Yes, I am working on it. I am still setting up home and unpacking stuff. Its just taking so long because just daily living takes a long time. Try going out to forage for your lunch. It all takes a bit of time.
Yes, the fridge cleaned up nicely. And there are no cracks inside like some old fridges have. Its in good shape really. I am looking for wire to pump water into my tank. Will be nice. And for inside, I can use a PWM to vary the motor speed and its pumping capacity.
And DAVE........YOU ROCK TOO :) all you great people that give and contribute to Troy. The great people that help Troy are just heart warming loving good americans. I love that people still help others that can use it. I just love to see all the great things that happen here. It goes to show that good things come to good people. Oh yea, sorry for the mis spelled words and bad grammer. I am in a extreme hurry to get off to work. But I just had to post here today before I leave for work. Thx again
I plan to put insulation on the sides and top of the fridge. The back side is open to the air and vented at the bottom and the top. The specs for the fridge say you can have zero clearance on top and sides. Its printed right on the back of the fridge.
The fridge is vented out the back of the camper quite well. Should be safe. They were made for each other. The 12 volt line is to maintain the cold after the propane has cooled it down, from my reading online.
"gsarjos" is right about the bugs. They are Springtail bugs that are often mistaken for fleas. I read that they feed on decaying plant matter and fungi from moisture. Sprinkle cornstarch around the perimeter of the trailer to keep them out and for elimination, use two cups of water and one tsp. of dish detergent. Which usually kills most bugs. Good Luck! You're my hero!!!
They were very strange. The vanished soon after. All gone without a trace. Yes, I do need batteries for storage. I have more power than they can handle now.
I did move it out. But I did not get rid of it. I want to make sure the propane one will be fine first. And the other one is brand new. Yes, thank you Dave.
Not sure what the things were, but they are gone. Yes, I do mark my territory, daily. Always in a different place. That is actually suggested in survival guides. The tire has had a hard life before I got the truck.
Troy, I have never posted on here, but I wanted you to know that I really really enjoy and look so forward eveyday to watching your video's. I own a computer store here in Tennessee and I have stuff laying around the shop (computer wise) I dont have alot of great stuff, but I do have lots of used things. If you need anything computer wise, Please letr me know. I will do my best to try to over a week or so, gather things up for you. PLEASE please, post more video's. Love your cat too :)
14.1-15 volts is an equalization charge (automatic on many charge controllers). It's purpose is to keep the plates in your battery clean and extend their life. My charge controller kicks off an EQ charge once a month.
i sealed the roof today, moved the rugs around and found where the water went on the rug, yuk i took it out and then setup tv vcr/dvd & small desktop plugged it in to solar power inverter and it ran the fridge turned on and was getting cool i think it putting out more then 800 why i did not unplug my home side & tv and internet was on with one vcr on too! all it did was have the fan run no buzzing yet! plug the bigger panels were on grid tie feed back i think it might work better now!!!
I will probably use one to fill the tank when I need to. The tiny flea looking things vanished without a trace a while later. No sign of them at all. Where could that many critters go
Hmmm, My full sized fridge/freezer in my Bounder set on low/medium can get me a full summer of use. That is even with the occasional heater and oven use in the coach. My LP tank is a 24 gallon tank that usually only gets filled around 20ish gallons. His smaller fridge should run longer than 18 days on a smaller tank. If insulated well enough that should increase. The fact that I use my stove in my tent set up outside the RV to cook most of my food really makes a difference in LP management.
What you are seeing on the ground are called spring tails or puddle bugs, the stage you see them in are nymphs.... they emerge from under walk ways or in your case mats, they do not bite...provided you do not have any type of pest control product at your site , you can use cleaning liquid if you have some on hand. remove the mat and treat under it or you will bring them into your camper
Happy to see the fridge in use, it seems to be working - hope it holds temp & lasts a while for you. I think bears mark territory by clawing trees, you might have some coyotes running around.
i just saw that stuff today and did not look to close to it. i thought it was sand from the water running through the yard .but yours looks alive.WTF.now i feel itchy just thinking about it.i'm taking the flea powder out there right now.
the grid tie i have puts solar panels or 12 volt battery power back to the grid! it works only one way the grid reg the power feed to it! the grid tie connected to full sun 150 watt panel set feeds back to grid 130 plus watts back the watts feed = whats in used well doing it, i shut down stuff i seen as low as 20 watts! i get more from charging battery's and running stuff off them though inverter & wiring and unplugging stuff not in use!
The tire was like that when I got it. I actually baby my truck too much. The fridge is vented at the top and bottom. The camper was made for one of these.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I dont like wolves or bear. Actually coyotes surrounded me last year. Not sure if it was intentional, but I got out of there.
Haha cats! She's adorable & I love the way you tend to her. Great on the fridge! I'm so happy for you! I used one of those Coleman coolers for about a year or so. My old fridge leaked ammonia. ACK! Could not use it, it became a fire hazard. After checking what it would take to fix it, I ended up buying a new one instead. It's soooo much better than a cooler!!! Keep the vids coming - I think they are important to others. The tires, a coyote maybe? Do bears mark like that? I don't know...
Troy stay of the curbs when you drive lol, I seen that big dent on your sidewall. Also besides my below post, make sure your fridge is vent in roof like it is but also at bottom ( the access door)
By the by, all three way RV refers drain battery banks in a short while so be mindful of the power consumption if you use it on 12V and not LP. With just the refer on that five gallon tank you should get a few months out of it on 24/7. Sad night when I forgot that I was on battery and pulled into a campsite only to go to bed in a dark RV because I didn't have the juice to light anything. Oh and also use a soapy water solution in a spray bottle to soap down all LP fittings to check for leaks.
I have a question. So the circuit board is where yours is. I don't know how to access it to check fuse. My freezer and fridge is not working on propane or electric. I have a dometic 1303 and the fuse in front under good of my 84 pace arrow is fine. It worked till one night the breaker popped from inside my home which I have shore line plugged into house. How do you access the board with it being under?
I have never seen anything like those "bugs" before. Closest thing would be chiggers, but they don't group up like that. Just be careful around them, especially until you find out what they are.
troy i get that alot in front of my house in my mulch i think its some kind of fungus that grows in oak mulch, anything that walks in it will track it all over.
i was gone most of day i added 4 batterys to my solar pack 3 deep cell boat batterys and a truck battery, got a camera for 48 hour off grid try & 2 power cords too,and roof sealer the roof on camper has a leak i need to seal the section of roof again! it leaking again! i got hope put solar togather it was full charge green by noon I guess it work better!
The bugs were a strange surprise. I was worried about my cat until I realized they are harmless springtails. Yes, my Baby cat is very cute. I think she knows it too.
