Just a reminder, I'm not diagnosing anybody in this video; only speculating about what could be happening when everyone takes a lot of drugs like this.
Henry's amateur radio broadcasts are available in the archive audio files from Broadcastify. There were days when Henry would be on the air litterally 18 hrs a day talking to himself about nothing!!!
It sounds like Ashlie made out in the deal. The court orders her to spend 6 months in a drug treatment facility while Curtis spends at least 15 years in jail, and Henry is dead. Manipulating people's feelings isn't considered a crime, and the court sees her as somebody who can contribute to society if she beats her addiction.
I definitely think she's a huge POS! And junkies by Nature are very manipulative. Even if he gets out of prison, the trajectory of his life has changed drastically, he will always be a felon. But, how much can a person be manipulated into obsessive and paranoid Behavior so bad that you kill someone? I think he's an abusive mate. He might not necessarily hit heard but he's very controlling and that's abusive. I do hope she gets clean only so she can realize the damage she has done. The true Innocents are the children.
To be honest, Curtis is the one who killed that man. He could have just dumped her, but he prefered to kill her lover. Curtis wasn't even on drugs, at least she has the excuse that she was an addict, which is difficult to overcome.
I just discovered your channel this month and have no idea how I slept on it for so long- you sir, are such a gem. Everything about your analysis, your delivery, and of course, your low-key, nonchalantly 🔥 burns grabbed me right away and keep me coming back for more. Thank you for doing what you do- Warmly, Jamie from New Haven, Ct.
I’m in Australia. I’ve often been frustrated because it’s hard to get painkillers when I need them. Now that I’ve seen so many videos like this, I’m just glad that vulnerable people here are limited in what doctors will provide. It’s not worth the ruining of lives.
6 months in rehab!? Holy crap. She got off practically scott free! That's insane. I've been sober for 5 years on Sep 17th. I was addicted to opiates. Similar story. Car accident. Script from a less than responsible doctor who continued to fill them way longer than they should've. When they cut me off, I moved to Heroin. After being involved in that life for years and somehow managing to make it out alive (mostly) in-tact, one thing that I always thought to myself was, "Thank God I wasn't born female." Because I know for a fact that I would have used my body to get drugs or, more likely, gotten turned out by an opportunistic dealer. Young women who become addicts are so incredibly vulnerable to being trafficked, among other things. I don't know that I would have made it out if that were what I had to deal with regularly.
I had the same experience. Mid 2000's, legit injury, over prescribed, cut off abruptly, had become dependent, sought illegal opiates, full addiction set in, typical misery and chaos ensued. I'm a woman and feel extremely fortunate I never had to resort to selling my body. I had a lot of savings that I sadly blew right through and I also made money working for dealers. I'm not naive though, so I realize I can never claim that falling down to a high level of desperation wouldn't eventually result in me going to that extreme. I'd like to think that under no circumstances would I ever do that, but the reality is most women do end up resorting to selling themselves at some point. Like I said, I feel fortunate. But you are absolutely correct that most female addicts do wind up in prostitution. I've personally known 8 female addicts and 7 of them sold their bodies at some point. Very, very sad and scary and hopeless place to be in to justify doing that. Very sad and very telling of the hold addiction can have on a person.
Another tragic mess described succinctly, analyzed, and neatly presented as a real life lesson for anyone who is awake and paying attention. You may have saved someone from making the same mistakes in the future, Dr. Grande.
Ashlie got off way to easily. She should receive punishment for assisting her bf in getting rid of the body, plus stealing the drugs. She is a vile human.
Ya and she manipulated Curtis. Depending on how those lies went, how would most react to their partner saying ' a guy sex trafficks me and forces me to have sex for drugs'? Curtis did what a lot of people would do. He got played, and unfortunately didn't have the right state of mind to investigate before acting.
So very sad that a man studies so hard to get a degree and then ends up in jail because of a worthless woman. Feel for him and his family especially if he has parents. Why don't friends come into the picture to help. So much trouble could have been avoided.
