Most of beautiful Worcester was demolished in the 1960's. The ugly carpark was attached to a hotel called the Gifford..it was very ugly right opposite the Cathedral. The council took away a historic lychgate to build said hotel..there was a picture in local paper at the time of me and my grandad looking at the building site.
