many thanks Adam - amazing to watch your motion through the water ... since discovering your videos & work 2.5 years ago I have been steadily adapting my open water freestyle style as much as possible to your ocean walker technique ... this summer during swims there have been periods of sensation of effortlessness when I felt I finally sussed out how you are doing what you are doing ... then it slips away again as old habits and mistakes creep back in. But the 'much better' is gradually effortlessly replacing 'the awkward'. One thing I found helpful for coordinating the hip torque/shoulder/ body rotation side to side is to generate a feeling of swimming downhill, slightly tipping/leaning the head into the water on each 'after the breath' stroke......
Great Coach Adam.. I recommend all who would like to learn your great freestyle to watch your learnibg vedios in Adam Walker vemio.. Coach Adam one of the best Coach ...
Isn't this the techniqur that USA woman used to beat 14 world records and absolutely dominated the space? If yes, you're teaching a legendary technique to your students. What I like the most is that it's little effort, I'm interested in long distance in open waters not really pools, so it's ideal for me. Hopefully I'll recreate at least a fraction of this technique with training, this is freaking awesome.
If I am not mistaken you mentioned in another video that your method involves a 2 beat kick. Do you start your kick during the hand entry or afterwards?
I found this stroke by accident yesterday swimming into waves. Thought I had a better hold of the water and it was quicker even though I’d slowed down the stroke. Excellent video.
Hi Adam! Thanks a lot for the content! I'm Ricardo Barreto and I have a Brazilian swimming channel! I would like to know if I can use your technique for demonstration in one of my videos???
I'm already thinking of attending an Ocean walker swim camp. Maybe you're right and my shoulders will thank it. I understand though, that this technique doesn't make it difficult to see ahead and swim in a straight line. Anybody here has experience with this technique?
I am being coached by a lady called Alex, "Open Water Angel" who is applying your technique. If I send you a video from her can you critique it. I am very happy to pay for your time
When your on your side shoulder is higher meaning recovery arm sweeps therefore no lifting. Arms then get guided down into the water via rotation meaning pure hip power, therefore bigger glide and power, also not putting arm in and overstretched vulnerable position for the catch. Win win 👍
Your head isn’t straight and potentially your arms are going across the centre line. If you learn Ocean Walker Technique I teach you how to keep a still head 👍
In one of your videos you said is like going downhill. That means your arm who catch the water you strech it as much as you can in front you or more down to the water?hope my writing make sense.
