This is a historical landmark where people will always gather for those who were there and those who weren't are facinated by the event itself and the size of the crowd !
Was there last Friday. Set up a bluetooth speaker in the exact centre of where we thought the stage was. Then proceeded to play recordings of the Woodstock performances of Hey Joe, White Rabbit and The Weight. I wasn't there in 1969, but we still got to hear Hendrix, Grace and The Band playing live from the Woodstock stage. And it was magical.
You can drive to the monument and stage area which are located at the intersection of West Shore & Hurd Roads. There’s a place to park across the street. While walking on to the grass is discouraged, Ive seen many people do this quickly just to take a photo.
There is not way you are getting half a million people on that piece of land. Granted, it is quite sizeable and will take you a while to walk it from one end to the other. But half a million? No way!
