One thing that I loved about what Renae said - and I loved a lot of her comments here - is that Serena's life goal was to be better than Venus. In the process, she became better than everybody else. Isn't that remarkable?! If only Venus wasn't so close to Serena in age. She'd have 15+ Slams herself. There won't be another story like this in any sport in any lifetime. I'm privileged to have watched them play for 20 years.
I believe that no one knows just how remarkable it is for Venus to be playing at this high level dealing with Sjogren's Syndrome. That was a mitigating factor for her not having more majors.
I'm in teary eyes when I come back to see Venus speech, thinking about their achievement throughout their career what they've done for the women tennis. I know it's almost impossible but I would love to see their last match on court together at US open final, that will be a wonderful fairytale journey for Serena.
Lets take a moment to appreciate how hard the female commentator kept turning the conversation back to how precious the sisters' relationship is and how incredible of a win it was for Serena whenever the male commentator switched the topic to something irrelevant (e.g. Serena's wedding planning, etc)
Here after the retirement news. I feel like it’s so fitting that Serena’s (potentially) last major win was against Venus. The impact they’ve had on the sport and the love they have for each other will be felt for generations.

@Ilya Kuryakin playing during pregnancy is still a tough task irrespective of the month . Especially first two months has to be very safe as it involves implantation and development of embryo in uterus... Winning a grandslam is almost impossible during that period... It leads to lot of physical stress. We men can't understand that pain of carrying a baby . As a doctor, I know how difficult it is to win a grandslam during pregnancy.

I would like to see this Venus and Serena again when tennis resumes. Venus played REALLY well to get to the final and actually played a pretty decent match here as well.

Don't have cable so I don't get to see it live at all. Plus, then I get to watch the matches only through highlights on videos. And even those are getting shorter. It’s so fascinating because I think what made Serena better than Venus was her will to win. When they play each other it’s almost as if nothing in the world means more to Serena than winning. Venus, I think, knows that and whether on purpose or subconsciously, tended to not play as aggressive against her sister. When they were younger i always thought Venus was better than Serena but never unleashed her full power on Serena. What elevated Serena was always wanting to be better than Venus, because if you can bee better than Venus, one of the all time greats, then you could beat almost anyone

When Steffi Graf had 22 slams nobody was mentioning Margaret Court's old ass, but as soon as Serena has 23 slams, all of a sudden Margaret Court's 24 slams from the olden days when they played tennis in long dresses keeps being brought up constantly.
Both sisters achieved a lot! great memories of the sisters' matches! unforgettable emotions! full professed! .. we have 2021. getting harder to win "slam" ..but I believe that Serena "has not laid down her arms yet" .. has the French Open 2021 going on! Wimbledon 2021! .. and I don't know about US Open yet! and IO 2021! so I believe that one of the tournaments may still play a great Final among themselves! I wish them this! M Poland

🤨🤔 In complete contrast, I thought their description of Venus’s serve style was both very accurate _and yet_ understandably humorous enough to be considered a small jest. I mean, if I stayed in sports that people respect highly I’d likely have stuck with tennis instead of quitting my freshman year, and my own serve was certainly a hot mess. But had I not been a wimp, I’d *ADORE* to have my serve be described with the consistency of a baseball pitcher instead of being stuck on the court looking like a dying walrus on four hits of pot and my doubles partner ready to sue me! 🤣😅😰
Watching this and knowing that she was pregnant is an entirely different experience. Alexis Ohanian (her fiancé at the time), Jill Smoller(her agent) and Venus were the only couple of people who knew she was pregnant during the match. The look of stress, nerves, and excitement from Alexis and Jill when they pan to her team box is amazing when you know that they have this huge information that no one else does.
Although almost 5 years ago, I still would not count Serena or Venus out to win another slam and maybe even meet each other in another all sister slam final 2022. 💪🏿
Love to see Serena winning and doing what nobody was supposed to do before. Surpassing Graf getting here her 22nd and her 23rd in Australia this year. Now... having a baby is going to take a BIG toll. Not that others haven't done it. But they did it at a younger age. Hopefully she'll get in shape for next year. She has the resources but I pretty much doubt we'll get 4to see this Serena again. I hope to be wrong cause I want to see her winning the 24th and 25th trophy. Hope so very much!

Venus has always been a real good sport when it comes to handling great losses she's really and truly a champion in her own right because she was born to be a great champions. Serena has always been Venus greatest threat EVER and when she loses against sis Serena she handles it like a pro! Venus graciously accepts her loses with a smile on her FACE never once complaining no siblings rivalry there ❤️ wow I honestly love THESE two WOMEN champions!

Steffi Graf is the GOAT. She leads Serena in just about every single stat apart by a large margin while Serena only has one more Slam than Steffi. It's not enough.

Steffi has more 34 titles, 58 more weeks at #1, a better record against top 10 rivals and was overall much more dominant and consistent than Serena. She also has the Golden Slam in 1988 while Serena doesnt even have a regular Calendar Slam, she lost to Roberta Vinci of all people. Steffi is also technically superior to Serena, she moves better, she is faster, mentally tougher, more disciplined and is like a ballerina on court. She is just a better player than Serena. Serena's game is ugly and not very classy.
