Why are people asking about why they specify that its women. The video is literally about WOMEN fighting for their rights. Who else would be climbing it for them, not men because its not about men. How is it sexist to stand in solidarity with WOMEN who are being treated unfairly?! Ill wait.....

When I commented I saw a decent amount of negative comments questioning why they had to specify that it was women who climbed the mountain. Also, the like to dislike ratio isn't as good as normal BuzzFeed videos.

if you measure from base to peak, i believe kilamanjaro is actually a teensy bit taller.. it just depends on how its measured (i.e., from sea level, etc).

+Andreas Olsson It's the inspiring music and the utter sense of marvel and accomplishment of seeing people climb such a seemingly insurmountable mountain. Psychologically, when you watch a video of something, it somewhat affects your body as of your were doing what is happening in the video. You could say that you were with the climbers and felt the same sense of joy.

Did you not watch the video? This is a part of the women's rights movement in Africa. It was to inspire women to fight because so many laws forbid female land ownership. They specify women because it's about women's rights.

moby93 'the climb to the top was a symbol of their determination to defend their rights' it's about women defending their rights, that's why it's specified. (There are also males that fight for both men and women's rights in Africa, but this specific 'climb' was for women fighting for women's rights)

On the surface, this seams great & noble, and the women are genuinely awe inspiring, but you gotta remember this wasn't something they planned, that they thought would really help them, that buzzfeed just happened to tag along too, buzzfeed initiated & organized this just so they could get the viral video out of it. So remember to celebrate the women & don't let buzzfeed exploi them for liberal points
