Every time they play I think, that’s pretty good, then she plays and I’m like oh, oh damn, oh god damn.

She's assertive and confident while also being soft spoken and sweet. Her ability speaks for itself.

She looks harmless when she speaks, yet so gangsta when she's playing

There are two types of people when they listen to child prodigies: Eddy: *impressed* Brett: *depressed*

I love how she gives them advice about being too tight, and use one finger over another, and it immediately makes them play better. Chloe is a great teacher.

I know absolutely NOTHING about the violin. But listening to the sound she makes when playing is incredible. Not just how fast she can play but the quality of her sound. 🎻

Wow, a lot of prodigies have so much natural talent that they find it hard to teach others, because for them it's like "just do it bro". But she really understands where they're going wrong and you can see the vast improvement in their playing in such a short time. She also easily acknowledges the difficulty of the piece when it's clear that she finds it easy. A true master of her craft

Unlike most child prodigies, she seems to understand the instrument and music, and won’t fall apart as she ages . She can already teach incredibly well, and I think her career will keep going

Can we all just take a moment and appreciate the bruise(?) or dark mark under her jaw? It shows HOW MUCH she practices to the point it has darkened that much. She's AMAZING.

Not even being musically inclined I can hear the difference. Not even to say that Brett and Eddy are bad players because they're great players but Chloe is just phenomenal.

She's literally the main character of an anime about violinists and we're just the background characters.

Don't let talent alone fool you. She has amazing technique and she's taken the time to problem solve and find ways to minimize the areas that could slow her down. She's practiced a lot to get where she is. You can do it boys.

Knowing that she's half their age and probably twice as good at the violin doesn't stop her from being super sweet, humble and kind. She laughed at every single one of their joke and always gives suggestions starting with "Maybe you can...". I'm an adult beginner learner myself and I'm genuinely impressed by how much humility these three young people have.

I love how TwoSet took the class seriously. Sometimes some adult didn't think a child seriously, even if the child is a prodigy like Chloe. Just because they live longer they think they know better

One comment Chloe made told me a lot about her. She pointed out in the midst of all the technical challenges that the melody needed to come out. That shows she is after the music no matter what - a true musician.

It doesn't even sound the same when Chloe plays. It just hits different.

The best part is she's not showing off. She's seeing what they do wrong, offering a correction and you can immediately hear in improvement. Seriously impressive.

I just realised how resonant chloe was, considering the sound we hear even though shes projecting away from the camera (and presumably the mic), as opposed to Brett and Eddy - i love them of course but Chloe is god-tier..

I think I love this video even more because usually adults don't take kids seriously but no - every single advice she has, they take it seriously and mindfully. its the type of attitude and respect you would expect from an actual teacher. Love love looove this video so much.

The thing that impresses me the most about TwoSet is they are almost totally without ego. They are secure in the knowledge of their own abilities, not afraid or ashamed to admit that others surpass them. To deliberately put themselves into a situation where others can and will laugh at them demonstrates confidence and maturity.

The way she notices their standard fingerings and then shows them effective changes. That's what a good teacher will do. She's gonna make a ton of money doing master classes as her career progresses.

The problem is she doesn't practice 40 hours a day, she practices 40 hours an hour.

The scars in her jaw says it all. Chloe put in tremendous work and hours. Her playing in 3:11 is so clear and phenomenal, made me cry.

I love the fact that she doesn’t even need to look at the music. She’s so incredibly talented she has everything stored in her head.

She was an awesome teacher she didn't just point out flaws she gave active corrections to improve their playing. So good!

Her bowing is very crisp and bold. Of course the dexterity of young fingers also makes a huge difference as well. Very talented and inspiring young lady.

Professor Chua is a talented one. From what I've heard, playing the violin is no easy thing, a young world class prodigy such as her is absolutely amazing. Every piece she plays always turns out to be an astonishing piece of art. TwoSet is also amazing, I'm really interested in learning how to play the violin.

I think it’s not easy to be a teenager and teach not just one but two people much older than you. She seemed to be very mindful to not let them lose face.

Even now, nearly three years later, Chloe has never performed Paganiniana. That is set to change, however. She is to perform it as part of her recitals on 5th and 6th of January 2024 in Singapore's Victoria Hall. The recitals will also include other virtuoso pieces for solo violin, including Tartini's Devil's Trill and Vitali's Chaconne. Having been reappointed as the SSO's Artist in Residence for a second season, in the run up to these two recitals she is to perform three concertos with the SSO: Paganini's first violin concerto, Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, and the Butterfly Lovers' Violin Concerto by He Zhanhao and Chen Gang.) She continues to make extraordinary progress. It is wonderful to see her career as a truly great violinist begin to take off.

Not only is she a prodigy, she's also a great teacher.

I like how this isnt a gag or anything, they laugh and have fun but all parties involved seemed ready to show up for a serious lesson with the goal of improving.

Just coming back to this to remind myself to be humble and open minded to suggestions for improvement. Watching Brett and Eddy have multiple "lightbulb" moments as Chloe broke down fingerings and other nuances to help their playing is great! I also enjoyed her reactions to watching the guys play. "You're just glissing here and there." 💀 And of course, dat Paganiniana. Goodness me.

My self esteem is already cracked when watching a prodigy on RU-vid… I can’t even imagine being taught by one Twoset is showing immense bravery right here 😃

She's like:"If you can play it slowly, I can play it quickly."

She's actually a really encouraging teacher, but it always amazes me when child prodigies give you a tip you never would have thought of. They need to find the most efficient way to play extremely technical passages because of small hands and limited reach and so on, so they will think of things you never would have tried in order to get around that limitation.

She is definitely a teacher who knows how to teach because I could hear and see their improvement after her suggestions.

It is Professor Chloe's 16th birthday today (7 January)! She will perform Mozart's 4th violin concerto with the SSO on both 12 and 13 January, and then fly to LA to perform Waxman's "Carmen Fantasy" with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra on 28 January. Back to Singapore to perform Bruch's first violin concerto with the SSO on 2 March, the release on 10 March of her first CD - Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" + Locatelli's "Harmonic Labyrinth" violin concerto - the SSO Lounge premier on 16 March of the video of her live performance last April of the same works, and performances on 31 March and 1 April with the SSO of Mozart's 3rd violin concerto. Busy girl!

We should learn from her bangs. No matter how this world shakes us, we must stay firm and stay resolved.
