World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Cinematic Trailer (Jane and JV REACTION 🔥) 

The OG Lich King was defeated several expansions ago and Bolvar, one of the good guys, put on the helm instead, using his iron will to resist the temptation and keep the undead army from rampaging and he is who Sylvanas subdued in this cinematic.

This is not the same Lich King from the Wrath of the Lich King trailer. He died at the end of that expansion. This was the new Lich King, Bolvar. But he is actually "good". He became Lich King to keep the dead in check. A sort of jailor of the dead, so he is on our side. And Sylvanas could beat him because one, Bolvar is not nearly as strong as the last Lich King Arthas was and two, she has been empowered so much since the beginning of the last expansion because she serves "death" and so that's where her insane powers are coming from. So for once the Lich King was the good guys in this fight :D

Ner'zhul was the first Lich King. Then Arthas, then Bolvar. Now no one is the Lich King(?) The red eyes showed Bolvar in control. When they turn blue, that is Ner'zhul in charge. Ner'zhul wore the Helm of Domination, which allowed him to control the scourge. Arthas also had the Frostmourne sword that gave him more power the more he used it. Bolvar was a paladin infused with red dragon powers.

He is the second lick king. In wrath of the lich king, the lich king was arthas menethil . We beat him and he died. The soul of arthas’ father came out of the broken sword and told us “ there must always be a lich king” so the undead wouldn’t run out of control, he controls them. So a half dead paladin who was exposed to the plague then burned by dragon fire volunteered to be the new lick king. Since the end of wrath until now the new lich king has been Bolvar (the guy you see in this cinematic) The lich king has one foot in the world of the living and one foot in the shadowlands (where souls go when they die) but when the helm of domination was broken, sylvanas shattered the veil that serrated the two.

I'm conflicted on Sylvanas... I don't particularly believe she's a bad guy. Her storyline is top notch though... I'm excited for this.

The dragon they mentioned was already "dead" in the Wrath of the Lich King Expansion killed by the combined forces of Alliance and Horde forces and the "Lich King" they saw right now is the new heir in the throne. I honestly think they should play Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos and the Frozen for background reference for them to know more of the characters...

The Lich King that you saw in the Wrath of the Lich King Cinematic was Arthas, the most popular and well-known of the Lich Kings who wielded that sword you mentioned, which was called Frostmourne. That sword, coupled the Lich King's power since he wore the helmet, plus his powers as a death knight that he already had prior to becoming Lich King made him extremely powerful. The Lich King you see here is Bolvar, who took over from Arthas as Lich King after Arthas was killed, and after we all learned that without a master, the undead armies that are spread all around the world will go on a rampage. Bolvar sacrificed himself to become the new Lich King. Because of the fact that he had no special power before becoming Lich King, and the fact that he doesn't have Frostmourne (The sword was broken, reforged, but drained of its power), and the fact that he never fully gave in to the will of the Lich King's helmet therefore remaining good guy, he isn't as strong as his predecessor was. I think that if it was Arthas on the Frozen Throne instead of Bolvar right now, Sylvanas would probably have been far more cautious in facing him, if she would dare face him at all.

The one who summoned the dragon was Arthas, who between his sword and the countless souls within and his melding with Ner-Zhul (the original lich king) was significantly more powerful than this lich king (Bolvar) who only took the crown to keep the undead from going feral and swarming the world. He never fully embraced the power and wasn't combined with arthas or Ner'Zhul. The fire is his, he was killed by a dragon's flames, and the frost was him basically activating the helmet in order to take direct control of the dead. Which he usually prefers not to do as its power is corrupting/tempting. You guys should react to the fall of arthas, would clear up a lot of confusion from this one.

This isn't the same Lich King as the one in the Wrath cinematic. He is Highlord Bolvar Fordragon and he took on the helm of the command to keep the undead in check after Arthas was killed by the players at the end of the expansion. He only recently arose from his incubation in the ice of the Frozen Throne and did not possess the sword Frostmourne, a powerful, evil weapon that harvested the souls of the people Arthas killed. Sylvannas is also wielding a new magic whose nature hasn't been revealed to the players yet. And bonus trivia, Arthas is the one who killed Sylvannas after he marched through her land. He raised her as a banshee and forced her to serve him because she'd been a serious thorn in his side on his march through Quel'thalas. By destroying the helm, Sylvannas has opened the portal between the lands of the living and the dead - The Shadowlands. Supposedly Arthas resides there now so we may get to see him in the coming expansion.

