I also picked one up at Costco for $130. I got vanilla pineapple and oak on the palate. I didn’t get a lot of sweetness, but my sample was a fresh crack. I look forward to try it as it opens up. Thanks for the review. Much appreciate it.

I wanted to compliment you here, Bill, on your choice of keywords in the title of this video. I was looking for reviews of this bottle and searched for "Woodford 121.2." In my mind I differentiate the batches by their proof - and I'm probably not the only one. Your review came out on the very top in my search. All the other reviews only had the keywords "Woodford 2024 Batch" but not the "121.2." 😀

Loved most of the older 750ml WR Batch Proofs that were amazing for about $125-$135. 700ml bottle at a way higher price is awful. I am OUT. Thank you Mr. Bill for another terrific video!!
I try to avoid comparing new releases to previous ones on first Crack, but your review has me intrigued. I enjoyed the 124.7 and did not like the 118 from 2022. Great value comparisons.
This is tough. I unfortunately think I have to skip this year. We actually still have WBP 2023’s sitting on shelves all over out here. At $160 I could also go snag a Hardin’s Creek Boston at Total Wine by me for $180. I’m also leaning towards only buying ryes for the rest of the year, I have so much bourbon lol. I have 36 bottles and only 6-7 of them are ryes.
Yeah that’s a great point Hardins creek wins for sure and if you can get it for only 20 more makes this a bad value which it is . My rye collection is now approaching half of what I have I somehow turned into a rye guy
@@bourbonbill rye is just better, honestly. Better and more complex flavors, better at younger ages, better at older ages, better craft ryes available than craft bourbons, etc etc. I could go on and on.
Wow that cheap at TW? Is it a fairly new TW? TW here in MA has got stupidly expensive. They tried getting $200 for MWND for a couple months before dropping to $150. They are no different than walmart. Low priced when they come to town to eliminate competition and make people think they will always be cheap then slowly raise them.
Im walking past the woodford batch proof and im going to get me an of sbbp pick and a jd sbbp. Still think I got $20 left over for some chipotle for dinner.
So Today I just picked up the 121.2 for $159. But I also got Jack 10 batch 3 for $80 and Jack 12 batch 2 for $90. So in the end I feel like I did pretty darn well. Now I'm out of doll hairs. Oh well.
In NJ I can get JD Barrel Proof for $55.99. So I can get 3 of those for the same price as 1 WR Batch Proof 700ml!! Duh. WR has become a money grab on their special releases, similar to Wild Turkey unfortunately…😢
Wow that’s a great price on JD. Yeah I don’t bother with any of them except batch proof because at least that’s barrel proof. They haven’t gotten as bad as wild turkey with their 300 and 500 price points yet
@@bourbonbill their shelfers for sure in Florida… but I’ve only seen below 130 proof.. that rye is hard to come by nowa days and I’ve seen it at secondary prices… nabbed mine at 55 💪
They took 100 barrels from the top floor of the warehouse and mixed them together to get a proof they got. I really think Mrs. Elizabeth is a great master distiller and is going to produce some really good bourbons especially the master collection and distillery series i think. Yes its gotten more expensive but the quality is going to be there. I have faith she is going to do great things.
@@bourbonbill I will agree with you there. If you ever do a tour or look at the website they have to woodford reserve bourbon recipe . This is the same without a age statement. The website has more details on the mater collection from this yr. She recently had a child so wasn't able to be as hands on as usual. I think the next couple of yrs will show she's a talented distiller. I know the prices are steep but they are going towards more of a premium brand. I wish they were the prices of 2 to 3 yrs ago as well.

B+ is over generous BB. C- at best. No transparency and terrible value as it so over priced for 700ml. I passed them last year at 125, definitely won't be buying above that. Sub 100 I'd get one after hearing good reviews but that ain't happening so I'll stick to regular woodford sp and woodford DO.
Yeah maybe I was too generous whiskey alone is A+ value a D at best lol should have sought the C grade but it’s hard it’s better than some stagg jr and people will pay 150 all day for that not that I condone that behavior