Juries can sometimes provide unexpected results. Also, the plea bargain offered was a sweet deal. Men don't typically get sweetheart plea bargain deal, unless they're the son of powerful men
I don't know how he puts out such frequent content, seeing as how each post requires a ton of research before he can make a video. (So it's not like these 15-20 minute videos only take up the 15-20 minutes of footage plus however long he needs to edit.) Dr. G... do you ever sleep? 💤
Reminds me of that lady who had shared custody of their son and went and picked him up from school without telling dad and dad rightfully got angry and went to her house and yelled at her and went to get his son and then her husband came out and shot him. One guy went to prison, the other was killed, and the lady had no consequences even though she was the primary cause of the crime.
Interestingly, in that case the man who did the shooting was not indicted. A grand jury decided it was self defense. Horrible situation all the way around. Totally unnecessary. The little boy lost his dad, new wife lost her new husband, and step dad didn’t get in trouble for escalating the conflict. It was a hard case but I agree with the ruling of self defense. It was unnecessary but still lawful. What a total tragedy
I will never understand why some men would prefer to be with such a train wreck instead of being single. I'm single; I would love to get married, however, I would prefer being miserably single than in a relationship like this!
I’ve observed the “hero” complex in men frequently. They want to save a girl, so they’ll latch on to a useless, toxic woman, only to be disappointed in the long run. Then, when you’re an independent, hard working, outspoken woman, they’ll run like hell.
He clearly played himself. The military teaches you about accountability. He clearly did not pay attention. I guarantee you he was told by multiple people she was a hoe.
I am scared for my son (Marine) his new wife has similar issues he's not aware of all of them. Scary. When they're active and in reserves they have a $400,000 life insurance policy. Well my son does anyway she talked him into taking me off and one other person and making her the Only one on it this was a couple months Into marriage Only not Long after getting together. Omgoodness
it irritates the HECK out of me that judges and juries and prosecutors cannot see the OBVIOUS bs that people like this do to manipulate other people into doing so many things, and they should be held more accountable.
As someone who has become reliant on prescription medication to cope with numerous health conditions, it frightens me so much that people can reach the height of desperation that they do to just to survive this vicious cycle.
I was just thinking today about when I was in college I used to get angry seeing drug addicts on the streets and I kind of realized it was because they reminded me how close I was to that lifestyle. If one thing goes wrong here or I befriend the wrong person there that could be me on the streets and it freaked me out.
@@ceilconstante640 no ...u can fall into this trap.I have severe chronic pain Most of the days i cannot even take a shower Believe me,i ve done many stupid things cause i just wanted the pain to stop "U don't get it,till u get it".... #invisible_illnes #you_dont_look_sick
@@elle9543She went to court for violating probation. Her probation officer was present and asked the judge to put her in prison. The judge gave her another chance after Ashlie Stapp Paddock told the judge she was going to become a drug counselor…. She only finished a few more months, and was released- only to leave the State..:
@@burtreynolds3143She was and IS a murderer…. Had her murder and kidnapping charges… Henry loved her. She was using Henry for his meager 30 pill a month supply of OxyContin. Promising him a relationship….
You didn’t mention that Henry Stange was buried alive. I’ll say it again, When Ashlie and Curtis took him to the desert and buried him - Henry was still alive. Cruel and crazy - I cannot believe she’s free.
Agreed.. The justice system failed. Ashlie helped with kidnapping Henry and helped bury Henry alive to die… Curtis got 2nd degree murder??? After a previous attack, 3 months earlier??? Sickening. Henry was no criminal. After 18 years of marriage, he was lonely. When he met this conniving, manipulative woman, he fell hard and fast.
How does someone survive a hammer strike to the head thats so strong in bends the hammer? Youd think that thing would have gone all the way into his skull.
The human body can be unbelievably resilient sometimes. There was a rail worker years ago who got a giant railroad spike going through his skull and brain, and he lived.