Could you imagine they had made an actually good warcraft movie? Or even better an "HBO" series like GoT There is so much greatness in the story, so much potential.

I thought Sylvanas was gonna wear the crown and become the Lich King (or Lich Queen being she is a woman) and rule the dead. But she wanted to do something worse. What is that old saying again, "There must always be a Lich King". Well by breaking that crown she caused all the undead creatures that the crown controlled to become untamed and she opened a gateway between the living world to the world of the dead, Shadowlands.

Sylvanas is really more morally grey than a bad guy/villain.

This is a different Lich King from the guy you saw last time. His name was Arthas and he had a powerful runeblade named Frostmourne. This guy's name is Bolvar and he is weaker than Arthas because he doesn't have the sword. His job was to control the undead but because Sylvanas broke the Helm of Domination, the undead will go crazy and the realm of the dead (the Shadowlands) is now open.

Btw, the previous Lich King with the sword was killed by paladins, and one of the paladins wore the crown and became this Lich King. In that world, there should always be a Lich King, but Sylvanas destroyed the crown and set the world free of undead

She is not bad. She is just misunderstood. She didn't put on the crown because she is not tempted by the whispers nor does she want to be controlled.

The role of the Lich King is to command and control the evil Scourge. Arthas, the previous one, used the Scourge to attack the world. Bolvar, the new one in this trailer, contained the Scourge to the frozen north. Without a Lich King, the Scourge cannot be controlled and will wipe out all life in the world. Sylvanas broke the Lich King's helm, therefore releasing the Scourge and destroying the barrier between the world of life and the world of death. That hole in the sky goes to the afterlife.

This trailer shouldnt be called "Shadowlands" but instead "Banshee Queen and Lich King throw rocks at each other and players love it"

Sylvannas was an elf, turned into an undead banshee by Arthas after he took the power of the Lich King. After that Sylvannas has been looking for something along the lines of redemption/revenge (the one in this cinematic isn't Arthas though). In Roleplaying terms, she'd be "Chaotic Good" or something like that. She's both bad and good, depends on your perspective. In current WoW events, at least to the Alliance (the "good guys") she's evil.

Back in Wrath of the Lich King we defeated Arthas, the Lich King. But since there always have to be a Lich King, a person called Bolvar, who was nearly killed and then tortured by Arthas, took the crown and became the new Lich King. We've not really been dealing with him for a long while, but he's not "evil" like Arthas was (although he probably had some of his own things going on). As seen in this cinematic, Sylvanas travels to Icecrown, the home of the Lich King and then takes on his army and even Bolvar himself. The Frozen Throne had always been know to be a link between the world of the living and the world of the dead (the Shadowlands). When Sylvanas ripped the crown apart she opened a rift in the sky and it is where the new expansion will take place. The details aren't as important for you to know, but just the fact that this Lich King isn't the same you saw in the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic. And also that Sylvanas is the enemy in this.

There always had to be a lich king. Bolvar volunteered once we killed the last one, Arthas. Since she broke that chain when she destroyed the helmet, it opened the shadowlands, the land of the dead....the next expansion or something along those lines.

Just in case either of you want some more context, the in-game cinematic for the finale of “Fall of the Lich King” explains how Bolvar became the new Lich King after his predecessor, Arthas, was struck down back in the climax of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

That's the newer Lich King, not Arthas who had the sword Frostmourne (who was in the prior cinematic). Arthas was more powerful (it took a raid to kill him). Bolvar took the helm of domination and basically took the mantle of Lich King after Arthas died, but he is significantly weaker than Arthas. That and Sylvanas is drawing on a new, unknown power from her alliance with the jailer from the Shadowlands.

This is the newest Lich King (a paladin called Bolvar that took the place of somone else after his death). First was Arthas and he was the strongest Lich King (he also had a sword called frostmourne that made him even more powerful.. so he didnt wear only the crown of damnation.. he also had a powerful sword)

so thats Bolvar, he cant summon dragons =P as for her, thats Sylvanas and normally, no, she isnt that powerful. we just recently saw this new power and everyone, including characters in the game are like wth is that? she has never done that before. so normally no, the lich king would kick her ass. but she has made a deal with someone called The Jailer and he has given her new power that we have never seen before.

