw light which looks great but the sound design makes sense, cause the guns are being fires in Paris you feel, it’s gonna be higher pitched and more echoes. It’s cool that they would pay attention to that
You know, Bethesda could just tell iD to add open world capability, quest building tools, dynamic weather and day time, and player friendly character creation and customization systems and we could finally have bgs games look timeless and modern finally. A man can dream...right?
Honestly.. I don't mind the changes, let alone the small RPG element to it. The game is fun so far, but my biggest issue is clearing an area, wandering off, then returning to the same area and find the enemies have re-spawned.
The coop is the main reason why they added rpg elements to make it harder and more substancial. I appreciate the effort but it caused more harm than good to the series. Id prefer this to be a singleplayer only experience lile old blood. Also the graphics were changed to not affect performance hence why it looks slightly worse than 2.
I do believe as an experiment the gamble payed off. The only part I did not like was the weapon effectiveness to the enemies armour, as this makes the stealth gun play useless. I do hope Wolfenstein 3 goes back to the other games formula, Overall i enjoyed the experience.
Erm, Cyberpunk is an RPG. It's also not out yet. And finally, Wolfenstein was doing Wolfenstein long before CDPR ever got hairs on their dicks. Machine had done a great job in iD's footsteps up until Youngblood. Now they are clearly just whoring out the franchise to the casual console crowd for $$$$$$$$. Other than that, you are TOTALLY correct.
The machinenpistole is designed after the American Mac-10 or Israeli Uzi The Assault Rifle 1980 is designed after the G3 and STG-44 The Blitzgewehr is made to look like the MachinenPistole-40 from ww2. And the schockhammer or "kugelhammer" takes after many different combat shotguns from works of fiction.
The developer already lazy to make the upgrade hidden anymore. Back the before the youngblood, the old series need find the upgrade secretly hidden make harden to upgrade the guns if you didn't walk around the map
The sound effects are better in wolfenstien new colossus because it's less loud and makes you feel that the weapon is heavy.....but gun sounds in youngblood are unnecessarily louder
A nice comparison although it is really difficult to properly compare these two as they have completely different environments. Youngblood certainly looks quite a bit brighter and less moody and atmospheric than the New Colossus. I am still glad I passed on this title though, maybe in a few months when it is 15 bucks like Anthem.
Wolfenstein shouldn’t be anything like young blood is/was at all. However I do appreciate the amount of weapon customization and sounds of young blood.
I like the louder pop on the shotgun and assult rifle and the pistol has a more realistic sound of you have ever fired guns IRL most of the time unless you are using ear protection you don't really hear to much if the echo simply because your hearing is slightly defined, so whilst still hearing an echo you do t hear the carried echo as it spreads out actions the invorment you are shooting in, so the sound in that prospective does lend well, and idk why this game gets such a bad rap it's not the last installment and it's a nice filler until, the next installment is released and oh do I dare say it's allot of fun and after the updates it runs very smooth, so no complaints here really
@@lum26akua28 gameplay and story above all is what i meant. Everything else is useless is comparison to that. Am i supposed to say one game has a good story but the other is better because it has better shadow physics ? Dont make me laugh. So once again, the new order is the better game, its story is well paced and more engaging.
@@shalindelta7 That's not the purpose of this video or the comment, the comment was asking for visual comparisons. I do agree with you about TNO and Old Blood being better than TNC.
@SpongeChrist JesusPants I don’t know if it’s just me but the texture quality of the new colossus is its biggest advantage whereas the level design is lacking compared to the new order.
I personally love youngblood. I think wolf 2 is better for sure, but i like youngbloods loop, and as far as sound I definatly think youngbloods have more heft and crack to the shots.
Which wouldn't be bad if anyone actually knew how to write a woman and not make her seem like a generic male NPC with all that dudebro thing. Do these people not interact with girls or something?
@@unnamed715 there seems to be a lot of those penis envy feminists these days. On one hand we have games like uncharted and witcher which embrace both sides of a woman's personality - her sexuality and her strength and on the other hand we have this trash.
Bullet sponge enemies is a hard pass on a story based game. Gun sounds on W2 prior to WYB’s release always sounded muffled to me, at least the corrected that in this one.
Youngblood is FARRER SUPERIOR IN SOUND DESIGN. EVERYTHING ACTUALLY SOUNDS LIKE A POWERFUL GUN, WITH TONS OF DEEP BOOM, AS WELL AS SMSSOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE ACTUAL MACHINES AND NOT JUST BB GUNS.
I don’t know why everyone is hating on it I have really enjoyed Youngblood and it’s a good experience for me as a person who has played every Wolfenstein game (excluding the old ones) the RPG elements were weird but I still enjoy this game like if you agree maybe dislike if you disagree I don’t really care
Games are no longer games. They are complex systems that manipulate you. That is the entire idea. Gone are the days people making games because they wanna make game people for to enjoy. The gaming industry has gone corporate. And now how enjoyable games are is dictated by algorithms.
