I was finally able to complete this cup after watching your past video. I am so critical of my wood grain (didn’t help that I was making the cup for a woodworker) and finally just accepted it. The Jack Daniel’s decal was a nightmare to weed until I took out all the skinny scrolls. When I went back to check yours, I realized you had eliminated them too. It’s a fun cup to add to my repertoire. Thanks for all you do.

The scrolls 🤣 I removed them after I cut and tried to weel it 1 time nope bye bye.... I am pretty critical too but learning I need to let so of it sometimes its hand crafted will never be "perfect" one of my moms favorite sayings is "Perfect is the enemy of done" and she is so right.

Hey lady’s 🌹 I usually offset in black (and then weld for cuts) things like the scrollie stuff in .042 ..that’s a nice thin line around that thickens up enough to cut wayyy easier. ~Same with Print Then Cuts.. offset .042 - .050 (and then Flatten) so it all becomes one piece. This works especially great for things that have a lot of thin lines stacked up and odd shapes design elements. **Either of these are fabulous for when the machines wants to cut out every single thing like flower innards or teeth inside of skulls or whatever else** I did a Arkansas Razorbacks cup last Christmas & this guy wanted 7 hogs running around the bottom of the cup. Every time I printed out and cut it was cutting out each tooth & tiny curly tails 😂 I racked my brain for two days. It finally came to me to offset the whole hog in black. Worked like a charm! It still cut out the areas between the legs & all the places that needed blanked out but the teeth and stuff I wanted left alone were all one piece.

@@RaesTurquoiseTurtle love that saying - ‘Perfect is the opposite of done’ .. my kids a perfectionist and I’m always trying to explain that getting something done is better than a whole lot of things ‘almost’ done 😂😂. ~As artists it’s hard to know when to stop. Overthinking things or adding more & more colors isn’t good for me. Simplicity is usually better. I need to make a sign that says this to remind myself on a daily basis 👌 Thanks for sharing 🌹

I love woodgrain tumblers. You have a variety of alcohol inks.. which brand do you like the best?.... I need to order some I have browns I need colors. Thanks for all the inspiration you share. For woodgrain I only use Tim Holtz teakwood is my favorite for dark for really light Latte then I use ginger, sepia and caramel for multi and in between colors I will occasionally toss in a touch of rosewood avoid espresso that tends to turn green. I do use it to mix but never on its own...

No for these I don't I actually like the way a used brushed looks better so I let it build up on them typically.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong but with mine my browns never look like this. Could it be because I used matte white? Should I be using glossy prior to the browns?

Yes! Try using gloss they slide better and dry slower where matte wicks the ink into the paint.