Love your channel. Also when she broke the helmet she caused the hundreds of thousands of undead it was controlling to go berserk and shattered the barrier between the mortal plane and the afterlife. So undead rampaging all over the world and souls aren't going to the right places anymore.

That is not the original Lich King with the dragon, as someone else stated he was defeated over 8 years ago by (the players) and a Paladin of the light named Tirion Fordring. basically when the Lich King died the ghost of his father told Tirion "there must ALWAYS be a lich king" due to the undead running rampant without one. A little lore... that is NOT the same lich king that was in Wrath of the Lich King expansion. The old Lich king was Arthas he was killed and sent to a place worst than hell called the Maw. When he died, a disturbing truth was made known....there must always be a lich king because with out one the undead scourge would run rampage across the planet and kill everything and mean everything. So Bolvar Fordragon a alliance hero and a man with a extremely powerful will took the helm and took control of the scourge and has been holding them in check. Not only has he been holding back the scourge he has resisted the corrupting power that resides in the helm. The fire that burns in bolvar is fires of life. Sylvanas only won because she has been getting power boosted by a death god called the jailer. she just opened a rift between the life and death......so we are going to into heroes and villians.

World of Warcraft has a back story for almost all the characters and even the npcs in the game. During the Lich King expansion Arthas was the final boss and was defeated. Bolvar had the crown placed upon his own head to be the one to control the undead scourge. And now she has opened the gate to the other side of death.

There is no way Sylvannas would put on that Helm. 1st off, it is possessed, & she knows that. 2nd, the previous Lich King, Arthas, from the cinematic you saw before, turned her from a High Elf Ranger into the Undead Banshee she is now. She hated him. This Lich King is Bolvar. He wasn’t that powerful.

He is the new Lich King but he is good. He took the Crown only because there must be always a Lich King to control the Undead Hordes and this is what he does. He died and brought back to Life with the Flame of a Dragon and now he protects the World from the Undead. Arthas, the former Lich King was evil but he was defeated. Sylvanas is definitly the bad Guy here. She has a Deal with Death himself and wants to kill all Life.

the lich king on this cinematic is not the lich king in the cinematic of 'wrath of the lich king'. Here its 'bolvar' and on the wotlk cinematic, its 'arthas'. Arthas is very strong, not bolvar :p

The difference between this cinematic and the Diablo 4 one, is that to watch this one you actually need to know the lore behind it. If you don't know who those characters are, their backstory, what they've done, how powerful they are, the video automaticaly loses at least 50% of it's magic. Diablo 4 is a short animated horror film anyone can watch and enjoy. It has some lore in it, but it's not of any importance and it won't affect the experience of anyone who will watch it. This one, if you don't know who these guys are and why they're fighting, it's just another cartoony animated battle between two superpowered fantasy beings. You're losing a lot of the importance it has.

We never fought the original Lich King as the Lich King in the game. It was Nerzhul.

Yup she's a bad guy. She tore open the veil between life and death and is pretty much damning every single person who died during battle for Azeroth literally to wow hell to keep herself from being trapped there if she dies for good...that's pretty much definition of a 'bad guy'. The only difference is now she's an 'official' villain. Hopefully we get to kill her for good and her bow is a loot drop >_>

They released information saying that she is in league with the jailer of the shadowlands. That tree she burned and all of the lives she has taken during the war have been fed into a maw that has been strengthening her.

To be completely honest she shouldn't of been able to defeat him that easily. The lich king would of put up a better fight but you know the dev's are trying to make sylvanas the most powerful being in wow for some reason

Also, that big Bone Dragon has been destroyed, so we won't be seeing them anytime soon.

Oh wow, everybody already commented that this is not the same Lich King. Okay then, moving on. It's not the "sky" that's breaking, by destroying the Helm of Domination she tore through the veil separating the world of the living from the Shadowlands, where souls go after death. Watch the gameplay trailer next. And she's definitely a bad guy, she has a bigger kill count by thousand than the lord of the undead she just beat. Just last expansion she committed a genocide lol. Now she endangered the entire world because aside from the threat that lurks in the Shadowlands, the undead Scourge now is on the rampage without the Lich King holding it back.

Well one with the sword Frostmourne is the old Lichking Arthas, When the Ashbringer destroy the sword, he was killed by the very souls he killed before. Then this guy Bolvar once a good guy took the helm and matle. It's not 💯 sure he's good now with his recent actions. But not a villan.
