Hey great video man. Its really cool to see all the skills on display. I have a bit of a dilemma that I'd like to ask you and the wider Defrag community if you're so inclined as to indulge me. This is a bit long, sorry about that. I would greatly appreciate some feedback though. So I play a game called jedi knight; jedi academy. The community is really small so you tend to meet all the really good players right away, and i learned early on that without being semi decent Defrag player you are at a severe disadvantage in every game mode. Besides that, I really love racing and practicing defrag in that game, but I've reached a plateu in skill. In jedi academy you usually find a teacher that can show you how to improve so you don't waste time practicing the wrong things. This is where my problem starts. Most of the Defrag guys are old school q3 players and I can and have learned a lot by just watching them. But there's an elitist streak within the small community and the really good defrag players don't make friends/teach anyone who isn't already extremely good at it. Further more, my skill is not up to par and I would get laughed out of the server for trying to be better or ask questions. My question is, whats a guy like me to do? Ive watched every tutorial on the net (there's not that many) on strafe jumping and techniques, but Its so discouraging wanting to practice and being made fun of for being slow. Is this a common trend with defrag in all games? Should I just give up? I know I missed the party back in the 90s and early 2000s while everyone else was getting good at this so maybe I should stop trying to force my way in from the back of the line. That was a bit long winded, so thank you if you read my whole pity party.
