Wood Finishing and Drying Racks - Woodworking Jig

I often pre-finish my woodworking projects. This means that getting a finish on all sides, and finding a way to allow it to dry is more challenging, these drying racks solve that problem perfectly. These drying racks work great for all types of finish including varnish, linseed oil, polyurethane and many other types of stain.

Where were these 10 years ago when I built several book cases for my library? They would have made finishing the paint job so much easier. Great tip and jig.

Wow. This is a game changer. My whole floor is currently covered in pieces taking twice as long to finish.

GREAT project Colin. One of those projects where you spend a few minutes now and reap the rewards later when you need them.

I like it. it would be kind of hard to do the ends if you're going to spray check out Chris the Idaho painter he has a good idea he puts two cup hooks in the top of kitchen doors for instance and then hangs hangs it on a wood hanger I did that with 50 doors myself and it made it really easy
@knecht105

Making a hanging system would work great too. Thanks for the tip.

That is really a smart system and a good jig. Thanks for sharing. You mentionned that ends hardly ever will be painted/treated. Why is that? (for shelves in bookcases or cupboards I can imagine that but for other things not)
@knecht105
@knecht105 6 лет назад
Yes, I preliminary use these on projects like cabinets and bookcases. Thanks for watching!

Two questions: 1) Where do you store all of your jigs when not using them (I'm building many, and now I need ot organize them). 2) Do you worry about splitting the ends of the wood screwing into the ends? Unfounded concern?
