I find World Enchantments to be particularly effective in the Commander format, and here is the list of all of the ones available to you. Patreon / edhdeckbuilding TCGPlayer Affiliate Link www.tcgplayer.com/?...
Fun fact: the idea behind world enchantments was that you were changing the plane where the battle was taking place. It was a precursor concept to planeshift’s planar deck.
I wish they'd bring back world enchantments now that they've built out their own IP of planes. Would be nice in their next anthology re-cap set (like Origins)
@@kellybrian6495 Yes, however not everyone enjoys Planechase. World Enchantments let you select which planes your game will visit essentially, while in Planechase you randomly change planes with little control.
I have a Pillar Tombs of Aku in my mono black Aphemia enchantment deck. If an opponent chooses to destroy it I can get a zombie from it, and if I have Tormod out too I get another zombie. So for four mana, I get two zombies and an opponent loses five life. Not too shabby for an underwhelming card!
Man I hope you can make him work, I've always had a terrible time trying to build Daxos. I really just wanted a deck to put wand of denial and lantern of insight into
@@arielhampton699 I am currently at 108 cards so only a few cuts to go. But those cuts are very hard. I'll get some playtestimg done. What has made it terrible for you? Whst direction did you lean?
I play Nethervoid in my Yurlok stax deck. Yurlok conveniently breaks parity. In cEDH where most people have 2-3 lands and a couple of mana rocks it can really squeeze them. Nethervoid + Nullrod? It's a pretty difficult soft lock to navigate. Also as of posting this, there is a Secret Lair coming with Concordant Crossroads. IN FOIL. Very exciting.
you can tap out before you play it, then use the rest of your mana that main phase just fine; then on the next turn, you get to untap all your lands like normal, and you win with your combo with all your lands doubled. That's how I picture it anyway. If you get extra mana/lands out in the first couple of turns, you should have 10 mana easily by turn 4. (Turn 5 will suck though unless you have untap tricks.)
Winter's night is a good card for finishing a game in naya big stompeys. You keep it in hand until you have enough lands or other ways of getting mana to dump the rest of your hand onto the battlefield. I highly reccoment in an atla pilani deck, where you arent going to want alot of smaller creatures and indead just want to cheat out big guys repeatedly. This care works as a great "oh shit" button in that scenario, be ause youve essentially doubled your mana output for the price of not playing cards every turn (which in the early and mid game, might just happen)
Winter's Night can be pretty busted with Wilderness Reclamation and the like. Also, Pillar Tombs of Aku is doing a lot of work for me in my Alela enchantment deck. Eating 5 life gets pretty dicey pretty fast for opponents if I have Hanna, Ship's Navigator or another recursion method out.
Recursion is like the foundation of every deck I build in every format. Being able to play Assassin's Trophy 10 times per game is kind of necessary. (I built a deck in a recent Standard around winning with Turn the Earth and Secret Rendezvous.)
Winters night is kinda neat in Zavala, Primal calamity, because it helps him get into play earlier and he untaps the lands to bypass that downside (kinda(
oh i did some further digging on Land's Edge i think i got the golden ticket stuff here will start with opponents using it. and important note the wording is "target player or planeswalker" it didn't get errata'd to "any target" so your creatures are safe from it so whats important oh yea th fan favorite "Sangromancer" if they discard a card you gain three life and this does 2 damage its impossible to kill you with the vampire out your always up 1 life. Fell specter similar thing they lose 2 life when they do so they die with you with the lands and oh boy you know Tegrid is just the ultimate god tier of prevent them from using it they have to give it to you if they discard stuff (but tegrid could get banned down the line so be aware of that) other preventions of using it include Geth's grimore, liliana's caress, megrim, raider's wake, Confessor, and ofcoarse Nath of the Gilt-Leaf now for your benefits Waste not and Bone miser is just beyond obnoxious with it the lands next you 2 black creatures get you zombies and most importantly if neither get discarded....YOU DRAW A CARD... that's right with bone miser you practically give everything in your hand cycle 0 (waste not is just a rattlesnake for opponents) Glint-Horn Buccaneer gives you 3 damage with lands instead of 2 plus not you get 1 damage with everything same goes for Brallin, Skyshark Rider (ofcoarse with Shabraz, the Skyshark) Bag of Holding you can pretty much empty your hand on command and put it back with this fun with wheel effects easily the most evil thing you can do with it Archfiend of Ifnir makes it impossible for opponents to have creatures Surly Badgersaur just as good as Bone miser you get a treasure from discarding the lands oh yea most of all we can't just forget about the brand new Containment Construct discard then cast it
So interesting thing about Teferi’s realm is that it phases out each players Non-token permanents of that type. So in a creature token deck it’s really strong
I’m wondering if there’s a way to use Pillar Tombs of Aku in a Tatsunari deck- Maybe a stretch because I haven’t started looking yet but playing this gets out the Keimi token, it happens during upkeep so your opponents will either sac a creature or this and lose 5 life, what are the odds it even makes it back the first time around? with green and black you can get the pillar back. Enchantment synergies make this worth casting multiple times with cost reduction or constellation or enchantress or something. Idk, I know there are more efficient ways of doing this, but those ways don’t include Pillar Tomb of Aku.
