I can't say I'm a fan of the idea of extending the ring outdoors, since it precludes providing any means of isolation for the outside wiring. Ideally I'd like to see outside wiring on a seperate RCD but if that is not possible then I'd at least want a means of isolation so that when it leaks and trips the RCD I can isolate it and reset the RCD until I have time to sort it properly.

Tip.Feed the wire attached to the bending string up tru the centre of the spring, that means if it gets stuck in the conduit and you have to pull it hard, it wont stretch as it will be pulling against itself

Nice bends Cory! and Noice to see more of John too!! I do the same when I extend the rings, but I like to put the earths into the earthing (CPC) terminal in the back of the pattress box (only two wago connectors used then) which frees up space in tight boxes, especially if client has USB sockets.

Hey Corey, if that is a boundary fence you are fixing the sockets to, we can’t do that in Australia as it’s considered not a permanent structure. I’m not familiar with British standards so maybe it’s acceptable. Secondly I’m not trying to be smart but I was taught not cable tie cat 5/6 cables as it can affect the data transmission rates and it can increase attenuation and cross talk between cores. We use Velcro to tie data cables as it doesn’t crush the cable and still remains relatively neat. Great job !

You've convinced me to do more bending in future. I usually just cheat and use inspection bends or flexi if I have to go round awkward corners. I also find it a lot easier to assemble PVC conduit around the cables when they're sheathed rather than trying to pull them through. Just out of interest why was conduit chosen? I would have thought armoured might have been more appropriate for this job?

First of, I love the amount of videos you are making for us. And a helpful tip is to trow the "Nylon Tension Spring" in the proper recycable bin and buy a proper tension spring(i think thats the english word for the push-through-pipe-thingy), name of the one i'm using is "Castor Runpo5". Should be an three wire braided one, you have much morr force, while it still bends in pipe corners.

Hey Jordan, you are lucky they put your bike parking under the shelter... here in CA, they put the *plants* under the shelter, and the bike racks out in the elements. If they *do* build a bike shelter, they make the roof so high that the rain blows in sideways... but then again, like the song says... rain, California... you get it. ;-)

Nice to see some Ubiquiti kit in there. You should look into importing the G4 Doorbells for users that use Unifi. Since they are still so hard to get! Nice install Was thinking about the same with a similar setup that's also rained on. One thing with that make of outdoor spa is a serious one, the moulded plug rots too quickly and gets very very hot.. Like after a few months of it being outside and can cause damage. In the end, replaced it and had no issues.

In the old days we were limited to a maximum of 3x 90 degree bends between boxes and all conduit work needed to be completed before the cables pulled in .Also we weren't allowed to export the cpc outside the equipontential zone if it was a TNC-S arrangement.I guess from watching this video all that's gone out the window with the latest regs.

In Denmark the main cable provider NKT sells cable on what they call a qaddy, big drum, that can be pulled around with a handle. You pay a deposit for the qaddy, which you get back when returned to the wholesaler. They'll just use it over and over again, really neat I thought.

The one thing I definitely would have done different is the socket inside I would have changed that for a dual box and fitted either two single sockets or a single and a double sockets to split the ring. I hate using wagos in the back socket. Or if there was a spare way in the CU I would looked at using that. As I like to keep outside circuits isolated from the rest of the house circuits. . Different ways of doing the same job . they would all comply with regs.

Here in the US, we can't legally use NM-B (Romex) in conduit outdoors, as it can't be used in wet/damp locations, and inside the conduit will become wet over time. We have to use single strand cable only.

2nd comment.. tip with pvc conduit (sorry to those who know this!) There are 2 grades of pvc conduit, light gauge and heavy gauge. Springs are mostly for heavy gauge, you CAN bend light gauge but it's not a fun process. Certain suppliers who rhyme with Crew licks have a habit of selling light gauge as heavy gauge causing nasty spring ripples in the finished product
