@nosrellom
@nosrellom 8 месяцев назад
It's really impressive because a lot of people that are supremely talented can't teach it to other people. They just get it intrinsically and can't explain to other people how they do it because they just do it without fully understanding how they do it. It really shows how much she understands her craft that she can teach others.
@gatesurfer
@gatesurfer 8 месяцев назад
She’s very thoughtful in what she tells them. Not that “this is wrong” or even “this is better” in a critical way. She gives them fingering advice and tips on how to produce a better sound, or deal with balance issues, but in a very encouraging way. She really knows her instrument. And the playing at the end is ridiculous.

She also easily acknowledges the difficulty of the piece when it's clear that she finds it easy. A true master of her craft

Don't let talent alone fool you. She has amazing technique and she's taken the time to problem solve and find ways to minimize the areas that could slow her down. She's practiced a lot to get where she is. You can do it boys.
@cetterus
@cetterus 9 месяцев назад
Thank you, thank you, thank you! It is not all work tho, some of it is play. But most of all you can reduce it to invested time and concentration. I get sick listening to all this "talent" prostution. People praise elusive and conveniently non measurable "talent" because it is easier to get appraisal and money for something that nobody is competent to determine. So appraisal and money are for grabs to those who impose "talent" talk most aggressively. A LOT of people can play violin at the highest level. It just takes A LOT of time and determination.
@jplayzow
@jplayzow 9 месяцев назад
@@cetterusSome people are just able to learn things quicker, which is what talent boils down to. You can measure their learning speed / normal speed for a more qauntifiable percentage of talent but it misses the point. Talent can only be really used with the practice to back it. She works her ass off and is able to think in different frames to overcome the struggles the boys faced. Those together are what people usually call a prodigy. She deserves to be recognized for her work And her talents.
@yoshiwawa
@yoshiwawa 8 месяцев назад
@@cetterusIsn't it a talent in itself to have the patience and determination to put down as much work and keep the focus? I think that's a big differentiator between child prodigies and the rest of us. They have the capability to do it, also at a very young age.
@cetterus
@cetterus 8 месяцев назад
@@yoshiwawa 1. No, it isn't talent. It is character and way of raising the child. Talent is something else. 2. The rest of what you said- I completely agree. Plus, I would ad, if it takes patience and "determination" maybe it isn't the right thing for a child to spend the time. Kids need to play. And only if their toy of choice is an instrument- the results might be fantastic.

Knowing that she's half their age and probably twice as good at the violin doesn't stop her from being super sweet, humble and kind. Even now, nearly three years later, Chloe has never performed Paganiniana. That is set to change, however. She is to perform it as part of her recitals on 5th and 6th of January 2024 in Singapore's Victoria Hall. The recitals will also include other virtuoso pieces for solo violin, including Tartini's Devil's Trill and Vitali's Chaconne. Having been reappointed as the SSO's Artist in Residence for a second season, in the run up to these two recitals she is to perform three concertos with the SSO: Paganini's first violin concerto, Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante, and the Butterfly Lovers' Violin Concerto by He Zhanhao and Chen Gang.) She continues to make extraordinary progress. It is wonderful to see her career as a truly great violinist begin to take off.

She's actually a really encouraging teacher, but it always amazes me when child prodigies give you a tip you never would have thought of. They need to find the most efficient way to play extremely technical passages because of small hands and limited reach and so on, so they will think of things you never would have tried in order to get around that limitation.

@@baconb7489 There's no such thing as "her own techniques", even less so in classical music. I don't mean to be an asshole, but you have no clue about the subject. Back to Singapore to perform Bruch's first violin concerto with the SSO on 2 March, the release on 10 March of her first CD - Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" + Locatelli's "Harmonic Labyrinth" violin concerto - the SSO Lounge premier on 16 March of the video of her live performance last April of the same works, and performances on 31 March and 1 April with the SSO of Mozart's 3rd violin concerto.
