They said demons turning into Devil Arms duo to respect OR if they secretly acknowledges the enemy's power but doesn't want to belive it. Cerberus was kept by Dante and was only destroyed when used against Balrog. Now I wonder where Agni & Rudra are, they were pretty cool fellas.
Well that's not accurate either. It depends on the demon. Beowulf would never acknowledge Vergil or Dante but he was still turned into a weapon. This shows that it can also be forced.

I'm pretty sure Pat was just hamming it up. I don't doubt they're his real feelings, but I don't think he's actually terrified of using Faust properly, he just would rather use it to generate orbs instead of as a weapon.
@@Valiant_Requiem I think he honestly doesn't fully grasp how it works. Hell, Set Hat does CRAZY damage AND pays you a bunch if you catch the hat perfectly and do the pose. It pulls enemies closer, and doesn't cost anything. But I don't think he actually experimented.

Pat isn't very good at utilizing Dante's kit. His whole kit, I mean. No Royals, no gunmaster, hardly runs trickster, thinks his standard DT is useless after unlocking SDT. I understand that it's a lot but he is a force of nature once mastered. Dante is still my favorite character to play in DMC, personally. Edit: I am dumb, gunslinger.
Yeah Royal Guard is great for this fight. The claw swings are slow and easy to parry and the shockwave timing is basicly when Cerberus lifts his head. And as Pat said Royal Guard is save even if you don't get it completely right.
Pat was hardly on the floor this whole fight long enough to take the random swings Cerberus throws out, Royal guard is literally not good in this fight when you can go in with Sword Master and just fucking dunk on him the whole time. Trickster is great for avoiding his attacks and going in which is what Pat was using it for. Gunslinger is alright for combo potential in group fights, but against a boss? Ya no, the best attacks it has are weak or leave you too open for them to be worth it when you can just GO IN with Sword Master and Trickster. Sword Master gives you more combos with your main method of damage and Pat was able to punk the boss most of the fight and would have done better if he had used SDT considering that he got S Ranks easy in this fight thanks to Sword Master. I'm not saying the other styles suck or anything, Trickster is the best Utility style for combat and evasion, Gunslinger makes weapons like Kalina Ann godlike along with making weapons like C-A act almost like another main weapon, and Royal guard can shut out enemies completely if you learn timing perfectly. The thing is, Sword Master is not only the easiest style to learn but it also pays out waaaaay more than the others in almost every case because it's designed to be the main combat style for a reason. Besides this is an LP, any skill in royal guard ether Pat or Woolie has goes right out the window when they literally can't focus on the fight and timing.
After this 20 minute Void showcase of King Cerberus, it will finally be the episode. Until it turns out they scheduled the episodes wrong and the April Fool's DmC episode goes up.
So Woolie wants the Sparda reveal to be MGS4 but I think he wants that MGS 4 just so he can have Dante and Vergil fight shirtless in the rain for real this time.

Really wish the beginning of King Cerberus' theme was longer or they could've just made the whole thing a remixed version of the original. And now we wait for next episode where Woolie realizes all too late that his pants disappeared along with V.

Well of course he had to talk about the moves and show them off in the void while still talking about them. That was preventative measures to keep Woolie from pestering him about every little thing during the actual missions and slowing everything down FURTHER.

The reward for beating SON OF SPARDA isn't just to remove all weapons, you can also equip ALL the wepons. You can make a weapon set of Rebelion>Sparda>DSD
@@MegaBichiX yes and no. yes you can do them each seperately, but by the time you charge the third, the first has ended. so at most you get two. but you can keep it going infinitely if ya really want to.
I like how they turned most consumables and regen into weapons or parts of ones kit, I like how sweet surrenders break age is just a (s) vital star since it costs 3.5k and auto restores 3 bars while normal sweet surrender toggle is Nero substitute DT heal since he lost it for most the game. Then Royal Guard became the new demon star as they added a skill based way to generate DT fast which in turn generated a skillful way to earn Dante's health regen and super moves.
He understands how it works but cannot mentally get past the "speculate to accumulate" hurdle. I feel like it's a bit of hoarder mentality, hell he had an absurd number of consumables left at the end of his RE2 playthroughs, apparently!
Dunno if Pat or Woolie gonna read this but from what I understand, the Qliphoth feeds on human blood and basically power itself off and the fruit that buffs any weapon with all the blood it gathered but it still fully functions like a plant, putting its roots in the ground to absorb the nutrients except that for the Qliphoth : Human world = ground and human blood = nutrients so the flowers and all are in the Underworld/Demon World. It's kinda funny actually.
This Faust conversation coming right after Pat's shovel Knight stream where he had 80 magic points, was at the boss of the level, and didn't want to use the items AT ALL because "what if I need it later!?" Is just perfect.
Pat's the embodiment of that one ProZD video where a guy has a ton of potions and doesn't use them on the boss "because what if I need it later?" "THIS IS THE FINAL BOSS!"
@@Valanway I can do that with trickster with out having to perfectly time the block while going in and still doing damage. Royal Guard is good, but like... why not just use trickster and Sword master when it's so much easier to do? I mean, Royal Guard is great for blocking their explosions but I wouldn't waste my time trying to memories and parry literally every attack they have.

