With a little extra fiddle (which one may or may not consider worth it), the clapper could easily be made to work. Okay, it won't go 'ding-dong'... more of a 'clunk-clunk' but it would add to the integrity of the item. If you extend the tenon on the handle slightly and drill a hole through the end so you could thread a string through. Then tie on a short dowel the same diameter or less than the tenon.Then thread the clapper through the bell as you fix the handle. You could then, if so desired, turn and drill a small ball to glue to the end of the clapper. You'll then have a nice clacky irritating... yeah, okay. Forget I said anything.

Hi Mike i turned a few Logs into Mushrooms from my woodstore approx 8 months old i cut off the end that had started splitting took the shrooms into the house and two of them have split any idea why ? thanks

Mike, unlike most of your videos, this.one seems to not be planned out very well, adding and removing tools, changing design, no detail on bead making etc.
