@@rajinferno007 Well, since I’m in NC and all stores that sell liquor are “ABC stores”, my best spot is an ABC Store. 😉

@@beginningbourbon7385 I'm guessing your in the Charlotte area cuz they seem to get better options like this compared to my region of NC. So far this year the best I can find is OGD products, WT101, Coopers Craft 100prf. Kinda disappointing so far this year.

@@treadsidedown484 I am in Winston Salem. The hard to find bottles are out there, unfortunately you have to have relationships with ABC store managers or you’re not gonna get them in most cases.

Not gonna lie...every time I see this new bottle shape now, all I can think of is using it as a club thanks to the lovely Matt Porter. Lol...the last bottle design was fire! I guess if they called it the 'Mjolnir bottle" it would lend some coolness to it, but I think they just should have stuck with the pot-still style. From how you described it, I think I'll stick to the ECBP and Rare Breed for my barrel-proof options...I also have some OF barrel-proof store picks that I'd probably like more than this too (for about $40-$50 less). Thanks for taking one for the team and doing a review of this one! Cheers, man.

Tried it and thought it was great. Didn't think it drank like 128 at all. Wouldn't say it's the value of say an ECBP at retail, but definitely don't regret buying the bottle. Cheers

We actually just reviewed this after it being opened up for a few weeks and really liked it. Price point is an issue but had a different take than you. Really enjoyed the mocha and oak flavor, but to each his own. Cheers!

I’m at the point with Woodford/OF where I won’t buy any of their LE/picks. I’ve dropped some much money on them and everyone has disappointed me except for the WF Very Fine & Rare (one of my favorite bottles from last year).

I bought my first bottle of Woodford and it was the Double Oaked. I found it to be very tasty and it's very available. I'm gonna try the Rye next.

Great review. However, I definitely found this bottle fits my palate. It very bold. I found that it opens up better with a single ice cube. It's not surprising that I enjoy my WRDO the same way.

Absolutely love this channel, but this review is the quintessential example of why whiskey is such a personal experience. I so strongly disagree with the negative sentiments in this review. This whiskey is extremely decadent and complex to me. It’s just as sweet as it needs to be and the coffee/chocolate notes you discuss are a perfect balance. Would buy another in a second.

I would like to hear what you think after letting it open for a month or so, it seems well aged at a high proof. Some air is going to do it some favor.

I don't think it's the age. I think it's young and they were hoping to give the appearance of high age using heat cycled warehouses. But will see what happens as it opens up.

I got a completely different experience. To me this bottle was a brown sugar bomb. I didn't get any Oak just brown sugary goodness.

Old bottle design was better! The non-batch proof ones were always hit or miss. Also, Woodford needs to make this quarterly. They're a huge brand, there is no reason for this not to be widely available and more often.

The best thing about such a high proof is that you can explore the whiskey more completely as you have all the headroom in the world to self-proof it down. Unfortunate about the lack of information, and thus justified speculation about how this bottle was produced. If they backed the bottle with some age statements and hard data it would make it worth $130 all day.

Standard woodford is about 7 yrs. Clearly not enough though for the batch proof. I love brown forman but it feels like woodford is their neglected child at this point who tries and fails to get parents love because they are never anywhere near as good as the other kids.

I bought my first Woodford recently, the Double Oaked , after reading load's of hyped referral's I have to say it's pischhh, total wheel cleaner, horrid stuff. So after that, a bottle of Rittenhouse 100 proof and a High West Rendevous Rye that's it f**k it , I'm going back to Scotland and The Isle's, never to return, all 3 are utterly vile
