Excellent tool review. Great attention to detail, with good sound, and useful close-ups. I noticed that set yesterday when I was in my local Aldi. You are quite correct about the number of chisels having diminished over the years. Seems they have gone the way of Wagon Wheels. About ten years ago, I purchased a set of 4 chisels from Lidl. I've just checked, and they are Labelled as Powerfix. Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, I only paid £5.99 for the set - reduced from £7.99. Like you, I was not expecting too much, but they have been excellent. Yes, they needed the usual titivation to get them up and running, but the steel is very good, doesn't take forever to sharpen, and holds an edge just fine. They live in the garage, but I did use them on-site, chopping in locks in mahogany doors and frames a couple of years ago - didn't half get some funny looks - but they performed flawlessly. Thank you very much. I predict next year they will only be selling a single chisel! I guess 2 chisels for that price is still a good deal these days though. I recently bought a set of 4 Aldi Workzone chisels with wooden handles from ebay for £12.95. Must have been old new stock. They look good and I can't really fault them for the price.

Hi Phil, I think you have done well with those chisels from Aldi, you give them a good edge and work as well as an expensive set of chisels. For £6 not bad at all, you bought a good set of chisels and made them better. As always a great video Take care

Well, there doesn't seem to be a lot wrong with those Phill, as much as most people would need I guess, although I'd sooner it was 24mm & 12mm as the narrower blade might be more suitable for chopping out for mortice locks etc.
