I think it would probably cost more than €300,000 to straighten the Leaning Tower of Eiffel. Seriously - well done - you completely deserve this award and I can't wait to see what you do next
I've been following you and this project for a while now and I admire the way you have been pulling through =). Hard work pays off! But... just like you said, the money is just a means to an end! Good luck and be strong.
I absolutely love what you are doing! I cannot wait to see version 4. Congratulations on winning the money to further develop this wonderful idea, also the awesome chocolate bar. That's great.
Congratulations! I follow your projects since a while and I'm really happy to hear these amazing news for you and your team, you deserve it. It's such good news for the entire world that needs to be cleaned up!
Greetings from Precious Plastic Greece! We are up to it! Already built 2 workshops and go for a container v3 this September with your friend and comrada Marta Rios!! Keep up the great work and we got your back.. all 7000 points on the map! #Less Plastic More Precious Plastic!!
wow people like you still exist. selfless and inspirational. im going to start your project in my little housing scheme in Sri lanka. becuase You inspired me to do this. thanks dave,.
Congrats ! I am truly amazed and it gives me a lot of motivation to fully invest myself in our local precious plastic project, and why not have some skills to help you after summer !
Congratulations on the award and all the work you are constantly putting in the project. We are starting an NGO in northern France based on Precious Plastics principles !! Woohoo !
Glad to see you staying true to your principles, Dave, and reinvesting this into the project. Very commendable. Would love to help on-site with development, thought it would be difficult with my family situation. Hoping to contribute to the community as a whole and maybe consult with you. Keep up the good work!
If you go to Portugal, make sure you go see the national park Peneda Geres, as well as visiting Arcos de Valdevez and Ponte da Barca to see some amazing nature.
Nice! Congratulation! I started talking about you in a local "oldschool hackerspace" here in france, and we are trying to salvage parts to make a tiny production setup. Your videos are great, your plans are clever, and your project is sooo awesomely documented. Great projects!
that baguette dueling says a lot on france conduction of wars. congratz for the prize, as i was a member in pirate party, don't let everything running wild within the community, some guidance is always good.
Well done you guys! You totally deserve it and we are looking forward to V4. I must add...the sward fighting baguette girls were pretty distracting but funny! Via la France
Congratulations! Use the money for the PROJECT KAMP! I know this is not directly connected to Precious Plastic but I think it is a very sensible project that will require some money. See all projects as one big one, and well, Precious Plastic will also be a direct part of Project Kamp right?
I'm sure he'll use it for good, whatever it is. I'm also looking for an area to implement a kind of project Kamp here in Brazil. I really should contact him to explain my Espaço Super Inteligente... Let's do it soon...
Dave you have to come to Raglan in December to do some surfing. The community here is very conscious about recycling and the local recycling centre needs a shredder ;)
This baguette xD xD Awesome desition mate. You have done the right choise to grow up! I'm looking for fabricate various plastic parts and think could be good to invest on a CNC machine for we can send mold designs for being made on a CNC or maybe 3D scanner for comunity for send parts to be scanned and take a metalic mold in CNC also study more methods to made more parts than usually we actually seen on the chanel like cups or bolds etc take this to the next level I will stay tune for V4.0 preciousplastic!
CONGRATULATIONS! I'm A super fan, developing a Precious Plastic sistem in Corsica. Dave is going to Portugal? (Or at least prospecting..) I'm so excited! I would advise searching in the center, not too far away from Lisbon. Ourém/Fatima would be a great choice too! Lots of empty spaces that used to be booming business and the land is generous for cultivation. It's my region. And people are abandoning it for... Lack of hope. In Caxarias there's a train station, so, connections with the all country (or Europe) are easy. And did you know that the longest train trip in the world begins in Portugal? I'm proud of my country. I hope you guys fall in love too
Lol congrats, you earned it! (the chocolate haha) I think hiring some experts might make sense for specific projects. If you can pay them minimum money, enough that they don't loose money, they might be inclined to help for a year or so for specific hard engineering or chemical problems.
First ... CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D Second. Back here in reality, 300000€ is not a lot of money these days. Of course it's a lot of chocolate but if you want to make a real difference when it comes to recycling plastic all over the world it's not that much. You're a level headed guy and I probably don't need to tell you this. At the same time you got to this point without all that money so maybe you're onto something. It's easy to really really want to do something when you can afford it so think twice and list up as many possibilities as possible before deciding. Maybe it's a good idea to not use a lot in just a few projects? Well, I'm sure you know there is a lot to think about haha. It will be an interesting trip !!! Third ... CONGRATULATIONS!!! :D
i think you could make a scaled down version of your recycle plant, now you need a quite expensive setup with lasered parts and high power geared motors, but if you would be recycling for the use of your 3d-printer zou could probably do so with a smaller setup. Then you would be able to use household items for motors and such. This will probably not work for the whole world since you need items that people only throw away in developed country's but it could get recycling in a lot of peoples homes
It would be great if you can make a shredder like a oversized blender to schred your plastic cheap that you kan buy the parts and build it you self at home im still missing a good way to shredd my plastic in smal bits .
For V4 maybe look into making a machine that makes 3d printed items back into filament or the raw material to print out again. I would love to see a way to make batting or cloth out of the plastic water bottles, apparently China is doing this on a massive scale.