3:00 "Sparda split his soul into three swords..." Yeah, and Dante got to the same level of power by melding one and a half into him. So Dante's power level had to be at least one and a half swords before that. Considering he was supposed to surpass Sparda, it was probably closer to two or two and a half, with his skill and gear making up for the rest. "What happened to Sparda?" It's established in this game that demons get their power from human blood. Likewise, the God of Time uses demon blood to give devil hunters new powers and gear... anyway, it's easy enough to assume that Sparda probably subsisted for a long time on offerings from human worshipers. There is a statue in one level with four pools that seem to be a highly ritualistic location. You don't need interior drainage sluices for the rain. It's then easy to think that before/when Sparda married Eva, he stopped consuming blood. From there, you could assume him slowly growing weaker, possibly starving to death, until one of Mundus' assassins managed to catch him off guard, presumably leading to the house burning and Eva dying. All assumption, but I think it's a logical enough conclusion, barring canon from other sources. And if you think about it, the reason human-demon hybrids are so strong, is probably because their human blood can feed their demonic powers, in perpetuity, with the caveat of requiring more extreme circumstances to unlock them, and having more limited access to demonic power when in human form. Which in turn implies that the less demon blood you have, the stronger your devil trigger and the more easily it is fed, but the tougher it is to unlock.
You don't actually need to upgrade Dr. Faust to increase the red orbs dropped for secret mission 12. Like in 3 and 4, some of Dante's moves don't actually land a killing blow until the very end, so you can just do Million Stabs or Dance Macabre on the Empusa over and over, cancelling out before the last hit, and it won't ever die.
Royal Guard is actually really good against King Cerberus. Their aoe explosions are easily blockable (you'll still get pushed away without DT though), and most of fire's attacks are easily blocked. Ice has some moves that destroy less than perfect blocks, but I don't know of any moves outright breaking blocks (fire's BIG jump/charge might though). Using Set Hat with Faust also gives all three heads their hats. I only recently found this out, but some the weapon's fire attacks have tipper/spacing properties. His ground combos and Rock Back definitely do, but IDK if others do. Elemental damage is also a thing for three lesser demons in the game. If you are having any Hellbat related troubles, hit them with Lightning Cerberus.
I believe the skill list says if a move does more damage for hitting with the tip. Also, Royal Guard's cool and all, but have you tried Balrog weaving through his attacks? It's so good.
Honestly my favorite boss because of what I did by accident. I went into SDT just before he transferred to thunder and I psycho-crushered thru his thunderclap just as he exploded!! Blew my mind and damn near had a seizure from all the particles lmao

For someone who observed the Sparda prologue opening of DMC1 close enough to confidently say Dante is now doing some of the same moves, Pat sure did miss the part where it says Sparda died.
That's because Pat almost certainly had that pointed out to him during a stream or on Twitter. He couldn't even pay attention to DMC5 enough to see Judgment on the movelist. He thought it was a hidden move when chat told him about it.
For ppl who are curious about the slap city clutch button, heres somethings it can do: * reverse directions of attacks, keeping your momentum too * turns your shield into a larger shield * makes it so you dont fast fall, so its easier to do certain air attacks And thats just the stuff i can think of off top of my head. Its just a really cool shift button that like woolie is trying to get across changes WHAT the action is doing and not “makes it more powerful” Like in a way it even reduces extraneous input like the attack direction reverse. In smash bros post brawl you can actually change the directions of special attacks but ONLY with a specific wonky control setup. While in slap city its just a universal button anyone can press and it can effect whatever attack the devs want.
I'm sad to hear Pat can't Dr.Faust. The best moment ever for me was when on SoS I maintained the hat on Vergil pretty much his whole first phase. Made like 100k
It's not only good for generating orbs either, if you use around 200k to 300k orbs you can insta kill Vergil with the meteor if you are in DT on Dante Must Die which is insane
It's great how the creators of DMC finally get to do the Cerberus fight they couldn't in 3. They wanted him to have multiple elements and be free to roam the arena but lacked the time money and tech to do it at the time.
It was on the subreddit a while back, it's a meme of that picture of a soldier taking missles to the back in front of some sleeping kids, but with the missles being "knowledge of sex", beyo being the soldier, and the kids being dante etc.

My headcanon for Sparda is that he was crippled after beating Argosax’s pure form (one we don’t see in DMC2 because Sparda beat it so badly that Arius couldn’t even resurrect it) and the combination of that and him having sealed his powers away meant he lost against Mundus when he resurrected 20 years before DMC1.
One thing I really appreciate about this game is the fact that you earn DT while currently using DT so it awards good play by letting you keep your super for longer.
I fucking love the idea of Sparda just showing up and Dante freaking out, while Sparda just doesn't get why he's so upset because time doesn't mean much when you're immortal and also demons are bad parents. Dante: "What the FUCK? You were just FINE this whole time? Where WERE you? I thought you were DEAD!" Sparda: "Why would you assume that?"
Ya know what I just realized? A Super Dante with Royal Guard is just as broken as the Faust Hat since the Devil Trigger regenerates and the Royal Guard just drains the DT if you're not able to get a Royal Guard.
