Substitute Ryan Swallow's effort on the hour was the difference between the two sides as the Jockeys maintained their 100% league record as a first half penalty miss proved crucial for the Woodpeckers.
Jack Whiting's Curling shot went over the bar after 3 minutes and Jordan Lake's effort from 20 yards was well held by home keeper Alfie Stronge after 10 minutes. George Bowman's accurate corner was headed over by Liam Scopes after 14 minutes and for the visitors James Chivers' shot missed the target. A minute later Callum Sinclair's shot was blocked by the away defence but after 27 minutes Luke Mallett was fouled inside the penalty area by Away Captain Joe Robinson, Mark Ray stepped up but missed the target with the spot kick after 27 minutes as his shot went wide of the post. Whiting's effort after 34 minutes again went just over the bar and from Bowman's through ball, Sinclair's shot well defended by away right back Chivers. Lewis Whitehead's shot was headed off the line by Barber after 41 minutes but all square at the break.
Sean Rea's cross after 48 minutes was headed wide by Andy Crowe and a minute later Crowe's effort tested away keeper Neil O'Sullivan. Mallett's audacious lob just missed the target after 55 minutes and James Seymour's goal saving tackle denied Crowe after 56 minutes. Swallow's first time shot opened the scoring after 61 minutes with a neat finish and Stronge's excellent save after 63 minutes denied Swallow a second goal. Stronge again saved well from James Hall and after 66 minutes Lake's shot was parried for a corner by Stronge, Hall headed over the bar after 87 minutes and home Substitute Callum Vincent's shot from 20 yards tested O'Sullivan after 89 minutes and the same players effort in the last minute went wide of the post.