Some people just cannot keep their heads on straight. Like come on lady, you didn’t even get sentenced to prison and you still had to cause trouble 🤦🏻♀️
From the outside looking in, the justice system doesn't seem to dole out the same punishment person-by-person. Some get 25 years for accessory to murder and others get 180 day drug rehab.
A lesson (Curtis) or (Kurtis) could've used prior to this experience: Once she disappears, it's time to leave her alone. No one can force someone to be with them happily. Charge it to the game and move on with life. Now he's locked up for over a decade while she's onto the next one...or two...or three.
Another frustrating story (Ashlie did get quite a deal, but I remember what Plato said about the unjust person's very nature being a punishment on its own). Thanks, as always, Dr. Grande.
Hello Dr. Grande😃🥰 Thank you for the video! Although all true crime cases are mind-boggling, It's situations & scenarios like the one you're speaking of today that both confuse me & inrage me at the same time. Makes zero sense as to how they thought this would even work out. I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend!
I worked at St. Bernadine’s off Waterman in ‘dino. They had the hospital fully locked down (had to have a keycard or get buzzed in) bc of how common it was for addicts to try and barge in to violently strong arm the pharmacy for their fix. ‘dino folks DGAF
Henry's antics are played out on the RU-vid channel Delta November. It was quite entertaining back in the day but unfortunately for Henry, this all came to a very bad end!
I am back in school part time while preparing for full time school this year. Now for sure my second former husband can accuse me of being addicted to learning. Any time student life seems too boring watching another Dr. Grande video episode that might encourage me in learning to like the boring student life style better all the time.
Thanks for another interesting video. Curtis should of walked away because as far as I could see, Henry and Ashleigh had more in common than Curtis and Ashleigh. But as you said, Curtis had his own addition in Ashleigh. Three weird people.
My ex is just like this woman. She would play so many people against one another and she would play victim and she would get everybody thinking that she was being abused and get people to fight each other it's so sick it's horrible is a horrible horrible jerk
I find it amazing that in almost every case like this, the woman gets a very generous sentence. What Curtis didn’t realize is there will always be another Henry I just don’t get it once a woman does that to you you gotta walk away !!! if he would’ve gotten away with it, it wouldn’t be long before there was another guy who would’ve supplied her with oxycodone !! Yep they always get a free pass. It’s amazing she knew what she was doing. She’s just as guilty as him and they both should be in prison for life.
As a chronic pain case, crumbling spine, I don’t agree. Opioids let me move and become a human again. It’s the abusers of opioids that make the headlines. I don’t snort, smoke, peel or generally alter the pill in any way. I took it as prescribed and it did help me regain enough movement to get some life. I did “get off” it as I’m not wanting to become dependant, but without it as a pain reliever, I’d probably be dead anyway. I ask my consultants, what’s the best pain reliever to date, that’s non opiate. They say “nothing”.
@@louise2467 Oh sure. I agree. Some people do need them. When I was getting off them years ago a counselor I was seeing said something to the effect of “I’m too young to be dependent on opioids.” I asked “36 is too young to be hurting and in pain?” He replied “No that’s not it. You’re too young to be dependent upon and ‘On’ them constantly. As tolerance goes up we need more or stronger meds. At 36 by the time I was older I’d need so much to just be normal that it didn’t make sense.”
He is really going to be jealous while he's locked up and she's out screwing other drug suppliers. Eventually her promiscuity and/or drug use will bring her the self destruction she's seeking.
Curtis : YOU'VE GOT TO FACE IT: YOU'RE ADDICTED TO LOVE! Poor guy, in fact poor guys, neither of them deserved this.. and Ashlie was totaled by her addictions as well.
Not necessarily. Two people right here in this analysis addicted to people and way worse off for it. If you like things and can pay for them, you're not hurting anyone.
If I had never been to the USA and saw enough of these shows about the people here...I think I would avoid ever stepping foot in the country. Even though I do know a lot of people here who are decent... I am going to become a lot more suspicious of strangers. It just isn't the same country I grew up in.
