WORDCLOUD Tutorial for Google Data Studio + Custom Visualisation Add-On + Practice Dataset

Wordcloud is a popular chart to visualise text data. In Google Data Studio, you can create wordcloud using a few clicks with no-code or less-code needed!
In today’s video, we’ll cover how you could generate wordcloud easily in GDS using 2 community visualisation add-on: Simple Word Cloud and Vega/Vega Lite.
While this is not the best wordcloud we could create as there are other processes that we did not cover such as stemming, removing stopwords, text translation, etc. I am planning to create a course to guide you further on this topic but I wasn’t sure if this is something you would be interested in. When I put the link, Word Cloud appears fine but when I hit Send, it just stays as loading or as if it no longer worked :(

Great solution, thanks! Is there an option of change the font colour - either to one single one or using color schema of some additional dimension (not word-cloud dimension itself)?

Hey there, yes there is an option to change the colour schema, you may refer to Vega documentation for more information: vega.github.io/vega/docs/schemes/ Hope this helps!

I am trying to use the Vega add in. When I add the field I want the cloud generated for it gives me this error. Invalid JSON - Bad control character in string literal in JSON at position 557. Has this happened to anyone else? Any idea how to fix it?

Hi mam , I need your suggestion to implement one feature in my dashboard.Actually need to create inspector layout like if we click any of the aggragated field in pivot table it leads to popup inspector layout with respective aggregated value details which clicked in pivot table.Could you please suggest to implement this feature ?

Hi, i have a similar word cloud but i would like it to show the percentage which world represents from the total values. Do you have any idea how I can do that?

hi Vinisavordelli , I'd recommend you preprocess the text to get the "word" and "count" as a table, then use native bar chart in GDS to do this :) If you are familiar with Vega lite, you may check out this as alternative.