Idk what percentage you get from TCGPlayer, but I'm betting if some clicks through and drops 1200 on a card, that would be a nice buff! 😂 I've got a couple of these from back in the day. Imma have to think about how to make use of them. Could spice up a game session. 😁😁
You can get a Living Plane like effect by using Yavimaya Cradle of Growth with Life and Limb. Then if you play Ezuri's Predation you would have a 1 sided board wipe for the most part.
There's also Living Lands (all forests are 1/1 creatures), or you can go with just Nature's Revolt (all lands are 2/2 creatures) and Predation if you're going for that kind of strategy.
Surprised you didn't mention that Concordant Crossroads has a reprint available RIGHT NOW as a secret lair. Only time the "World" type has ever been printed on the new frames :P
just like Plane cards from Planechaise. only 1 out at a time (usually). They should make a new Planechaise set with the precons have some new World cards. Not necessarily all being enchantments. Maybe an Artifact that makes Thopters or Myr whenever a nonArtifact is sent to the graveyard from play.
Living Plane + Eradicate was always fun against mono colored. Jolrael & Kamahl joining the party made it easier to pull off. It was usually a “GG, I cede” moment.
Keep holding off on buying my eye of singularity because i prefer to buy for lgs when i can and it never shows up. So im being slack with on building the deck i wanna put it in.
Not quite a world enchantment but Roots of Life. Combine that with Tomb of Yawgmoth and you gain a life for every land they tap. Combine it with something like Dina Soul Steeper and you have absolute chaos in seconds.
To mention to you you made a mistake with the price of Revelation because fortunately it was printed in Chronicles and its like 57 cents so you can just get a chronicles version and its basically a green Telepathy but it blue one is better because you get to hide your hand by the way land's Edge I'm sorry but you forgot about madness cards and stuff that trigger from discarding a card also with teferi's realm if you pick enchantment it hits itself so it just ends till it comes back to the owner the dangerous part is all but 4 are on the reserve list the 4 not on the reserve list is Land's edge, Revelation, Arboria, and Concordant Crossroads (infact Concordant Crossroads is actually getting reprinted in a secret lair so this is the moment of truth on getting that card for some of you)
Could probably make Pillar Tombs of Aku work with Ghen, Arcanum Weaver. Then again there might be better enchantments to do the same job, I'd have to double check.
I am surprised you didn't mention Stormtide Leviathan + Mystic Decree= Locked out Revelation is so funny since it was old enough that WOTC was still quoting real world stuff :P
Wouldn’t Koskun falls get buried on the first player who doesn’t want it around by not tapping the untapped creature? Seems like a bit of a waste to me. I like the idea but doesn’t seem like it will translate well. Idk
There's a Secret Lair coming with Nomad Outpost, Island, Concordant Crossroads and Ghost Quarter by Sidharth Chaturvedi... so they're basically just selling Concordant Crossroads for 30-40 dollars plus shipping. I dunno. This is pretty obvious. To be fair, I like reprints. It's just that they're printing one valuable card, one okay card and two that, besides art, are devoid of value. Why not a Triome? Why an Island? If the artist *wanted* to paint these cards, then sure. But for a company that's not supposed to acknowledge the second market, WotC sure are behaving like a company that acknowledges the second market. For one, there's the reserved list. I don't wanna discuss that here. But with this purchase, where some will get the foil Crossroads because that supposedly has never been printed before... besides the Crossroads, you're getting jack shit. They're testing the limits on how few cards they can sell you (four this time instead of five, instead of 25, instead of 100), and this is pretty much them selling singles. I don't think anyone would argue otherwise. That said, but it if you want it. It's a better price than buying the old version, and the new art is cool. It just sucks that taxes fuck me (shipping doesn't help either), and I think anyone who buys it should at least get four usable cards. They don't all have to be valuable, but you are buying two cards here, really. It costs the same to print a Mana Vault as a Sol Ring, I should think. I know none of this is surprising anyone, but it sure as heck grinds my gears. At least there's (kind of) a reprint, and it's good that people can get it at a 'reasonable' price (let's be honest; a Magic card shouldn't really be worth more than a couple bucks at most). I'm just annoyed at the price versus what you get, and how premium Magic is. They made two sets or so of reasonably priced commander decks, and then we went above what the decks cost in the good ol' days. Don't get me started on collector displays.
That's not how Teferi's Realm works. ALL cards of that type phase out, so you can't phase out creatures and then play a one-sided board wipe. Essentially you guarantee whatever YOU name, the next player in turn order will be the only one with that card type on the field.
Not that it’s important, but that text On “Revelation”, that is NOT Ecclesiastes 3:19. I’m not even sure if it’s any where in the Bible. “For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.” Ecclesiastes 3:19 But Considering what that card does, they actually could have used Proverbs 15:3 “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Beholding the evil and the good.” Proverbs 15:3
I wish they would make more world enchantments or at least give more attention to planechase instead of just edh. (Imo wotc ruined what was once a casual format and made it too cut throat with all the commander products that never went through play testing)
@@edhdeckbuilding commander's quarters mitch I'm guessing lol. Great creator, but his tone/speaking voice can certainly get tiring or annoying, at least for me.
Need to get some eye of singularities. cheap now and a good token hoser. tokens i feel like should be in the same category as artifacts/enchantments, far as available removal goes!