2 toxic idiots. Curtis got access to her location for her safety if she passed out & went missing again, yet used it to check up on her constantly like a psychopath. This dude was a ticking timebomb. He would've done something horrible at some point no matter what, imo.
It's really unfortunate that most of society views "being in a relationship" as the "end-all be-all" in life. I observe individuals calling themselves losers for not being in a relationship or how they're always searching for "The One". Even social media likes to romantize relationships and push them onto us. I'd argue, relationships should be viewed more along the line of sacrificing a part of yourself. At the drop of a hat, I'll see most people go into a relationship, not knowing how much of themselves they are willing to sacrifice. And in most cases, they end up giving up more than they knew possible. Such was the case for Henry, he unknowingly sacrificed 100% of himself. His entire being was at the disposal of Ashlee. It's as if in his mind, he had already married her; "and till death do us part". And if the idea of being alone is so disturbing to you, atleast know how much you're willing to give up beforehand.
Nicely said. Everytime I get into a relationship I completely lose myself and my personality just to make the person happy. It drains the life out of me. And it’s hard because I do love them but I don’t know what to do once it reaches this point
@@Koozomec I agree with the low self esteem but the codependency not so much. It’s actually the opposite. Like I start off just fine completely being myself and happy with them but the longer we’re together the more I have to suppress who I really am and the more I just wanna be alone and not in the relationship anymore. It’s happened with everyone I’ve dated and it seems like it’ll be that way with everyone
I can’t say that it’s for no reason though. Everyone I’ve been with has had their own issues that kinda push me into acting that way I guess. And I feel that because I’m with them I have to just deal with it and love them for who they are
A true drama queen. I would rather be done wrong by a car salesman than a woman like her. She lies better than any politician. There are many, many more females with similar behavior , so I am taking note. Thank you Dr. Grande for bringing this behavior to light.
Becoming dependent on drugs after an injury is too often the beginning of a steep downhill in life. Addiction almost always leads to criminal behavior - stealing, promiscuity, lying. The life of the addict becomes rapidly degraded. And yet no responsibility is ever brought back to the drug itself? Those who prescribe drugs should have more of a part in making sure addiction doesn't happen!
I'm a former pill taker. I was in the hospital for surgery and upon my discharge, the doctor told me he would prescribe Oxy for pain. I told him - under no uncertain terms - that I would snort and abuse the drug and to NOT give it to me. When the nurse handed me a script for 90 days of Oxy I got furious and ripped the prescription up in front of the nurses station. I don't even take Ibuprofin to this day.
Drs handed the medication like candy- and he was never told it was addictive back then. Drs gave more when it stopped working for his chronic bone infections. When he stopped taking the meds he was sick… He called Dr and Dr told him he couldn’t just stop. He had to be weaned off it. He had been on the meds for years. 😢 He finally was on one pill a day when he met Ashlie. She was the catalyst to both men’s demise. Curtis is a sick POS- He beat and stomped on Henry for 4 hours, left for a couple of hours. They were hoping Henry would be dead when they came back. But Henry was still living, and had crawled to get help. Who can possibly listen for hours as a man screamed for his pain? A psychopath, that who. And both of them are. They buried Henry alive.
@@TechGorilla1987 Good thinking. You probably saved yourself a world of trouble. 🙏 Henry was prescribed this deadly medication years before the public knew of the danger. Drs wanted to amputate his leg, but he refused- so a specialist did an experimental surgery to save his leg. Drs put a rod in his leg, but he had horrible bone infections and pain. Often he would have at-home IV’s for weeks at a time.
[4:41] Wow. How hard would one have to hit somebody to bend a hammer like that? I wouldn't even think that was possible. My hammer has smashed many rigid things throughout its life and it's still as straight as the day I got it. They're made to be... tougher than nails, after all. I can't even imagine the force required to bend a steel hammer over someone's head. As morbid as it sounds, I feel like a skull would give way far sooner than a hammer would. I'm perplexed by that photo.
